Comparative study of mechanical properties of 3D printed macrostructures
This bachelor’s thesis presents a comparative study of the mechanical properties of various types of 3D-printed macrostructures. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on mapping the available 3D printing technologies, providing an overview of commonly used materials, and analyzing typical macrostructures applied in the context of 3D printing. Computational models are developed using the finite element method (FEM) in ANSYS software, and their results are validated through experimental measurements. The experiment utilizes a non-contact digital image correlation (DIC) technique in combination with strain gauge measurements. The aim is to analyze and evaluate the behavior of three selected structures both numerically and experimentally. The thesis provides a comparison of their strength characteristics and can serve as a foundation for optimizing the design of infill structures in functional 3D-printed components, where the balance between weight, stiffness, and reliability is crucial
Design, implementation and testing of CO2 laser for cutting and engraving
This thesis is dedicated to the design, implementation and testing of a device using a CO laser for cutting and engraving purposes. The machine was designed and constructed in order to meet the predetermined requirements for the size of the working area, the performance of the laser machine, the safety of operation and the availability of components. The technical documentation was created as part of the design and was continuously modified during implementation based on practical knowledge. The work also included connection to the power grid, optical calibration and commissioning of the equipment. The functionality of the laser system was verified by practical tests and the device was evaluated as operational. From an economic point of view, the cost of producing one prototype was evaluated and the savings that could be achieved in mass production were identified
Contemporary City and House
The diploma thesis deals with the transformation of the brownfield of the former Jasel barracks in Brno-Králové Pole between Štefánikova and Staňkova streets into a contemporary urban district. The urban concept clearly defines private and public areas by creating courtyards accessible only to residents. The design defines new public spaces as squares and pedestrian streets that connect the currently impenetrable areas. A new road for cars and public transport is created in the area with a stop for a new shalina line, which is planned in the future by the master plan. The entire proposal consists of individual staircase apartment buildings, typically with four apartments per floor. These individual apartment buildings are interconnected at the underground levels within a common mass garage. Together the apartment blocks form four units, the outer two units complementing the existing development in enclosed blocks and the middle two units forming new inner blocks. The ground floors of the houses are designed for restaurant and café businesses, services, retail, small businesses and other services. The upper floors are for residential use only. A large number of new housing units of various types and sizes are being built. A high variability of flats is ensured, from small studio flats to superior flats with roof terraces, thus reaching a wider range of interested parties. A nursery school is also proposed, due to the capacity already being reached in the surrounding nursery schools. The new nursery is also subject to planning permission. The architectural concept focuses on a dynamic south-facing roofscape to maximize sunlight for the apartments and create sunlit terraces. The roofscape has a sophisticated system of receding masses to create an unconventional architecture. This system allows sunlight to penetrate a large part of the courtyard where the sun would hardly reach in typical apartment buildings and also provides sunlight to a larger part of the facades. The entire roofscape gradually slopes down towards the south side of the world, so the mass is highest on the north side and lowest on the south side. This effect creates a dynamic architecture consisting, imaginatively, of individual cubes that are set back from each other at different angles. The whole concept therefore works with cubes that recede or layer on top of each other. This principle is not only used in the roofscape, but is also interwoven into the facades of all the blocks. Again, by receding the individual masses, this time in the vertical plane of the façade, an imaginary chessboard is created on the façades, with the receding masses forming the loggias of the individual flats, which alternate vertically and horizontally. These set-back masses within the facades respect the roof masses and the whole therefore appears harmonious and mutually supportive. The newly designed blocks respect the urban structure of the city, however, the architecture of these houses is deliberately not conceived in a completely traditional way and thus differs from the existing buildings, due to the monotonous endless length of Štefánikova Street, which currently has no distinct clue for passers-by. Brno City New Municipal Building
