Self-defence in Criminal Law
No full textSelf-defence in Criminal Law Abstract This thesis examines the legal institute of self-defence in criminal law, focusing on its theoretical foundations and practical problems, with special attention paid to the understudied concept of premature (self) defence. Combining an analysis of historical development, theoretical evaluation and legislative critique, it provides a comprehensive overview of self- defence as a circumstance excluding liability. The work traces the historical development of necessary defence in Czech law, emphasising its roots in natural law and its codification in response to social needs. Key elements such as the direct threat of attack, the attack itself and its definition, the interests protected by the criminal law, and the not entirely obvious disproportionality are examined, along with variations in the form of excesses, premature (self) defence and its assessment, depending on the circumstances, as either a putative self-defence or a circumstance excluding liability sui generis as a performance of a duty. The thesis advocates that premature defence should be qualified in cases fulfilling the performance of the obligation laid down in Section 367 of the Criminal Code as a separate legal construct, not as an excess. Social work with soldiers, war veterans, and their families.
No full text(in English): This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of social work with soldiers, war veterans and their families. The aim of this research probe is to analyze the specifics of the social services field, especially in the context of soldiers' return to civilian life, dealing with trauma associated with war experiences, and supporting families facing challenges associated with the military environment. The role of social workers in providing support to families of soldiers and war veterans is also described within the framework of the bachelor thesis. We identify specific challenges faced by families and analyze social work strategies to strengthen family relationships and ensure overall well-being. Overall, the main aim of this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding and improvement of social work in this specific area of the military environment, with an emphasis on supporting soldiers, veterans and their families in overcoming the challenges associated with military service and subsequent return to civilian life
Legal Binomials in Old Bailey Corpus
No full textThesis abstract Binomials are expressions occurring in almost every legal text. Although they stand for markers of such texts, there is no definition of what features should legal binomials have. A number of works subsume within the concept of binomial any combination of two words such as 'ladies and gentlemen' or 'four by four' but legal binomials tends to be fixed as their meaning needs to be precise and unmistakable. It is therefore important to emphasize the features of legal binomials that separate them even from other types of binomials. This work seeks to answer this question by probing into the Old Bailey Corpus and searching for adjectival binomials that evince affiliation to the legal language. The corpus contains both spoken and written language of the proceedings with the speakers and scribes of various social background and therefore offers an opportunity to explore the breadth of the use of binomials in legal environment. The Old Bailey Corpus also keeps records of who used the binomial, in which procedural part of the proceedings and what was the overall result of the proceedings. There is no ambition to connect each binomial with ever trial it occurred in but to gain a general idea of what is the intended use of the expressions in the legal environment. No full textTomáš BÁRTA PRAŽÁK, Baroque humanist-preacher Emmanuel Ernst von Waldstein at the Metropolitan Chapter of St. Vitus in Prague, Praha 2023. Abstract The disserta�on presents the personality of Emmanuel Ernst von Waldstein through his own work in one of the stages of his life before he became bishop in Litoměřice. The actual content is divided into two main sec�ons: 1. Introductory study on the personality of Emmanuel Ernst von Waldstein, and 2. Edi�on of manuscript sermons. In the first part, Waldstein is presented in a broader context in the form of a biography, highligh�ng the significance of his extensive writen estate, which is also presented here; what is not neglected, of course, is Waldstein's preaching ac�vity including the interpreta�on of selected texts. Some data within Waldstein's biography have been revised, for example, informa�on about his birth and leisure ac�vi�es. Among other things, informa�on on some sources has been clarified. As far as Waldstein's sermons themselves are concerned, it is obvious that he reflected contemporary prac�ce in them, using the current knowledge and relevant facts of the cited authori�es. For the second part of the disserta�on, the primary source was a set of sermon concepts of 1746-1755 writen by Emmanuel Ernst von Waldstein, which were mostly writen in Czech (only..
Race car brake cooling development
No full textHlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je návrh chladicího systému brzd pro monopost Formule Student ED5 týmu TU Brno Racing. Na základě provedené rešerše a prostorových omezení daných konstrukcí vozidla bylo jako nejvhodnější řešení chlazení brzd určeno použití chladících kanálů, a to díky jejich jednoduchosti, účinnosti a relativně nízké hmotnosti. Byly navrženy tři odlišné konfigurace chladících kanálů, které se liší polohou výstupu vzhledem k brzdovému třmenu, s cílem dosáhnout maximálního chladicího výkonu. Pro zhodnocení účinnosti těchto konfigurací byly provedeny simulace pomocí computational fluid dynamics (CFD) při referenční rychlosti vozidla 60 km/h, přičemž byly zohledněny průměrné hodnoty tepelného toku získané z telemetrických dat předchozích vozidel týmu TU Brno Racing. Výsledky těchto simulací posloužily jako podklad pro výběr nejefektivnějšího návrhu

No full textThe subject of this bachelor thesis is the preparation of project documentation at the level of detailed design (DPS). The proposed building is a residential apartment house located in the city of Kroměříž, situated on a plot with sloping terrain. The structure is designed as a detached four-storey building with a single-layer flat roof, comprising three above-ground floors and one underground floor. The underground floor serves as an underground garage with a total capacity of nine parking spaces, one of which is designated for persons with reduced mobility. This level also contains the main entrance to the building and technical facilities, including a technical room and an air-handling (HVAC) room. The above-ground floors are designated for residential use, with four apartment units of varying layouts located on each floor. The building features a wall structural system. The above-ground floors are constructed from ceramic masonry blocks, while the underground floor consists of monolithic reinforced concrete walls. The building is founded on a reinforced concrete base slab, with waterproofing designed as a black tank system. The floor structures are monolithic reinforced concrete slabs. The external envelope of the building is insulated using an ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System)

Tool for generating cyber-attacks
No full textThe ability of defensive (blue) teams to effectively respond to cyber threats is essential for maintaining an adequate level of cybersecurity. Tools capable of automatically generating cyberattacks and responding to the defensive actions of these teams can be highly beneficial for their training. This thesis aims to develop a tool that, through the use of predefined scenarios, enables blue teams to train and improve their defensive capabilities. This goal is achieved by creating a web application built on the Django framework, utilizing MongoDB for storing test-related data, in which actions are categorized according to the MITRE ATT&CK framework. The solution integrates tools such as Nmap and Metasploit, and collects network traffic using Arkime. All core components are deployed using Docker technology. The result is a functional system for executing cyberattacks, capable of adapting to the activity of the defending team. The tool’s capabilities are validated through three predefined scenarios, each presenting a different defensive reaction and a corresponding adaptive response from the tool. The final section discusses the tool’s current functionality, its limitations, and outlines potential future extensions and development directions
