On a Certain Subclass of Meromorphic Functions Defined by a New Linear Differential Operator
In this article, a new linear differential operator I^k (L_s^a (a_l,b_m )f(z)) is defined by using the Hadamard product of the q-hypergeometric function and a function related to the Hurwitz-Lerch zeta function. By using this linear differential operator, a new subclass L_(s,a)^(k,*) (α_l,β_m;A,B,b) of meromorphic functions is defined. Some properties and characteristics of this subclass are considered. These include the coefficient inequalities, the growth and distortion properties and the radii of meromorphic starlikeness and meromorphic convexity. Finally, closure theorems and extreme points are introduced
Disruption of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches by Microwave-assisted Oxalic Acid Pretreatment
Developing an effective pretreatment for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to ethanol is an important effort in reducing the cost of this process. Microwave-assisted pretreatment is considered a green technology that can effectively break down lignocellulosic structures. The objective of this study was to investigate the most effective temperature for microwave-assisted oxalic acid pretreatment regarding the structural characteristic changes of oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) fibers. The fibers were subjected to microwave-assisted oxalic acid pretreatment at 160"“200 °C with 2.5 minutes heating time and a liquid to solid ratio of 10. The effectiveness of the pretreatment was determined based on its delignification selectivity, morphological characteristics, and functional group changes. Microwave irradiation of OPEFB fibers at 180 ºC was effective in increasing the cellulose content by 24%. This pretreatment resulted in 1.82 delignification selectivity. More than 50% of the hemicellulose of the OPEFB was removed after this treatment, which was confirmed by a decrease of the absorption bands of functional groups at 1732 cm-1. The increase of pretreatment temperature disrupted the morphological structure of the OPEFB and removed its hemicellulose but did not change its functional groups and lignin content.

An Efficient General Family of Estimators for Population Mean in the Presence of Non-Response
This paper presents a new general family of estimators to estimate the population mean of study variable y in the presence of non-response when utilizing a known coefficient of variation of study variable y. The expressions for bias, mean squared error (MSE), and minimum mean squared error (MMSE) of the proposed family of estimators are derived up to the first degree of approximation. In addition, a numerical example and a simulation study are presented to explain the performance of the proposed estimators. It was shown that the proposed estimators perform better compared to all other relevant estimators
In Vitro Regeneration of Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.) cv. Buru Hotong
In vitro regeneration of foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.) was done using basal shoot explants of 10-day old seedlings. Explants were cultured in MS basal medium supplemented with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), kinetin, 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) and 1.5 ppm NiSO4. Shoot multiplication and root induction were done in Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal media. Plantlets were then acclimatized in rice husk charcoal, cocopeat, or mixed media. Results showed that MS basal medium containing 0.5 ppm kinetin, 2 ppm BAP, and 0.1 ppm 2,4-D was the optimal medium for shoot induction, in which 60% of explants developed direct shoot organogenesis. In addition, callus was optimally formed in MS medium supplemented by 1 ppm kinetin, 1 ppm BAP, and 0.5 ppm 2,4-D. Regenerated shoots spontaneously developed roots after being transferred into MS basal media without growth regulator. During acclimatization, the highest survival rate of plantlets (47%) was obtained in rice husk charcoal. The developed method could be useful towards improvement of this species using in vitro tissue culture techniques
Preparation of (177Lu-DOTA)n-PAMAM-[Nimotuzumab-F(abâ)2] as a Therapeutic Radioimmunoconjugate for EGFR Overexpressed Cancers Treatment
Intact monoclonal antibodies with a high molecular weight tend to have a poor pharmacokinetic profile and tumor penetration, and potential for eliciting host antibody responses. F(abâ)2 fragments smaller than intact monoclonal antibodies that still maintain antigen binding could solve this problem. The objective of this study was to optimize the digestion process of nimotuzumab, an anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody, into its F(abâ)2 fragment and investigate its potential as a therapeutic radioimmunoconjugate. Optimal conditions for digestion of nimotuzumab to its F(abâ)2 fragment were found to be 6 hours of digestion time with a pH of 3.5 and 1:100 mol ratio of pepsin to nimotuzumab. The purity of the F(abâ)2-nimotuzumab was confirmed by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis. Prior to its labeling with lutetium-177 radionuclide, the nimotuzumab-F(abâ)2 was conjugated to DOTA-PAMAM dendrimer [DOTA denotes 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid, PAMAM denotes poly(amidoamine)] to form conjugate of (DOTA)n-PAMAM-[nimotuzumab-F(abâ)2]. Radiolabeling of DOTA-PAMAM-[nimotuzumab-F(abâ)2] conjugate with 177Lu resulted in (177Lu-DOTA)n-PAMAM-[nimotuzumab-F(abâ)2] with radiochemical purity > 99% after purification with a PD-10 column. Further studies still need to be performed in order to confirm the potential of this radioimmunoconjugate as a radioimmunotherapeutic agent for EGFR overexpressed cancers
Magnetic Characterization of Sand and Boulder Samples from Citarum River and Their Origin
The Citarum River is a nationally strategic river located near Bandung, the capital city of West Java Province. The feasibility of using magnetic methods for monitoring pollution level is currently being tested in the river. Due to its location in a volcanic area, the sediments from the river are expected to be highly magnetic. In this study, sand and boulder samples from Balekambang, a relatively pristine upstream area of the river, were subjected to magnetic and geochemical characterizations to establish the baseline for unpolluted sediments. Such baseline is important for future magnetic monitoring of sediments in the river. The mass-specific magnetic susceptibility of boulder samples was found to be varied from 819.2 to 2340.5 × 10-8m3 kg-1 while that of sand samples varied from 2293.9 to 3845.3 × 10-8m3 kg-1. These high magnetic susceptibility values infer that river sediments are highly magnetic even before being contaminated by industrial and household wastes. The predominant magnetic mineral in sand samples was multi-domain magnetite while that in boulder samples was single to pseudo-single domain magnetite. These differences were supported by the results from petrographic and XRF analyses, implying that the sand and boulder samples originated from different geological formations
