    Skipjack tuna is classified as an important pelagic fishery resource and is one of the export commodities so that production needs to be continuously increased by maintaining the sustainability of these fish resources. This study aims to determine the development of production and productivity of the pole and liner vessels observed and to determine the length-weight relationship of the catches of the pole and liner vessels observed at the Bitung Ocean Fishing Port (PPS). In general, the production and productivity of pole and liners based at the Samudera Bitung Fishing Port increased from November 2021 to December 2021 and then decreased again in January 2022, so that they were declared unproductive. Pole and liner catches that are landed at the Bitung Ocean Fishing Port in the period November 2021 - January 2022 tend to get the same results with the size caught, namely 29-64 cm, with a positive allometric growth pattern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan produksi dan produktivitas dari kapal pole and liner yang diamati dan mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat hasil tangkapan kapal pole and liner yang diamati di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Bitung. Secara umum produksi dan produktivitas pole and liner yang berpangkalan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bitung mengalami kenaikan dari bulan November 2021 ke bulan Desember 2021 dan selanjutnya mengalami penurunan kembali pada bulan Januari 2022, sehingga dinyatakan tidak produktif. Hasil tangkapan pole and liner yang didaratakan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bitung pada periode November 2021 – Januari 2022 cenderung mendapatkan hasil yang sama dengan ukuran yang tertangkap yaitu 29-64 cm, dengan pola pertumbuhan bersifat alometrik positif.     Study of Welfare Level of Fisherman Community in Alo Village, Rainis District, Talaud Islands Regency

    Talaud Islands Regency is a maritime area with a sea area of around 37,800 km² (95.24%) and a land area of 1,251.02 km². The fishing community in Alo Village utilizes fishery resources as their main source of life. especially the coastal community of Alo village which is dominated by fishermen who are classified as labor fishermen or small fishermen. Fishing communities are small groups of people living in coastal areas whose main livelihood is utilizing the natural resources found in the ocean, whether in the form of fish, shrimp, seaweed, shellfish, coral reefs and other marine wealth. To determine the level of welfare of the fishing community in Alo Village. The type of research method used in this research is census research using descriptive analysis. So it can be concluded that the level of welfare of the fishing community in Alo Village, Rainis District, Talaud Islands District, with the number of respondents representing as many as 30 respondents was categorized as quite prosperous or moderate with a percentage of 66.67% and a score of 13. Abstrak Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud merupakan daerah bahari dengan luas lautnya sekitar 37.800 km² (95,24%) dan luas wilayah daratan 1.251,02 km². Masyarakat nelayan di Desa Alo memanfaatkan sumberdaya perikanan sebagai sumber kehidupan utama. khususnya masyarakat pesisir desa Alo yang di dominasi oleh nelayan yang tergolong nelayan buruh atau nelayan – nelayan kecil. Masyarakat nelayan yaitu kelompok kecil masyarakat yang tinggal di wilayah pesisir dengan mata pencaharian utama adalah memanfaatkan sumberdaya alam yang terdapat di dalam lautan, baik itu berupa ikan, udang, rumput laut, kerang- kerangan, terumbu karang dan hasil kekayaan laut lainnya. Untuk mengetahui tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan Desa Alo. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian sensus dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan di Desa Alo Kecamatan Rainis Kebupatan Kepulauan Talaud, dengan jumlah responden yang mewakili sebanyak 30 responden dikategorikan cukup sejahtera atau sedang dengan persentase 66,67% dan nilai skor 13.     Direct Benefit Value Of Coral Reefs Ecosystem in Bahoi Village West Likupang District North Minahasa Regency

