This research aims to develop and evaluate the practicality of interactive Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) to support increasing students' reasoning competence toward reading literacy in a tourism context via the Blogspot platform. This research is development research that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The method used is the Jolly and Bolitho development method. Steps taken include the following: (1) identifying material needs, (2) exploring needs, (3) contextual realization, (4) pedagogical realization, (5) material products, and (6) evaluating material according to objectives. This research involved Indonesian language teachers and 62 seventh-grade students at SMPN 20 Palembang as the research subjects. Data collection methods use interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Qualitative data analysis uses a descriptive approach, while qualitative data is analyzed using Likert scale calculations. The results of distributing the needs analysis questionnaire to students indicated that 60.32% strongly agreed, while 33.44% agreed to develop E-LKPD. Product validation was carried out by three validators, namely content validators, content suitability, and language, with a total validation value of 86.67% (very valid). The product feasibility test scored 89.16% (very practical) in the small group test. The effectiveness test for E-LKPD relied on pretest results, which averaged 61.42, and posttest results, averaging 74.85. There was a significant increase in the 2-tailed results (0.000<0.5). The results indicate that the developed E-LKPD can enhance students' reading literacy skills.

IMPLEMENTING BLOOM’S TAXONOMY IN THE ENGLISH CURRICULUM UNDER MERDEKA BELAJAR PROGRAM

    No full text
Education in Indonesia in the 5.0 era utilizes the MBKM English Education Curriculum, which is a modification of the 2013 English Education Curriculum. According to the 2019 PISA survey, Indonesia ranked 74th out of 79, indicating that the cognitive development of Indonesian children remains relatively low. The "Merdeka Belajar" (Independent Learning) strategy is a transformative step in education aimed at producing superior Indonesian human resources who embody the Pancasila student profile. This concept of independent learning emphasizes the cognitive growth of students, requiring them to think critically using their logical abilities. Bloom's Taxonomy can be interpreted as a hierarchical structure that classifies learning capabilities from the lowest to the highest levels. The cognitive, psychomotor, and affective elements are included in Bloom's three categories to categorize human learning activities. Students' intellectual capacities are developed within the cognitive domain, their skills within the psychomotor domain, and their attitudes and behaviors within the emotional domain. The problem formulation that the researcher will examine involves the implementation, factors, and impacts of Bloom's Taxonomy in the application of the MBKM English Education Curriculum in University institutions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, which is divided into three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and verification

Abstract: Asynchronous online discussion board (AODB) has turned into a crucial tool for online and blended learning, as well as some in-class teaching contexts, in higher education (HE). Despite not being initially designed for teaching, it is now prominently featured as a learning autonomy promoter. This research is henceforth crucial due to the dearth of comprehensive assessments of how a technology enables lecturers to tote out the AODB-related activities. Employing technology affordance framework helped shape this study’s discoveries. Via the 16-week observations on the five lecturers’ AODBs in Canvas LMS, this study put together four supporting features, enabling this study to capture lecturers’ efforts to set up AODBs for pedagogical process. There are instruction pages, settings, search entries for authors, replies and likes. These features led this study to lump together the interview data from three lecturers into four affordances of Canvas-mediated AODB (consisting of collaboration, flexibility, knowledge record, and monitoring and assessment) and two constraints (mobile accessibility and usability for grading). The disclosure of Canvas-mediated AODBs’ affordances and constraints may introduce some brand-new details to the realm of discussion in education. Even so, further study scrutinizing various platforms and employing a variety of lecturer profiles is highly encouraged in order to result in a wider range of facts regarding AODB in HE

Writing skills are one of the essential components in mastering a language, apart from other linguistic skills. Writing demands a profound understanding of language structure, particularly grammar. The current junior high school (SMP) curriculum integrates grammar materials into various learning modules, often causing students to be unaware that they are learning grammatical concepts. This development research aims to design an effective grammar learning module, with the hope to (1) facilitate students' understanding of grammatical concepts, (2) enhance student's writing skills with an emphasis on grammatical aspects, (3) assess the suitability of the learning module with the writing learning needs at the junior high school level, and (4) obtain feedback from educators and students regarding the implementation of the module in schools in Bekasi City. This research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) model following the 4-D model stages: definition, design, development, and dissemination. Data collection was conducted through interviews and questionnaires. Experts in content, media, and language performed module validation. The research results indicate that the implementation of the grammar learning module can have a positive impact on improving students' writing skills, as reflected in the increased writing test scores

Therefore, the present study aims to investigate the relationship among linguistic factor, psychological factor, and sociocultural factor on nursing students’ hesitancy to engage in oral communication exercises. The data were collected using a questionnaire, while the association between variables was tested using the Gamma statistical test. The participants of this study consisted of second-year nursing students in a private university in Tangerang. The sample was determined using the convenience sampling technique, which yielded a total of 195 respondents. A noteworthy correlation had been observed between the linguistic factors (p-value 0.001), psychological factor (p-value 0.001), and sociocultural factor (p-value 0,004) in connection to nursing students’ hesitancy. The correlation between factors is moderately strong, with the variables of all factors indicating a positive association with reluctance. Consequently, the higher the factors, the greater the nursing students’ willingness to speak English, and vice versa. The lecturers should hence foster a safe and accepting environment in the classroom through fostering connections between themselves and the students