The thesis focuses on the design of a new complex for the Brno City Hall as a key public building within the emerging Brno-Trnitá district, and its placement within the local context. The project responds to the current need for centralizing municipal administration, increasing the accessibility of services for citizens, and creating a modern institution that meets the demands of the 21st century. The new city hall integrates administrative functions with community life, public space, and the surrounding urban structure. The design is based on the belief that a public institution should be more than just an administrative building. The aim is to create a representative yet vibrant, accessible, and well-connected part of the city district. The city hall is conceived as an everyday urban space – a place not only to handle official matters, but also to spend time, meet others, work, or relax. The architecture promotes openness, legibility, and trust in public institutions, making the city hall an integral part of urban life. The building is situated at a strategic corner between a newly planned urban boulevard and a linear park created through the transformation of existing railway infrastructure. In this context, a complex of three interconnected buildings is formed – the representative Building A, the municipal Building B, and the community-oriented Building C – together forming an open and dynamic urban ensemble that responds to various surrounding conditions. The architectural language of the project is defined by dynamic forms with rounded edges, prominent cantilevers, and a mix of horizontal and vertical elements. The spatial layout divides public, community, and administrative functions into a clear vertical structure. The first two floors serve the public, including an entrance hall, customer service center, café, gallery, community halls, and a restaurant. From the third floor upward, flexible office floors are organized with an emphasis on natural lighting, orientation, and adaptability. The underground levels are dedicated to parking, logistics, and archives. The structural system combines a reinforced concrete frame with stabilizing cores and a modular layout that varies based on the character of each building. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to design sanitary and gas installations in a storage hall with administration and their connection to public engineering networks. The hall consists of a skeleton reinforced concrete structure and the administration is a two-story brick building containing sanitary facilities for employees. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the management of rainwater falling on the investor's land. Comparison of Consolidated Financial Statements Prepared According to Czech and Danish Legislation
The thesis focuses on the differences in the legilative framework of consolidated financial statements in the Czech Republic and Denmark. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts and requirements for consolidation in both countries. The analytical part describes the consolidation process using model examples, applying all methods in accordance with Czech and Danish legal regulations. The final part focuses on examining the differences in corporate income tax regulations and the economic evaluation of consolidated financial statements using financial analysis
Fast calculation of optical parameters of the system of saturated magnetic lenses
This diploma thesis is focused on analytic representation of axial magnetic field profiles, their interpolation and the speed of numerical calculation of optical parameters of a system of saturated electromagnetic lenses. The model situation here is the behavior of the condenser lens system of a transmission electron microscope, but the whole calculation is designed so that it can be easily modified for any system of magnetic lenses. The code was written in the Python programming language and uses vectorization to speed up the calculation. The algorithm is then used to optimize the parameters of the condenser lens system in a scanning mode
Sheet metal cutting with laser machines
The bachelor thesis focuses on selected technologies for cutting sheet metal parts with a special focus on laser cutting and its application in an industrial environment. In the theoretical part, firstly the production solution options are described, followed by a detailed analysis of laser machines (CO, fibre and disk lasers), their advantages, disadvantages and areas of application. Furthermore, the work presents an overview of the world's most important laser machine manufacturers and emphasizes automation, safety and environmental aspects of operation. In the practical part, a technological procedure for cutting the frame of the enclosure was proposed, which includes the choice of material (EN DC01 with a thickness of 2 mm), laser parameters and optimization of the cutting plan with a semi-finished product availability of up to 86.9%. A evaluation is also included, which shows the time and cost of laser cutting and the following production operations. The result is a detailed analysis of laser production with a theoretical basis for this unconventional technology. Laser cutting represents an ideal compromise between accuracy, speed and operating costs
Residential Building
The bachelor thesis focuses on the preparation of project documentation for the construction of a residential building in České Meziříčí. The residential building is five-storeyed, of which four floors are above ground and one floor is underground. On the underground floor there is a cellar for individual flats, a common room, a technical room and a cleaning room. The main entrance to the building is located on the first floor. On this floor there is also a vestibule, a carriage room, a corridor, storerooms and five apartments with a terrace of 2+kk and 3+kk. The second and third floor is absolutely identical, here is a carriage room, warehouses, corridor and five apartments with balcony of 2+kk and 3+kk. On the fourth floor there is a corridor, a carriage room, warehouses, three flats with balconies of 2+kk and 3+kk and two offices with balconies. In total, there are 18 residential units and 2 office premises. The apartment building is equipped with an elevator. The construction system is brick. In the above-ground floors the masonry is designed of ceramic blocks, on the underground floor, the perimeter masonry is made of concrete blocks from lost formwork. The ceiling structures are reinforced concrete monolithic. The roof structure consists of a flat roof. The residential building is insulated with certified ETICS contact insulation system