    The high use of coastal resources especially coral reefs by the people of Bahoi Village can affect the existing ecosystem. This research was conducted in July 2021 in Bahoi Village, West Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency designed to determine the value of direct benefits of the coral reefs ecosystem at the location. The data collected in this study were primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by conducting interviews among the fishermen as respondents. The interview was conducted using the purposive sampling method by taking a sample of 30 respondents from fishermen's households in the community. As for secondary data, namely the ecological condition of coral reefs (coral cover), the general condition and population of Bahoi Village were based on YAPEKA 2015 data. The data collected were then tabulated and analyzed using the effect on production (EOP) model to determine the value of the direct benefits of coral reefs. The main livelihood of the people of Bahoi Village is fishermen, which is comprised of 107 people (60% of the total number of households in Bahoi Village. The results show that the community of Bahoi is very dependent on the coastal resources. Based on the result of the EOP analysis technique used the value of direct use benefits obtained from coral reef fisheries is Rp. 379,746,378,-/ha/year. Keywords: Direct benefits, ecosystem value, Coral reefs Abstrak Tingginya pemanfaatan pesisir khususnya terumbu karang oleh masyarakat Desa Bahoi dapat mempengaruhi sumber daya ekosistem yang ada. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2021 di Desa Bahoi, Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui nilai manfaat langsung ekosistem terumbu karang di lokasi tersebut. Sumber data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer didapatkan dari hasil wawancara. Wawancara yang dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan mengambil sampel responden sebanyak 30 orang. Sedangkan untuk data sekunder yaitu kondisi ekologi terumbu karang (tutupan karang) Desa Bahoi, Gambaran umum Desa Bahoi dan jumlah penduduk Desa Bahoi. Data yang dikumpulkan selanjutnya dibuat tabulasi dan dilakukan analisis untuk menentukan nilai manfaat langsung dari terumbu karang yang ada di Desa Bahoi. Mata pencaharian utama masyarakat Desa Bahoi adalah nelayan yaitu sebanyak 107 orang (60% dari total jumlah kepala keluarga Desa Bahoi). Dimana menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Desa Bahoi sangat bergantung pada hasil perairan di Desa Bahoi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan pendekatan EOP, diperoleh nilai manfaat langsung yang didapatkan dari pemanfaatan terumbu karang sebagai perikanan tangkap di Desa Bahoi yaitu sebesar  Rp. 379.746.378,-/ha/tahun.     Flood Disaster Adaptation In Mentawai District Based On Local Wisdom: Comparative Study Of Disaster-Friendly Houses (Uma)

    In the last decade, the intensity and quality of disaster threats in the Islands Mentawai have been the tallest. Experience has given birth to local wisdom in adapting to natural disasters, especially flood problems. One of the local pearls of wisdom possessed by the Mentawai people to adapt to floods is disaster-friendly houses ( Uma ). So this article was constructed to examine Uma's axiology in dealing with floods. The research method used is a qualitative approach, where data collection techniques use interviews and observation. In-depth interviews were conducted with two different community groups, namely the elite group and the lay community group consisting of 3 elite groups; traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, and 20 general public groups. Data validation was carried out using triangulation techniques and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and concluding/verification. Research findings show that Uma has strong adaptive and mitigating powers in dealing with flood disasters. Uma can be compared to the construction of developed countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, and England in adapting to flood risks. Increasingly complex climatic conditions, together with the consequences of inappropriate tourism expansion and weak land use management, have led to an increase in the frequency and severity of flooding in the Mentawais – saltwater intrusion, temperature changes, weather changes, and landslides. The Mentawai region is increasingly vulnerable to the risk of saltwater intrusion, which affects the ability to supply clean water and develop regional infrastructure.     Length-Weight Relationship and Reproduction of Spotcheek emperor Lethrinus rubrioperculatus Sato, 1978 at Napo Nain Likupang North Sulawesi

