    Analysis of the utilization of landsat 8 oli imagery for mapping the distribution of coral reefs in Pulau Weh Sabang

    As one of the largest archipelagic countries globally, Indonesia has diverse natural resources, one of which is the coral reef ecosystem. Coral reef ecosystems are spread across almost all Indonesian waters, and Pulau Weh Sabang is one distribution area. This study aims to determine the distribution of coral reef ecosystems and testlandsat 8 oli imagery accuracy in mapping coral reef ecosystems. The method used in this research is the nearest neighbour algorithm object-based classification method. The results showed that the coral reef ecosystem in Pulau Weh Sabang was divided into two classes: a healthy coral reef ecosystem class with 277.38 hectares and a medium condition coral reef ecosystem class with an area of 710.01 Ha.Keywords:Landsat 8 oliMappingDistributionCoral reefWeh Islan

    Condition of coral reef in Batee Island waters, Peukan Bada Sub-District, Aceh Besar

    Batee Island is one of the small islands in the Aceh Besar region and is uninhabited and directly faces the Indian Ocean. Batee Island's waters have the potential for marine biota, especially coral reef ecosystems, and other associated biotas. This study aims to determine the percentage and comparison of live coral cover in Batee Island waters and determine the genus' composition in Batee Island waters. This research was conducted in October-November 2016. Collecting coral reef data using the LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method. The results showed that the live coral cover in Batee Island's waters differed between the East and West Batee Islands. The coral reefs' average condition in Batee Island waters at shallow depths (0-5m) is 41.41%, and deep (6-10m) is 36.52%. Overall, the conditions and live coral cover in the waters of Batee Island are classified as moderate. In the waters of Batee Island, there are 31 coral genera.     Determination of potential fisheries areas based on trophic status (Case study in Situ Gede, Tasikmalaya)

    Situ Gede is one of the artificial lakes/reservoirs in Tasikmalaya, West Java. The lake has functioned as a source of household water needs, fisheries, and tourism. According to determine the development of water management requires information on the trophic status and water quality. This study aimed to obtain information on the trophic status and water quality of Situ Gede. The research was conducted in Situ Gede, Tasikmalaya, West Java, in 2018. Measurement and analysis of water quality parameters used the SNI and APHA methods, while the measurement of trophic status used the Carlson Trophic State Index (TSI). The relationship between water quality parameters and TSI scores was analyzed using Statistica version 8. Based on the analysis, the trophic status of Situ Gede ranged from 69.06-79.04, with an average of 74.61. This value indicated that Situ Gede's trophic status was on a eutrophic level. The physical and chemical parameters that affect the trophic status of Situ Gede are TP, pH, conductivity, TDS, and temperature. The TP values, conductivity, pH, and temperature at Situ Gede were still categorized as normal. The trophic of Situ Gede can be a source of fish growth. Moreover, in general, Situ Gede waters still have sufficient water quality for fish life.     The effect of chitosan levels in feed on the growth and daily feed consumption of giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy)

    Chitosan is an ingredient that can be used as a feed additive. In aquaculture, chitosan can be used as an antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant growth-promoting and immunostimulant. This study aims to determine the optimum addition of chitosan to feed to increase growth and daily feed consumption of giant gourami. The method used in this research is an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of five treatments and three replications. The treatments used were (A) without chitosan (control), (B) 2.5 g/kg feed, (C) 5 g/kg feed, (D) 7.5 g/kg feed, and (E) giving chitosan of 10 g/kg feed. The test fish used were giant gourami with a 6 8 cm length and a weight of 8 10 g. The container used was hapa measuring 1 x 1 x 1 m3 with a density of 15 fish per treatment and 42 days of maintenance. The feeding rate was 3% of the fish biomass. Data from observations of length and weight were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with a 95% confidence level; if there was a significant difference, Duncan's multiple distance test was performed. The results showed that addition of chitosan 7.5 g/kg feed was effective in improving growth on giant gourami. During maintenance, absolute length growth was 2.90 0.10 cm, absolute weight growth was 15.33 1.19 g, daily growth was 36.51 2.84%, feed conversion ratio was 1.69 0.06, and survival rate was 100 0.00%. This research concluded that the optimum level of addition of chitosan to increase growth and daily feed consumption of giant gourami was 7.5 g/kg feed.Keywords:ChitosanFeed additiveGiant gouramiGrowt

    Strategies for the development of the Bajomulyo Coastal Fishing Port, Pati, Central Java

    The fishing port has an important role in supporting activities in the fishery sector which includes serving as a place of preparation, and where to land catches as well as market them. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the level of facilities utilization at CFP Bajomulyo using SOAR and assign the development strategy. The research was carried out in January 2021 at the Coastal fishing port in Bajomulyo Village, Juwana District, Pati Regency. A descriptive method was used to analyze the condition of basic, functional and supporting facilities at CFP Bajomulyo. Data collection was carried out using survey methods and direct observations. The result showed 116% of the pier has been used (overutilized), 26% of the FAP building has been used (non-optimally), 36% of the shipping lanes depth has been used, meaning the depth is sufficient or in accordance with the required standard, and 49% of its width has been used (non-optimally). Conclusively, the development strategies suggested include making an MoU between the government of Pati Regency and Central Java Province and always considering the availability of FRS facilities, ice factories, clean water, and ship docking around CFP Bajomulyo.Keywords:Development strategyPatiCFP BajomulyoSOA

    Heavy metal content in pumpkin pond of Kutaraja Fishing Port Banda Aceh

    Fishing port scan support fishery resources management by incorporating social-economic activities to improve the local community's welfare; however, it can also negatively impact the environment by increasing waste pollution to the surrounding waters. Kutaraja Fishing Port, Banda Aceh, is one of the active fishing ports that conduct multiple activities, such as industrials, transportations, and domestic activities threatening the environment through the production of pollution such as heavy metals. The purpose of this study is to determine the concentration of heavy metals Zinc (Zn) and Chromium (Cr) and the sediment contamination level in the Kutaraja Fishing Port, Banda Aceh. This research was conducted in February 2021 at the water site of Samudra Kutaraja Fishing Port, Banda Aceh, and sampled sediments using the purposive sampling method. Samples were then analyzed for heavy metal concentration using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) instrument in the laboratory of the Aceh Industrial Research and Standardization Center (BARISTAND). The results showed that the concentration of heavy metal Zn ranged from 15.6507 - 27.2939 mg/kg. The majority of heavy metal Cr concentrations were below the test limit of 0.000, except at station 2, which was 9.1212. Both heavy metal concentrations are still categorized as low contamination criteria and still below the Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC, 2000) and the Canadian Council of Ministers for the Environment (CCME, 2002).     In vivo test of Litopenaeus vannamei infected by Vibrio using Moringa oleifera leaf extract

    This study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of Moringa oleifera leaf extract as an antibacterial agent on Litopenaeus vannamei larvae that are infected by Vibrio sp.. It was conducted in 15 March - 15 April 2019 at PT. Global Gain Superior Seeds, Pantai Cermin, North Sumatera. The research used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with five treatments and four replications. The shrimps infected by Vibrio sp. were immersed into M. oleifera leaf extract in various concentration of (A) 0 ppm, (B) 400 ppm, (C) 600 ppm, (D) 800 ppm, and (E) 1000 ppm for 15 minutes. The size of shrimp used was post-larvae 8 (length of 3.5-5 mm/ind). The best performance results of vannamei shrimps were obtained in treatment E (1000 ppm), namely length growth of 16.75 1.16 cm, weight growth of 0.92 0.89 g and survival rate of 917.87%.Keywords:Moringa oleiferaVibrio sp.Immersio
