Abstract. This research examines the influence of ENSO (El Nio and Southern Oscillation) in the Malacca Strait with the southern oscillation index using the Pacific Ocean in determining the condition of Normal, El Nio and La Nina as the analysis of mass transpor of sea water, sea surface elevation and the density of the sea. The research methods using the Navier-Stokes equations with force generating tides, winds from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Year 1980- 007, salinity(Levitus and Boyer, 1994a) and temperature (Levitus and Boyer, 1994b). Equations of motion of the sea water were modeled with the model of Hamburg Shelf Ocean Model (HAMSOM). The results show that the transport in northwestern part of the Malacca Strait is lower, but in the southeastern part is stronger compared to that of in Normal and La Nina events. While in Sea Level Elevation at El Nio event is lower compared to that of in Normal and La Nina events. For sea surface density, the density values are 18.5 s/d 20.5 kg/m3 while for the later 30-50 m, the values are 19-21 kg/m3. Sea surface density and density for layer 30-50 m in th southeastern part of Malacca Strait for El Nio events are higher than that of in normal and La Nina event. Key words: Sea level elevation, sea density and Hamsom mode

Abstract. The objective of this research was to study the influence of salinity and buoyancy on hatchability of milkfish eggs (Chanos-chanos). The completely random design was used this study. Two factors i.e. salinity and buoyancy were tested where the salinity with three levels oncentration; 16, 23 and 30 ppt, while the buoyancy with three egg buoyancy categories i.e. floating, drifting and sinking with three replicates respectively. The result showed that the hatchability of floating eggs in tested salinities were 76,7% ; 78,75% ; 91,7%, for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. Then drifting eggs were 65,3%; 67,0%; 77,0% and sinking eggs were 54,0% ; 55,3% ; 65,0% for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. In generally, the hatchability was increased with increasing of salinity. In addition, the hatchability of the floating eggs was higher than the sinking eggs. Keyword: Salinity, buoyancy, hatchability, milkfish

Abstract. On March 2012, the Coastal area of Kabupaten Sukabumi, West Java, was affected by tidal flooding. This tidal flooding occured because of the supermoon phenomenon that combine with heavy rains. The potential of tidal flood disaster in Kabupaten Sukabumi coastal area requires an immediate action in order to manage the disaster. The first step to mitigate the disaster is by mapping the area that potentially affected by tidal flood. The objective of this research is to modelling the tidal flood area in coastal of Kabupaten Sukabumi. The result of this research shows that the area that potentially affected by tidal flood without supermoon phenomenon is covering 29% of the coastal area of Kabupaten Sukabumi and it is increasing to 37% when supermoon phenomenon occured

Abstract. Numerical hydrodynamics model MOHID based on General Ocean Turbulence Model formula was used to study the tidal current in Makassar waters. The data used in this model are tidal elevation and bathymetry data from GEBCO. The tidal current simulation was conducted for 30 days. Model simulation results show that the tidal current velocity ranged between 0,001 m/s 0,012 m/s. The current velocity during neap tide is smaller than the velocity during spring tide. The pattern of tidal current in Makassar waters is dominantly flows towards westward and then turned heading northward direction. The simulation result of tide-induced residual current in verification point shows that the flows is ebb-dominant at a rate of 0,005 m/s heading westward direction
