Properties of non-Berwaldian Randers metric of Douglas type on 4-dimensional hypercomplex Lie groups

    Get PDF
In this paper, we first obtain the non-Berwaldian Randers metrics of Douglas type on 4-dimensional hypercomplex simply connected Lie groups. Then we give the S-curvature formulas for the non-Berwaldian Randers metric of Douglas type on these spaces. We also give some geometric properties and results on these spaces. We show that there is not any non-Berwaldian Randers metric of Douglas type on these Lie groups which have vanishing S-curvature and these spaces are never naturally reductive. Finally, we determine the geodesic vectors of Randers metrics on 4-dimensional hypercomplex simply connected Lie groups

“Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow”: Reflecting the Ukrainian National Mood

The article investigates the Ukrainian folk song “Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow”, recognised for its opening verse, and examines its historical, cultural, and social dimensions, alongside its various adaptations. By addressing questions of authorship and the folklore origins of the song, this study explores its transformations in response to prevailing socio-political contexts. The endurance of this tradition is traced from the Cossacks to the Sich Riflemen, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and the modern Armed Forces’ soldiers of the Russo-Ukrainian War, as well as civilians. The research reveals the song’s dynamic interplay between historical tradition and contemporary relevance. The findings highlight the song’s power in building collective identity and expressing aspirations for independence, resistance and endurance

At the time of publishing this article, a hundred years have passed since the coup attempt, which was a severe shockto the newly independent Republic of Estonia. The uprising, which took place in theearly hours of December, occurred during a period when efforts were underway torestore the activities of the Estonian Defence League. A trial had just concluded for149 communists, and intense mutual espionage was taking place between Estoniaand the Soviet Union. The coup plotters had received support from the Soviet Union.Although, in the 1920s, the Red Army was seen in Estonia as the most likely militarythreat, the likelihood of the materialisation of this threat has not been studied indepth. This article attempts to shed light on how likely Estonian defence authoritiesconsidered a Red Army attack, both before and immediately after the coup attempt, based on archival sources