    Spotcheek emperor  L. rubrioperculatus lives in association with coral reefs, at a depth of 10-168 m. This species lives on sandy bottoms and along the outer reef slopes. The lemur fish L.rubriopercelatus is a protogynous hermaphrodite fish, there is a sex change from the female phase to the male phase. Research related to sea urchins in Likupang waters has never been carried out, even in general it is very limited in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the length-weight relationship and reproductive aspects of spotcheek emperor  at Napo Nain Likupang waters.  Length-weight relationships are growth patterns and condition factors. Reproductive aspects are the level of gonadal maturity, gonadal maturity index, and fecundity. Fish samples were caught using two types of hand lines, hook number 10 with monofilament line number 90 and hook number 12 with monofilament line number 100. Sampling was carried out three times in May, June, and July 2022. The total samples were 80 individuals. consisting of 44 male individuals with a fork length range of 14.7-22.7 cm, 42 female individuals with a fork length range of 13.0-24.0 cm, and 2 individuals of transitional elephant fish, respectively 19.5 and 20.0 cm. Male length-weight relationship W= 0.2332L2.1642 (R2=0.7881) negative allometric growth pattern. Females W = 0.0868L2.505 (R2=0.9575) negative allometric growth pattern. The condition factor for male fish is 1.03 ± 0.22 and 0.99 ± 0.12 for females. The gonadal maturity was found in May for both males and females. Gonad Maturity Index for males ranged from 0.03-0.18 and for females 0.02-1.49. Fecundity ranged from 21.035-3.9497 with an average of 31.530 ± 5.929. Abstrak Ikan lencam L. rubrioperculatus hidup berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang, pada kedalaman 10-168 m. Spesies ini hidup di dasar berpasir dan di sepanjang lereng terumbu bagian luar. Ikan lencam L.rubriopercelatus adalah ikan hermaprodit protogini, terjadi perubahan kelamin dari fase betina ke fase jantan. Penelitian berkaitan ikan lencam  di perairan Likupang belum pernah dilakukan, bahkan secara umum  di Indonesia sangat terbatas.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan panjang-berat  dan aspek reproduksi. Hubungan Panjang- berat meliputi pola pertumbuhan dan faktor kondisi di parairan Napo Nain Perairan Likupang. Aspek  reproduksi meliputi tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad dan fekunditas. Sampel ikan ditangkap dengan menggunakan dua jenis pancing ulur (hand line) mata pancing nomor 10 dengan tali monofilament nomor 90 dan mata pancing nomor 12 dengan tali monofilament nomor 100. Sampling dilakukan tiga kali pada bulan Mei, Juni dan Juli 2022. Jumlah sampel  80 individu terdiri atas terdiri dari 44 individu jantan dengan kisaran panjang garpu 14,7-22,7 cm, 42 individu betina dengan kisaran panjang garpu 13,0-24,0 cm,  2 individu ikan lencam transisi kelamin masing 19,5 dan 20,0 cm. Hubungan panjang-berat   jantan W= 0,2332L2,1642 (R2=0,7881)pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Betina  W = 0,0868L2,505 (R2=0,9575) pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi   jantan bernilai 1,03 ± 0,22  dan 0,99 ± 0,12 ikan  betina. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan yang siap memijah (TKG IV) ditemukan pad bulan Mei baik jantan maupun betina. Indeks Kematangan Gonad jantan berkisar antara 0,03-0,18 dan betina 0,02-1,49.  Fekunditas  berkisar antara 21.035-3.9497 dengan rata-rata 31.530 ± 5.929.  Hubungan fekunditas dengan panjang F=3152L0,7721 (R2=0,24340) Kata kunci : Pola pertumbuhan, Allometrik,  Gonad, Fekundita

    This study aims to determine the biometric comparison of otoliths of Banggai cardinal fish based on gender and to determine the comparison of otolith biometrics at two locations in the Waters Front of TPI Dudepo Kab. South Bolaang Mongondow and in the Lembeh Strait, Bitung City. Data collection in the field using the roaming survey method. Fishing is done by snorkelling, catching a minimum of 50 individuals representing each size class using Chang net/Sibu fishing gear. The differences in otoliths in male and female sexes have seven different otolith characters in otolith length (OL), otolith width (OW), otolith area (OA) and otolith perimeter (OP), roundness (Rnd), ellipticity (Ell) and aspect ratio (Ar), and three characters that do not show significant differences, namely form factor (Ff), circularity (Cir), rectangularity (Rec). The differences in otoliths based on location in front of the Dudepo TPI and in the Lembeh Strait have seven different otolith characters in otolith length (OL), otolith width (OW), otolith area (OA) and otolith perimeter (OP), roundness (Rnd), ellipticity (Ell). and aspect ratio (Ar), and three characters that do not show significant differences, namely form factor (Ff), circularity (Cir), rectangularity (Rec).   Keywords: Biometrics, cardinal proud fish, comparison   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingkan biometrik otolit ikan kardinal banggai berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan mengetahui perbandingan biometrik otolit pada dua lokasi di Perairan Depan TPI Dudepo Kab. Bolaang Mongondow Selatan dan di Selat Lembeh Kota Bitung. Pengambilan data di lapangan menggunakan metode survei jelajah. Penangkapan ikan dilakukan dengan penyelaman snorkling, penangkapan minimal 50 individu yang mewakili setiap kelas ukuran dengan alat tangkap Chang net/Sibu. Perbedaan otolit pada jenis kelamin jantan dan jenis kelamin betina memiliki tujuh perbedaan karakter otolit pada panjang otolit (OL), lebar otolit (OW), area otolit (OA) dan perimeter otolit (OP), roundness (Rnd), ellipticity (Ell) dan aspect ratio (Ar), dan tiga karakter yang tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, yaitu form factor (Ff), circularity (Cir), rectangularity (Rec).     Morphological characteristics of dolphinfish Coryphaena hippurus Linnaeus 1758 landed in Kalinaun Village, East of Likupang District, North Sulawesi

