    Inventarisasi tumbuhan air di Kebun Raya Cibodas

    Abstrak. Kebun Raya Cibodas merupakan kawasan konservasi ex situ yang terletak di Cagar Biosfer Cibodas Jawa Barat. Sebagai bagian dari Cagar Biosfer Cibodas, Kebun Raya Cibodas berfungsi sebagai konservasi, penelitian, pariwisata dan pendidikan. Penelitian inventarisasi tumbuhan air bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi jenis tumbuhan air yang tumbuh di kawasan Kebun Raya Cibodas. Penelitian inventarisasi tumbuhan air dilakukan dengan metode eksplorasi pada 6 lokasi di Kebun Raya Cibodas dan pengumpulan specimen tumbuhan air untuk identifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kategori tumbuhan air emergent plants merupakan tumbuhan air yang paling banyak ditemukan di Kebun Raya Cibodas dan lokasi terbanyak ditemukan jenis tumbuhan air adalah lokasi 4 yaitu sebanyak 29 jenis tumbuhan air.Kata kunci: Tumbuhan air, Kebun Raya Ciboda

    Struktur vertikal upwelling downwelling di Samudera Hindia Selatan Jawa hingga Selatan Bali berdasarkan salinitas musiman periode 2004 2010

    Abstract. Salinity plays an important role for phenomenon identification of upwelling and downwelling. Upwelling that occurs in the Indian Ocean south of Java to South of Bali is influenced by monsoons, ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) and IOD (Indian Dipole Oscillation Mode). Upwelling and downwelling patterns based on vertical structure of salinity and its seasonal variability within seven years (2004 to 2010) is studied here. Argo Float dataset is used in this study, processed by Ferret software for a vertical schematic model, and Pearson correlated with IOD and SOI indexes. The aim of this study is to obtain the pattern of upwelling and downwelling based on profile of seasonal salinity during the period 2004-2010 in Indian Ocean south of Java Bali and correlated with ENSO and IOD. Further discussion on upwellling is provided since it is more important to the fisheries activity. Result shows an intensive upwelling phenomenon occurs at 110E correlated with fishing ground area. ENSO and IOD phenomena has been founded also affect upwelling. Upwelling increasing in intensity during the La Nina - IOD (+). The upwelling is negative linear correlated with SOI(-0,89643), but its positive linear correlated with IOD (+0,798168).Keywords : vVrtical structure salinity; Seasonal upwelling; Indian Ocean; South Java-Bali Seas.Abstrak. Salinitas berperan penting untuk mengidentifikasi fenomena upwelling dan downwelling. Upwelling yang terjadi di samudera Hindia Selatan Jawa hingga Selatan Bali dipengaruhi oleh angin musim, ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) dan IOD (Indian Oscillation Dipole Mode). Dalam peneletian ini dikaji pola upwelling dan downwelling berdasarkan distribusi salinitas secara vertikal dan vaeriabilitas musiman dikaji dalam waktu tujuh tahun (2004 2010). Data hasil akuisisi argo float digunakan dalam penelitian ini, diolah menggunakan software Ferret selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan model skematik dan analisa korelasi pearson terhadap Indeks IOD dan SOI. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memperoleh pola upwelling dan downwelling terhadap musim berdasarkan profil salinitas selama periode 2004 2010 di Samudera Hindia Selatan Jawa hingga Bali dan hubungannya dengan fenomena ENSO dan IOD.Penelitian lebih lanjut tentang upwelling penting untuk industri perikanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Fenomena upwelling secara intensif terjadi pada koordinat bujur 110BT, menunujukkan adanya kesesuaian dengan lokasi daerah penangkapan ikan. Fenomena ENSO dan IOD juga mempengaruhi upwelling, intensitasnya meningkat saat periode La Nina-IOD (+). Upwelling berkorelasi negatif terhadap SOI (-0,89643), sedangkan upwelling berkorelasi posetif dengan IOD (+0,798168).Kata Kunci: Struktur vertikal salinitas; Upwelling musiman; Samudera Hindia; Laut Selatan Jawa-Bal

    Hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi ikan gabus (Channa striata Bloch, 1793) yang dibesarkan di rawa lebak, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan

    Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate length-weight relationship and condition factor of snakehead (Channa striata) reared in different swamp pond in Sekayu and Mariana swamps of Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The study was conducted from May to November 2013. The result shows that there were no significant difference in the slope (b) between length-weight relationship of fish reared in Sekayu and Mariana swamp ponds, the fish was displayed a negative allometric growth pattern. Fish reared in Mariana swamp had condition factor 0.884 slightly higher than that in Sekayu swamp 0.839, it can be indicated that swamp environment in Mariana slightly better to support snakehead life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang berat dan faktor kondisi ikan gabus (Channa striata) telah dipelihara di rawa lebak Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin dan Mariana Kabupaten Banyuasin Provinsi Sumatera Selatan pada Mei hingga November 2013. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan panjang berat tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nyata antara rawa Sekayu dan Mariana dengan nilai b di bawah nilai 3 yang berarti pertumbuhan ikan gabus tersebut allometrik negatif. Ikan gabus yang dipelihara di rawa lebak Mariana menghasilkan faktor kondisi 0,884 lebih tinggi daripada di rawa lebak Sekayu 0,839, yang menunjukkan bahwa kondisi lingkungan rawa lebak Mariana lebih mendukung untuk pertumbuhan ikan gabus.Kata kunci: Hubungan panjang berat; Kondisi factor; Channa striata; Pembesaran; Rawa leba

    Estimasi limbah organik dan daya dukung perairan dalam upaya pengelolaan terumbu karang di perairan Pulau Semak Daun Kepulauan Seribu

    Abstract. Sea ranching activity is highly depending on the ecology of coral reef condition. Floating cages activities in Semak Daun island has potential to produce waste along with organic waste from other anthropogenic activities in land and its will lead to eutrophication causing degradation of coral reefs. This study was conducted from May to July 2013. A survey method was used to obtain primary data. Data sets also supported by secondary data. Waste loads estimation of net aquaculture that enter the waters was 1178.1 Kg/ton of fish production (N 243.9 Kg/ton of fish and P 54.1 Kg/ton of fish). Estimated of anthropogenic waste load around the Semak Daun island was 4167 Kg N and 1738.8 Kg P. Based on N load, the carrying capacity of Semak Daun Island for grouper floating cages was 32 unit (192 raft) or 2 ha of 9.99 ha area that appropriate for floating cage activities. In addition, based on dissolved oxygen, the carrying capacity was 28 units (168 raft) or 1.6 Ha of 9.99 Ha area that appropriate for floating cage activities.Keywords: Sea Ranching; Organic waste; Carrying capacity; Semak Daun Island.Abstrak. Kegiatan Sea ranching sangat tergantung kondisi ekologi terutama ekositem terumbu karang. Dengan adanya aktivitas keramba jaring apung yang terdapat di perairan Pulau Semak Daun memiliki potensi untuk menghasilkan limbah pakan bersama dengan limbah organik yang berasal dari berbagai kegiatan di darat dan apabila tidak terkendali dengan baik akan menyebabkan terjadinya eutrofikasi sehingga menyebabkan degradasi terumbu karang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2013. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Menggunakan Analisis dilakukan terhadap estimasi limbah organik dan analisis daya dukung perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan estimasi beban limbah budidaya jaring apung yang masuk ke perairan Pulau Semak Daun yaitu sebesar 1.178,1 Kg /ton ikan produksi (N 243,9 Kg/ton ikan dan P 54,1 Kg/ton ikan). Estimasi limbah antropogenik dari daratan sekitar pulau Semak Daun diperoleh 4.167 Kg N dan 1.738,8 Kg P. Berdasarkan pendekatan beban limbah N, daya dukung lingkungan perairan Pulau Semak Daun untuk pengembangan KJA ikan kerapu adalah 32 unit (192 petak KJA) atau 2 ha dari 9,99 ha luasan yang sesuai untuk kegiatan KJA. Berdasarkan ketersediaan oksigen terlarut, daya dukung perairan diperoleh 28 unit (168 petak KJA) atau 1,6 ha dari 9,99 ha luasan yang sesuai untuk KJA.Kata Kunci : Sea Ranching; Limbah Organik; Daya dukung perairan; Pulau Semak Dau

    Kebiasaan makan dan komposisi makanan tiga species cumi (Loligo edulis, Sepioteuthis lessoniana dan Sepia officinalis) hasil tangkapan nelayan dari Perairan Pantai Utara Provinsi Aceh

    Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the feeding habits of three species of squids i.e. Loligo sp. Sepioteuthis lessoniana dan Sepia officinalis which were caught in the northern sea of Aceh. The sampling was conducted from April to May 2013 in TPI lampulo, Banda Aceh. The results showed that three type of foods were recorded on the Loligo sp. i.e. fish (75.1%), shrimp (20.5%) and squid (4.4%); in the S. officinalis stomach was fish (89.9%), shrimp (10%) and crab (0.29); while inthe S. lessoniana stomach was fish (99.9%) and worm (0.1%). Hence the squids were categorized as carnivorous feeding habit where small fish and shrimp were the primary food for the squids. Keywords: Food; Fish; Shrimp; Carnivorous; Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebiasaan makan dan komposisi makanan tiga species cumi hasil tangkapan nelayan dari perairan pantai Utara Provinsi Aceh mulai April sampai Mei 2013. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode penarikan contoh secara acak sederhana yaitu dengan mengambil sampel secara acak yang mewakili semua ukuran cumi yang ad. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis makanan yang dijumpai pada lambung Loligo edulis adalah ikan (75,1%), udang (20,5%) dan cumi (4,4%); pada lambung Sepia offisinalis diperoleh jenis makanan; ikan (89,9%), udang (10%) dan kepiting (0,29%;) dan pada Sepioteuthis lessoniana ikan (99,9%) dan cacing (0,1%). Sehingga dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketiga species yang diteliti karnivora dengan ikan-ikan kecil dan udang sebagai makanan utama.Kata kunci: Makanan, Ikan; Udang; Karnivor

    Abstract. Management of marine and fisheries resources should consider the carrying capacity and assimilation capability of marine and fisheries resources. The minister regulation Number 1 year 2009 concerning the division of fisheries management zone into 11 zone (WPP) is an effort in managing of marine and fisheries resources. This study was aimed to: (1) Update base map and information at WPP and (2) Aplication of WebGIS technology to manage marine and fisheries resources. The collection data as spatial database, Geographic Information System was used to analyze the data and the presentation of information as Web GIS format.     Abstract. Indonesian waters connect the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. These waters are also highly influenced by the monsoonal climate. Current is a very important parameter in the marine environment and affect both directly and indirectly the marine environment. A study has been done in the waters of Spermonde Archipelago in Makassar Strait to develop a model of relationship between tidal current velocities and capture of small pelagic fishes at transition between west and east moonsoonal season. Insitu field data were collected for 3 (three) months, from April to June 2009. Besides that, this study also used a two-year image data (acquired from October 2007 to June 2009). Study sites were deployed in areas of fishing base of small pelagic fishes within the waters of Spermonde Archipelago, Pangkep District, South Sulawesi, particularly in areas where purse seine gears were operated by the fishermen. Distribution of current parameters, depth, wind direction and velocity, and tidal data were depicted horizontally using Surfer v 7.0 software package. Meanwhile, Surface Modelling System v 8.1. (SMS v 8.1) program was used to make prediction of the movement pattern of the surface current. Results of the analysis of current movement patterns when the waters were approaching hightide showed that water mass movement from southern region (Flores Sea) was diverted and passed through the Spermonde Archipelago to the coastline of Pangkep Regency. In contrary, when the waters were approaching ebb tide, the current from the western coast of Pangkep Regency passed the Spermonde Archipelago and diverted to the Flores Sea again. Analysis of current velocity indicated that higher current ( 0.1 m s-1) was found in offshore and tend to decrease below 0.1 m s-1 as the current passing the waters of Spermonde Archipelago. Optimal capture was obtained up to the current velocity of 0.032 m s-1 i.e. 187.9 kg, and tend to decrease with increasing current velocity. At the highest current velocity, that is 0.216 m s-1, the capture was 112 kg

    Uji kadar formalin, kadar garam dan total bakteri ikan asin tenggiri asal Kabupaten Sarmi Provinsi Papua

