    A Survey on Data Mining Algorithms and Techniques in Medicine

    Medical Decision Support Systems (MDSS) industry collects a huge amount of data, which is not properly mined and not put to the optimum use. This data may contain valuable information that awaits extraction. The knowledge may be encapsulated in various patterns and regularities that may be hidden in the data. Such knowledge may prove to be priceless in future medical decision making. Available medical decision support systems are based on static data, which may be out of date. Thus, a medical decision support system that can learn the relationships between patient histories, diseases in the population, symptoms, pathology of a disease, family history, and test results, would be useful to physicians and hospitals. This paper provides an in-depth review of available data mining algorithms and techniques. In addition to that, data mining applications in medicine are discussed as well as techniques for evaluating them and available applications of performance metrics

    Secret Channel using Video Steganography

    Video steganography is about hiding the secret message into the video as the cover media. Steganography is a technique use to secure the transmission of secret information or hide their existence. Most of the steganography software such as DeEgger Embedder and OurSecret does not have encryption algorithm to preserve the confidentiality for the secret message. OurSecret software only using simple password to keep the secrecy of the message. A simple password is not strong enough to protect the secret message, secret message will be vulnerable once the attacker successfully attack the steganography technique use to hide the secret message in the video. Furthermore, password is not an encryption algorithm. Secret message without encrypted is the vulnerability to the secret message. Confidentiality of the secret message will not be able to preserve. Hence there is a need to encrypt the secret message with stream cipher while not leaving it vulnerable to attacker. Stream cipher provide bit by bit encryption. A video steganography with embedding text with RC4 encryption cipher is design, develop and test in this project

    A Sleep-Awake Scheme Based on CoAP for Energy-Efficiency in Internet of Things

    Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) have developed Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) to enable communication between sensor or actuator nodes in constrained environments, such as small amount of memory, and low power. IETF CoAP and HTTP are used to monitor or control environments in Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M). In this paper, we present a sleep-awake scheme based on CoAP for energy efficiency in Internet of Things. This scheme supports to increase energy efficiency of IoT nodes using CoAP protocol. We have slightly modified the IoT middleware to improve CoAP protocol to conserve energy in the IoT nodes. Also, the IoT middleware includes some functionality of the CoRE Resource Directory (RD) and the Message Queue (MQ) broker with IoT nodes to synchronize sleepy status

    A Review of Defense Against Slow HTTP Attack

    Every web server poses a risk to network security threats. One of them is a threat of Slow HTTP Attack. Slow HTTP Attack exploits the working methods of the HTTP protocol, where it requires that every request from the client be fully accepted by the server before it is processed. If the HTTP request is incomplete, or if the transfer rate is very low, the server remains busy waiting for the rest of the data. If the server is storing too many busy resources, there is a denial of service. Internet users can exploit such vulnerabilities,  send incomplete data packets deliberately and requests repeatedly. When a web server is in a public network or the Internet, then protecting computer and network security is an important issue. After identifying and analyzing how the Slow HTTP attack works, as well as its attack detection, this paper describes portfolio of the work system , how to detect and how to defence against the Slow HTTP attack.     The Impact of Search Engine Optimization on The Visibility of Research Paper and Citations

    The initial criteria for evaluating a researcher's output is the number of papers published. Furthermore, for the measurement of author's research quality, the number of citations is significant.  Typically, citations are directly linked with the visibility of a research paper. Many researches had shown that the visibility of a research paper can be improved further by using the search engine optimization techniques. In addition, some research already proved that the visibility of an article could improve the citation results. In this article, we analysed the impact of search engine optimization techniques that can improve the visibility of a research paper. Furthermore, this paper also proposing some strategies that can help and making the research publication visible to a large number of users.Â

    Customer Profiling using Classification Approach for Bank Telemarketing

    Telemarketing is a type of direct marketing where a salesperson contacts the customers to sell products or services over the phone. The database of prospective customers comes from direct marketing database. It is important for the company to predict the set of customers with highest probability to accept the sales or offer based on their personal characteristics or behavior during shopping. Recently, companies have started to resort to data mining approaches for customer profiling. This project focuses on helping banks to increase the accuracy of their customer profiling through classification as well as identifying a group of customers who have a high probability to subscribe to a long term deposit. In the experiments, three classification algorithms are used, which are Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, and Decision Tree. The experiments measured accuracy percentage, precision and recall rates and showed that classification is useful for predicting customer profiles and increasing telemarketing sales