    This study aimed to determine the size group of fish caught, compare the morphometric characteristics between sexes, and describe the meristic characteristics of the dolphinfish Coryphaena hippurus. This study used a descriptive method. The morphometric characteristics were measured using a ruler and tape at the accuracy of 1 mm and 5 m, respectively, while the meristic characteristics were obtained by counting the number of spines. This study found a total of 57 individuals of the dolphinfish that had a size range of 48–89 cm, the male from 48 to 95 cm, and the females from 49 to 84 cm, respectively. Four morphometric parameters of male and 2 parameters of female dolphinfish could be used to predict the total length. The dolphinfish also had 59 dorsal soft rays, 25 soft pelvic rays, 22 soft pectoral rays, 26 soft anal rays, and 48 hard caudal rays. Keywords: descriptive, morphometric, meristic, size. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelompok ukuran ikan yang tertangkap, membandingkan karakteristik morfometrik antar jenis kelamin, dan mendeskripsikan karakteristik meristik ikan Lemadang Coryphaena hippurus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Karakteristik morfometrik diukur menggunakan penggaris dan meteran dengan ketelitian masing-masing 1 mm dan 5 m, sedangkan perhitungan meristik dilakukan dengan cara menghitung jari-jari sirip. Penelitian ini menemukan sebanyak 57 individu ikan Lemadang yang memiliki kisaran ukuran 48-89 cm, jantan 48-95 cm, dan betina berkisar 49-84 cm. Empat parameter morfometrik ikan Lemadang jantan dan 2 parameter ikan lemadang betina dapat digunakan untuk menduga panjang total. Ikan Lemadang juga memiliki 59 jari-jari lemah sirip punggung, 25 jari-jari lemah sirip perut, 22 jari-jari lemah sirip dada, 26 jari-jari lemah sirip dubur, dan 48 jari-jari keras sirip ekor.     The Species Composition and Density of Uca spp. at Passo Mangrove Ecosystem, Ambon City

    The violin crab Uca spp. is a benthic organism that has an ecological role in the mangrove ecosystems. Passo mangrove ecosystem is degraded which can threaten the existence of violin crabs. The study was held in May-June 2023 to analyze the species composition and density of violin crabs. The results of the study can be used as basic data for the violin crabs and their habitat management. The study was conducted at 3 stations using the purposive sampling method. Sampling of violin crabs and substrate structures at each station was carried out at the lowest low tide using the plot method randomly. Data of violin crab species were calcified based on taxon. Data of substrate are classified by presentation of each fraction. Seven species of violin crabs are found in the study namely U. annulipes, U. perplexa, U. vocans, U. mjorbergi, U. lactea, U. dussumieri, and  U. vomaris. The total density of violin crabs ranges from 8.1-29.9 ind/m2. The total highest density of violin crab is found in station 1 and lowest at station 2. Species densities differ between stations. The highest species density is U. perlexa (1.4–10.2 ind/m2), and the lowest is U. vomeris (0.0-2.1 ind/m2). Ekosistem mangrove Passo mengalami degradasi yang dapat mengancam keberadaan kepiting biola. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei - Juni 2023, yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi spesies dan kepadatan kepiting biola. Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai data dasar bagi pengelolaan kepiting biola dan habitatnya. Penelitian dilakukan pada 3 stasiun yang ditetapkan menggunakan  metode purposive sampling. Sampling kepiting biola dan struktur substrat pada tiap stasiun dilakukan saat surut terendah menggunakan metode plot yang ditempatkan secara acak. Data spesies kepiting biola dikalsifikasikan berdasarkan takson. Data fraksi substrat diklasifikasikan berdasarkan presentasi berat tiap fraksi. Selama penelitian ditemukan 7 spesies kepiting biola yaitu U. annulipes, U. perplexa, U. vocans, U. mjorbergi, U. lactea, U. dussumieri, dan Uca vomaris. Kepadatan total kepiting biola berkisar antara            8,1-29.9 ind/m2. Kepadatan total tertinggi pada stasiun 1 dan terendah pada stasiun 2. Kepadatan spesies berbeda antar stasiun penelitian. Spesies dengan kepadatan tertinggi adalah U. perlexa (1,4-10,2 ind/m2). Spesies dengan kepadatan terendap yaitu U. vomeris (0,0-2,1 ind/m2). Kata kunci: Uca spp., Mangrove,  Habitat,  Passo