    Abstract. Food safety is depending on the accurence of a dangerous fisical, chemical and microbiology components. Quality of food with healty and a complete safe nutrient is the most important things in the food material. Because of food that consume influencing people brain and health. The aim of this research was to determine the content of formaldehyde, salt and Total Plate Count of bacteria in the tenggiri salty fish from Sarmi Papua. Formsaldehyde was indentificated by using cromatofat acid method as qualitative and spectrophotometer as quantitative method. Choman method was used to analize salt content. Total Plate Count (TPC) was used for bacterial content analysis. The result showed that Tenggiri salty fish from Sarmi is not contain formaldehyde. About 9.76 % to 16.31 % of salt contant and approximately 24.5 x 10- 5- 49.5 x 10 5 colony/gram of bacterial in total. This conclude that Tenggiri salty fish have already contaminated by bacterial because its higher than Standard National Indonesia obligation for fisheries product about 1 x 105 colony/gram.Keywords: Food safety, chemical and microbiology Abstrak. Keamanan pangan ditentukan oleh ada tidaknya komponen yang berbahaya secara fisik, kimia maupun mikrobiologi. Makanan yang sehat dengan kandungan gizi yang lengkap dan aman merupakan syarat mutlak yang harus dipenuhi oleh bahan pangan karena pembangunan manusia yang sehat dan cerdas tidak terlepas dari bahan makanan yang dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar formalin, garam serta total bakteri yang terdapat pada produk ikan asin Tenggiri asal Kabupaten Sarmi Provinsi Papua. Identifikasi keberadaan formalin pada ikan asin dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengujian secara kuantitatif memakai spektrofotometer sedangkan uji kualitatif menggunakan metode Asam Kromatofat. Analisis kadar garam ini menggunakan metode Khoman. Sedangkan pada penentuan keberadaan bakteri dilakukan dengan metode Total Plate Count. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa sampel ikan Tengiri asal Kabupaten Sarmi bebas formalin. Kadar garam dihasilkan rendah berkisar antara 9,76 % - 16,31 % dan Total bakteri yang dihasilkan pada pengenceran 10-5 total bakteri yang ditemukan berkisar antara 24,5 x 10-5- 49,5 x 105 koloni/gram. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa ikan asin tenggiri asal Kabupaten Sarmi telah terkontaminasi bakteri dalam kadar Standart Nasional Indonesia untuk produk perikanan dengan garam yang mensyaratkan Total Plate Count 1 x 105 koloni/gram.Kata kunci: Keamanan pangan, kimia dan mikrobiolog

    Efek pemberian dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman yang berbeda terhadap rasio pembentukan kelamin jantan ikan baung (Hemibagrus nemurus)

    Abstract. The purpose of this study was to examine the Acriflavine doses and immersion time on the sex ratio and survival rate of Bagrid catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus. The completely randomized design of factorial was applied in this research (4x2) with 3 replications. The tested doses were 0 mg/L, 2.5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, and 7.5 mg/L and immersion times were 6 hours and 12 hours. The Anova test showed that Acriflavine doses and immersion times were not influence significantly on survival rate and sex ratio of Hemibagrus nemurus. However, the highest male sex ratio was found 5 mg/L dose and 12 hours immersion time.Keywords : Bagrid catfish, Hemibagrus nemurus, acriflavine, masculinization Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman terhadap keberhasilan pembentukan kelamin jantan dan sintasan benih ikan baung yang terbaik. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (4x2) dengan tiga kali ulangan. Variabel bebas yang diukur adalah kombinasi antara dosis akriflavin (0 mg/L, 2,5 mg/L, 5 mg/L, dan 7,5 mg/L) pada lama perendaman (6 jam dan 12 jam. Hasil uji Anova menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis akriflavin dan lama perendaman tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap sintasan dan rasio kelamin ikan baung. Namun demikian hasil terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan dosis 5 mg/L akriflavin dengan lama perendaman 12 jam, yakni 61,83%.Kata kunci : Baung, Hemibagrus nemurus, akriflavin, jantanisas

    Abstract. The objective of the present study was to collect information of fishermen perceptions in Aceh Besar district. The study was conducted from June to August 2012, while the field survey conducted on 21 to 28 June 2012 at some fishing villages in Aceh Besar district namely: (a) Baitussalam and Mesjid, (b) Peukan Bada, (c) Leupung, Lhoknga and Lhoong, (d) Pulo Aceh, (e) Seulimum. The Results showed that most of respondents were in the productive age (31-45 years). The majority of the respondents have recieved subsidies from a variety of sources both government and non-governmental organizations. The common type of subsidy were in the form of goods (in kinds) namely: boats, fishing gear and boat engines, and small portion in cash. In addition, the majority of fishermen stated that the type of assistance provided was in accordance with their needs as fishermen and most fishermen are still expected that fisheries subsidies should be continued. In regard to environmental and conservation issues that most fishermen agreed with the conservation area in the district of Aceh Besar. However, most of the respondents stated that they have not been involved in conservation activities. The fishermen need training in fishing technology, post harvest and conservation.Keywords: Habitat degradation, fish, skills and capita
