K-POP community and fanfiction
This master thesis contains an introduction to the problematic of K-pop fanfiction through research on the behaviour and preferences of Czech and Slovak readers and authors of these fan texts. Two research methods were used for this purpose: a questionnaire survey for readers and semi- structured interview for authors. These methods were used to investigate the language preferences of readers, the importance of selected aspects for readers, the typical age to start reading K-pop fanfiction, the support from authors towards their reading community, the influence of artist behavior on fanfiction texts and the choice of artists to write K-pop fanfiction. The results of the work drew attention to the fact that the choice of language for readers and authors does not have to correspond with their native language, the importance of some aspects does not match with the readers' satisfaction with those aspects, mutual support takes place on several levels, the behaviour of artists has a significant influence on fanfiction writings, and the selection of K-pop groups to write about is primarily based upon authors' favourite groups. Last but not least, the results of the research revealed the typical age of introduction to K-pop fanfiction was below twenty for the majority of readers in the research group. In..
Administrative action in the context of the imprisoned person's right
Administrative action in the context of the imprisoned person's rights Abstract The thesis deals with the constitutionality of excluding judicial review of decisions to impose a disciplinary penalty of the convicted person serving an unconditional prison sentence. Firstly, it deals with the categorization of administrative action, in the context of the rights of convicted persons. It addresses the manner in which public subjective rights are interfered with and secondly, how the division of types of administrative actions influences their rights, in the light of current jurisprudential developments. It does so within the framework of assessing the specific environment of filing administrative actions by convicted persons serving a sentence, where it deals more with circumstances worthy of special consideration, such as the information deficit. Furthermore, the imposition of disciplinary penalties in prisons is being discussed. It examines the regulation of the judicial review regime, depending on the type of disciplinary penalty imposed. The thesis analyses the jurisprudential development, concerning the specification of which decisions will be reviewable in the administrative judiciary, and which will not. Regarding the above, the author asks the question whether the given regulation is constitutional,..
Constitutional and Legal Context of Act No. 143/1947 Coll.: The Act on the Transfer of Ownership of the Property of the Hluboká Branch of the Schwarzenberg Family to the Czech Lands
1 Constitutional and Legal Context of Act No. 143/1947 Coll.: The Act on the Transfer of Ownership of the Property of the Hluboká Branch of the Schwarzenberg Family to the Czech Lands Abstract Among the most important restitution cases in the Czech Republic are the proceedings concerning Act No. 143/1947 Coll., on the transfer of the property of the Hluboka branch of the Schwarzenberg family to the Czech lands, also known as the "Lex Schwarzenberg". The thesis deals in detail with this law and the ensuing litigation, mainly focusing on the constitutional and legal context. The purpose of the thesis is to conduct a detailed analysis of Act No. 143/1947 Coll. and the related proceedings before the Constitutional Court. Given the frequent criticism that this law faces from the professional public, as well as the approach of the Czech courts to its application, this thesis aims to comprehensively understand the reasons for which Law No. 143/1947 Coll. is described by experts as unconstitutional, when its constitutional conformity has long been assumed by the Constitutional Court. At the same time, this split between the views of the Constitutional Court and the views of a section of the professional public should be described and critically evaluated. Methodologically, the work is based on descriptive analysis..