    Molecular Phylogenetic Position of Bacillus sp Bacteria Isolated from Rotifer Culture Medium Based on Fisheries Waste Diet

    This study aims to identify and determine the phylogenetic position of two bacterial isolates (F0031 and F0033), isolated from culture media of Rotifer Brachionus plicatilis sp. complex. Genomic DNA of the bacteria was extracted using Qiaprep Miniprep Kit and the 16S rRNA gene was amplified using primer pairs 8F (5'-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTCAG-3') and 1492R (5'-ACCTTGTTACGACTT-3'). The sequences were analyzed using Geneious Prime ver. 2020 and bacterial identification was performed using the Basic Local Alignment Tool (BLAST) method.  Phylogenetic analysis was conducted using MEGA X, where the phylogenetic tree was constructed using the Maximum Likelihood method, and evaluated using the Bootstrap method.  Results of this study showed that both bacterial isolates (F0031 and F0033) belong to different genera, namely Bacillus (F0031) and Mesobacillus (F0033). Bacterial isolate F0031 had the closest similarity and was located at the same phylogenetic branch as B. cereus, while isolate F0033 was with M. jeotgali. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menentukan posisi filogeni dua isolat bakteri (F0031 dan F0033) yang diisolasi dari media kultur rotifer Brachionus plicatili sp. complex.  DNA genom dari isolat bakteri diekstrak menggunakan Kit Qiaprep Miniprep dan gen 16S rRNA diamplifikasi menggunakan pasangan primer 8F (5'-AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTCAG-3') dan 1492R (5'-ACCTTGTTACGACTT-3').  Hasil sekuens dianalisis menggunakan Sequence scanner ver. 2.0 dan analisis sekuens dilakukan menggunakan Geneious Prime ver. 2020.  Identifikasi isolat bakteri dilakukan dengan metode BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Tools) dan analisis filogenetik dilakukan dengan menggunakan MEGA X, dimana konstruksi filogeni menggunakan metode Maximum Likelihood yang dievaluasi dengan metode Bootstrap. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kedua isolat bakteri (F0031 dan F0033) merupakan isolat bakteri yang berasal dari genus berbeda, yaitu genus Bacillus (F0031) dan genus Mesobacillus (F0033).  Isolat bakteri F0031 memiliki kesamaan terdekat dan berada pada posisi percabagan filogenetik yang sama dengan B. cereus sedangkan Isolat F0033 dengan M. jeotgali Kata kunci: Filogeni, molekuler, bakteri, bacillus, mesobaccilus, rotifer, paka

    Community Group Participation in Maintenance of Cengklik Reservoir as a Water Resources Conservation Area

    Reservoirs are water resources that function for the needs of the community. Reservoir maintenance is carried out to maintain the conservation of water resources and inhibit sedimentation. This study aims to determine the participation of the Ngudi Tirto Lestari community group in Sobokerto Village in maintaining the Cengklik reservoir. This research uses the theory of community participation according to Keith Davis with 3 indicators: individual mental and emotional involvement, motivation to contribute, and individual responsibility. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and literature study. The results of the study are Community Group Participation in maintaining the Cengklik reservoir as a water resource conservation area in Sobokerto Village is quite good. In individual mental and emotional involvement, community groups are aware of social activities and the important benefits of maintaining the Cengklik reservoir.
