Evaluation of H.265 Video Delivery Based on Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) Using Mobile Devices
MPEG Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (MPEG-DASH) is a standard for HTTP streaming that allows interoperability between servers and clients from different vendors which is able to adjust the speed of video delivery to changing bandwidth. Today there is the latest H.265 video coding known as the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). This research implemented the delivery of the H.265 video through the method of Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) using mobile devices. The test was conducted by sending videos over 3G networks with GSM length video segment consists of 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds and 20 seconds. The video quality provided in this study consisted of 5 video levels with different bit rates. From the test results, the submitted videos using a smaller video segment generated greater throughput and acquired more video quality with a higher bit rate than the video to a larger segment. Video delivery with segment of 2 seconds acquired video quality with the highest level of 83%, meanwhile the video delivery segment of 20 seconds obtained video quality with the highest level of 33%
Optimal Power Flow Using Flower Pollination Algorithm: A Case Study of 500 kV Java-Bali Power System
Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is one of metaheuristic methods that is widely used in optimization problems. This method was inspired by the nature of flower pollination. In this research, FPA is applied to solve Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problems with case study of 500 kV Java-Bali power system in Indonesia. The system consists of 25 bus with 30 lines and 8 generating units. Control variables are generation of active power and voltage magnitude at PV bus and swing bus under several power system constraints. The results show that FPA method is capable of solving OPF problem. This method decreased the generator fuel cost of PT. PLN (Persero), the state-owned company in charge of providing electricity in Indonesia, up to 13.15%
Damage Detection Tool Design of Lightweight Concrete Using Optical Fiber Sensor and Phototransistor
The developments in the construction of buildings, roads, and bridges commonly use concrete as the main material due to its strength and hardiness. However, the quality of the concrete may decrease due to some factors namely the age of the concrete, temperature, pressure, tension, etc. Thus, it is important to monitor its condition to find out any small damage such as cracks. Utilizing optical fiber power loss, a sensor capable of detecting cracks on a concrete can be made. This research uses multimode fiber optic planted inside the concrete. Sensor variation model being planted is in the form of wave. The lightweight concrete is designed using plastic aggregate. A specific tool capable of responding the change of the laser power coming through the fiber optic using phototransistor is also made in this research. The concrete is tested using two testing equipment at a time namely pressure testing that uses UTM (Universal Test Machine) to assess mechanical loading. Testing out the concrete using designed result tool is done by shooting laser on one side of the optical fiber and read the output power. During the test, the concrete is loaded continually and gradually increases using the UTM. The source of the light is laser, 850 nm of length. The result of the experiment and tool testing show that when the quality of the concrete decreases, laser power output through optical fiber increases
Designing Customer Target Recommendation System Using K-Means Clustering Method
UD Swiss is a company engaged in the field of goods distribution located in Cirebon. In achieving sales targets, customer marketing department sets customer targets to be visited based on the type and location of outlets. However, the method of targeting customers does not achieve the sales target yet due to the differences in the characteristics of purchases per product category for each type of outlet. The research in this paper focuses on the analysis and implementation of management information system to help the company gain knowledge in targeting customers based on the profile and characteristics of each customer group in doing transactions. The information system is made to load each of the knowledge generated by the analysis of customers’ characteristic using the k-means clustering. The system is designed to use the programming language “Groovy and Grails” and is built using the .NET Framework that can run on the Java platform with support of PostgreSQL as a database. Grouping customers using k-means clustering method generates groups of potential customers who are considered to be the target in the process of product sales. Customers who have an average purchase at least Rp 2,028,813.00 per transaction with the minimum purchase frequency of 25 transactions a year is a potential customer
High Performance Multistring Converter Topology for Three-Phase Grid Tied 200 kW Photovoltaic Generating System
Under various external conditions, grid connected PV system performance is strongly affected by the topology that is used to connect a PV system with grid. This research aims to design a multistring based converter topology for three-phase grid connected 200 kW PV system that has a high performance in various operating conditions. Research was done by a simulation method using Matlab-Simulink with performance being evaluated including the generated power, efficiency, power quality in accordance with grid requirements, as well as the power flow. In the simulation, multistring converter topology was designed using two dc-dc boost multistring converters connected in parallel to a centralized of three-phase three-level NPC inverter with the size of the string being shorter and more parallel strings as well as the maximum voltage of the PV array of 273.5 V close to dc voltage reference of 500 V. Each dc-dc boost multistring converter have individual MPPT controllers. The simulation results showed that this multistring converter topology had a high performance in various operating conditions. This due to more power generated by the NPC inverter (> 190 kW) at the time of high power generation on the STC conditions (1000 W/m2, 25 oC), the lowest efficiency of the total system is 95.08 % and the highest efficiency of the total system is 99.4 %, the quality of the power generated in accordance with the requirements of grid, as well as the inverter put more active power to the grid and less reactive power to the grid. The response of the inverter slightly worse for loads with greater reactive power and unbalanced