Ballet school graduates in 1960's Czechoslovakia in oral-history perspective
This thesis deals with ballet dancers before 1989 in the former Czechoslovakia. The specific group chosen are dancers born in the 1940s. Based on a historical probe into their working and personal lives, the work points to some of the continuities and discontinuities in the history of ballet art in Czechoslovakia. Furthermore, the thesis analyses the subjectivities of these dancers and points to one of the possible reasons for the problematic social status of dancers in our society. The chosen methodology relies on oral-historical sources in combination with literature and other sources. Key words Dance, ballet, dancers, theatre, subjectivity
Council of Czech Television: Considerations de lege lata and de lege ferenda
71 Council of Czech Television: Considerations de lege lata and de lege ferenda Abstract The thesis focuses on the analysis of the composition of the Council of Czech Television within the context of the current legal framework. The topic is particularly relevant due to recent changes in the Council's composition and the broader public debate on the role of public service broadcasters. The thesis examines the historical development of dual television broadcasting and defines the theoretical concept of public service in the field of broadcasting. It further explores its current form and the tasks outlined in Act No. 483/1991 Coll., on Czech Television. A key theme of the thesis is the process of appointing Council members and the issue of its independence, which is critically evaluated. Based on a comparative analysis with the German model of broadcasting councils, the thesis identifies weaknesses in the current legal framework, including excessive political influence on member nominations. It proposes de lege ferenda solutions aimed at addressing these shortcomings and enhancing the plurality and transparency of the Council's composition process. The comparative section highlights the benefits of the German model, such as broader representation of civil society and clear rules for member selection. The de..
Working with children's emotions in kindergarten
The thesis brings a theoretical insight into the issue of children's emotions and the development of emotional intelligence in preschool age. Initially, it focuses on the development of preschool education and continues to investigate the work with children's emotions both in the family and in the school environment. Subsequently, it mentions the development of children's emotional intelligence, especially its development in kindergarten. The work underlines the importance of guiding children to understand and regulate their own emotions. At the same time, the work focuses on the emotional intelligence of the teacher and his competence to deal with the topic. The practical part focuses on the amount of intentional guidance of children in recognizing, understanding and regulating their emotions in kindergarten. The results are achieved using a semi-structured interview with pedagogues
Development and Validation of a Novel Fluorescent Sensor of the Sphingosine-1-phosphate Receptor 1
5 Abstrakt (anglicky) G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) form a large family of membrane receptors that regulate essential physiological processes due to their pivotal role in cellular signaling. One of the GPCRs is the sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor (S1PR1) which regulates numerous cellular processes within the vascular and immune systems. S1PR1 plays a role in the development and maintenance of blood vessel integrity and is crucial for the migration of lymphocytes from lymph nodes into lymphatic circulation. For instance, due to its role in T-cell migration, S1PR1 represents an attractive target for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Despite the importance of S1PR1, reliable sensors for studying its activity are not available. Genetically encoded fluorescent sensors based on circularly permuted GFP (cpGFP) offer an innovative approach to monitoring GPCR activity. CpGFP fluorescence changes depending on the activation and conformational changes of the given GPCR, enabling intensiometric measurements of GPCR activity. These sensors allow for non-invasive tracking of receptor conformational changes during activation. Our goal was to design and develop a fluorescent sensor specific to S1PR1 using molecular biology techniques. In the subsequent validation phase, we tested the responsiveness of this..
The Role of Financialization in Contemporary Political Economy: A Unified Heterodox Economic Analysis
Kvantitativní analýza využívá ekonometrický model nejmenších čtverců (OLS) k prozkoumání vztahu mezi růstem finančního sektoru a rostoucí inflací jakožto ukazatele ekonomické nestability v Íránu.
Bioarchaeology as a tool for interpreting the life of past populations
For more than fifty years, bioarchaeology has been a highly complex scientific discipline investigating skeletal finds from archaeological contexts. In the course of its development, bioarchaeology has undergone significant evolution and has split into several geographically and methodologically specific subfields. The present work provides a brief introduction to the American concept of bioarchaeology, its historical development, and the methodological and theoretical framework and underlying themes it addresses. Extending and counterpointing the theoretical introduction are fourteen articles I co-authored that represent multidisciplinary research from the Czech Republic. The purpose of this juxtaposition is to compare the state of our scientific retrospective environment with the distinctly dynamic environment of American bioarchaeology. From this comparison emerges a number of problems shared by our and the American environments and different approaches to solving them. The paper highlights several elements of American bioarchaeology whose adoption into our environment could bring about a more significant implementation of bioarchaeology in our retrospective environment
