A Network Design Approach Considering Data Consistency for Delay-Sensitive Distributed Processing Systems
This paper proposes a network design approach considering data consistency for a delay-sensitive distributed processing
system. The data consistency is determined by collating the own state and the two states of slave servers. If the state is
mismatched with other servers, the rollback process is initiated to modify the state to guarantee data consistency. In the proposed
approach, the select servers and the master-slave server pairs are determined to minimize the end-to-end delay and the delay
for data consistency. We formulate the proposed approach as an integer linear programming problem. We evaluate the delay
performance and computation time. The proposed approach reduces the delay for data consistency by 6.8-31.2% compared to
that of a typical approach that collates the status of all servers at the master server. The computation time is a few seconds, which
is an acceptable time for network design before service launch. These results indicate that the proposed approach is effective for
delay-sensitive applications.conference pape

Electrical conducting properties of Na2Zn2TeO6 thick films fabricated by aerosol deposition
We fabricated Na2Zn2TeO6 (NZTO) ceramic electrolyte thick films by aerosol deposition (AD) method without applying any thermal treatment. Ball-milled NZTO powders are directly splayed onto a metallic substrate to form the thick film via impact consolidation phenomena at room temperature. NZTO film formed by AD has a thickness of 25 µm and an identical crystal structure with base powder. Ionic conductivity of as-deposited NZTO thick film was estimated to be 0.74 × 10−5 S cm−1 at room temperature. On the contrary, electronic conductivity of the film was four orders lower than the ionic conductivity. Although the ionic conductivity of as-deposited NZTO film by AD is more than one order of magnitude lower than that of sintered NZTO, obtained electrical conducting property is acceptable level for thin film sodium-ion battery application.journal articl

Effect of Ga2O3 Addition on the Properties of Garnet-Type Ta-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 Solid Electrolyte
Garnet-type Ta-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) ceramic solid electrolytes with Ga2O3 additive were synthesized using a conventional solid-state reaction process. When the amounts of Ga2O3 additive were below 2 mol %, the sintered sample has a dense structure composed of grains with an average size of 5 to 10 μm, whereas 3 mol % or more Ga2O3 addition causes a significant increase in grain size above several 10 to 100 μm, due to high-temperature sintering with a large amount of liquid Li-Ga-O phase. At room temperature, the highest total (bulk + grain-boundary) ionic conductivity of 1.1 mS cm−1 was obtained in the sample with 5 mol % Ga2O3 addition. However, this sample was shorted by Li dendrite growth into solid electrolyte at a current density below 0.2 mA cm−2 in galvanostatic testing of the symmetric cell with Li metal electrodes. The tolerance for Li dendrite growth is maximized in the sample sintered with 2 mol % Ga2O3 addition, which was shorted at 0.8 mA cm−2 in the symmetric cell. Since the interfacial resistance between Li metal and solid electrolyte was nearly identical among all samples, the difference in tolerance for Li dendrite growth is primarily attributed to the difference in microstructure of sintered samples depending on the amounts of Ga2O3.journal articl
