La adaptación del politainment a YouTube: el uso de los partidos políticos españoles durante la campaña electoral de abril de 2019
El concepto de politainment alude a la progresiva adaptación por parte de actores políticos y mediáticos a la lógica de la cultura del entretenimiento. Este fenómeno ha sido extensamente estudiado en el medio en el que nació, el televisivo; sin embargo, conforme las plataformas digitales ganan un mayor protagonismo como fuente de información política, el politainment ha encontrado en ellas un nuevo espacio en el que desarrollarse. Así, ciertas técnicas relacionadas con este fenómeno se presentan ante los partidos políticos como una forma sencilla de acercar sus mensajes a nuevas audiencias. Este trabajo busca demostrar la creciente traslación y adaptación del politainment a plataformas digitales como YouTube, además de analizar su uso como recurso electoral por parte de los principales partidos políticos españoles. Se ha llevado a cabo en un análisis de contenido de una muestra de los vídeos subidos a YouTube por los cinco principales partidos políticos españoles durante el periodo electoral de las elecciones generales de abril de 2019. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el uso de técnicas de politainment no es aún mayoritaria en la plataforma en su conjunto, pero que existen importantes diferencias en el grado en el que los distintos partidos recurren a las mismas
Longer breastfeeding duration is associated with lower consumption of ultraprocessed foods in a sample of spanish preschoolers: The SENDO project
Background: Breastfeeding has been linked to a higher consumption of fruit and vegetables at ages 4 to 5 years. More recently, it has been suggested that it may also be associated with lower ultraprocessed food (UPF) consumption in childhood.
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess whether breastfeeding duration was associated with consumption of UPF in a sample of Mediterranean preschoolers.
Design: This study involved a cross-sectional analysis of baseline information of children in the Child Follow-Up for Optimal Development cohort. Children were enrolled at ages 4 to 5 years and information was gathered through an online questionnaire completed by parents. Dietary information was collected with a previously validated semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire and foods were classified based on the degree of processing according to the NOVA classification.
Participants/setting: This study used baseline information for 806 participants enrolled in the Child Follow-Up for Optimal Development cohort between January 2015 and June 2021 in Spain.
Main outcomes measures: Main study outcome measures were difference in grams per day and in the percentage of total energy intake from UPF consumption related to breastfeeding duration, and odds ratio that UPF represents a high percentage of total energy intake.
Statistical analyses: Crude and multivariable adjusted estimates were calculated with generalized estimating equations to account for intracluster correlation between siblings.
Results: The prevalence of breastfeeding in the sample was 84%. After adjusting for potential confounders, children who were breastfed for some time reported significantly lower consumption of UPF than children who were not breastfed at all. The mean differences were -19.2 g (95% CI -44.2 to 10.8) for children who were breastfed for <6 months, -42.5 g (95% CI -77.2 to -7.80) for those who were breastfed for 6 to 12 months, and -43.6 g (95% CI -79.8 to -7.48) for those who were breastfed for 12 months or more (P value for trend = 0.01). After adjusting for potential confounders, compared with children who were not breastfed, those who were breastfed for ≥12 months had consistently lower odds of UPF representing more than 25%, 30%, 35%, and 40% of total energy intake.
Conclusions: Breastfeeding is associated with lower consumption of UPF in Spanish preschoolers
Building scientific knowledge in English: integrating content, cognition and communication in secondary school CLIL biology
Background: The focus of this paper is on Dalton-Puffer’s construct of the Cognitive Discourse
Function (CDF) (2013), which offers CLIL teachers a practical framework through which they can
more easily understand the complex idea of integrating the content, cognition, and language
required for their subject. These functions have mainly been addressed from classroom
observations or task prompts, and little is known about their teachability and effectiveness on
students’ content knowledge.
Purpose: This paper explores whether the CDF of ‘comparing’ (a subcategory of ‘classify’) can
be taught to Spanish seventh-grade CLIL biology students (N = 37) and examines the effect of
teaching it explicitly on their written performance.
Method: An operational framework was developed to define this CDF and an exploratory study
was performed in which students were asked to hand in written comparisons. Quantitative and
qualitative pre-and post-tests were applied.
Results: Significant results were obtained for the experimental groups, which improved in both
content and language learning, scoring higher on inclusion of content points, justification of
their scientific claims, concept formation and use of lexico-grammatical forms.
Conclusion: These findings add to our understanding of the importance of integrating
cognition and language in teaching and learning natural sciences, within which CDFs can be a
useful starting point
Effect of low-and non-calorie sweeteners on the gut microbiota: A review of clinical trials and cross-sectional studies
Use of non-nutritive sweeteners (NNSs) has increased worldwide in recent decades. However, evidence from
preclinical studies shows that sweetener consumption may induce glucose intolerance through changes in
the gut microbiota, which raises public health concerns. As studies conducted on humans are lacking, the
aim of this review was to gather and summarize the current evidence on the effects of NNSs on human gut
microbiota. Only clinical trials and cross-sectional studies were included in the review. Regarding NNSs (i.e,
saccharin, sucralose, aspartame, and stevia), only two of five clinical trials showed significant changes in gut
microbiota composition after the intervention protocol. These studies concluded that saccharin and sucralose
impair glycemic tolerance. In three of the four cross-sectional studies an association between NNSs and the
microbial composition was observed. All three clinical trials on polyols (i.e, xylitol) showed prebiotic effects
on gut microbiota, but these studies had multiple limitations (publication date, dosage, duration) that jeopardize their validity. The microbial response to NNSs consumption could be strongly mediated by the gut
microbial composition at baseline. Further studies in which the potential personalized microbial response to
NNSs consumption is acknowledged, and that include longer intervention protocols, larger cohorts, and
more realistic sweetener dosage are needed to broaden these findings
Phenotyping the obesities: reality or utopia?
In this thematic issue on phenotyping the obesities, prominent international experts offer an insightful and comprehensive collection of articles covering the current knowledge in the field. In order to actually capture all the polyhedral determinants of the diverse types of obesity, the granularity of the phenotypic information acquired must be expanded in the context of a personalized approach. Whilst the use of precision medicine has been successfully implemented in areas like cancer and other diseases, health care providers are more reluctant to embrace detailed phenotyping to guide diagnosis, treatment and prevention in obesity. Given its multiple complex layers, phenotyping necessarily needs to go beyond the multi-omics approach and incorporate all the diverse spheres that conform the reality of people living with obesity. Potential barriers, difficulties, roadblocks and opportunities together with their interaction in a syndemic context are analyzed. Plausible lacunae are also highlighted in addition to pointing to the need of redefining new conceptual frameworks. Therefore, this extraordinary collection of state-ofthe-art reviews provides useful information to both experienced clinicians and trainees as well as academics to steer clinical practice and research in the management of people living with obesity irrespective of practice setting or career stage

Los dos agentes fundamentales e irreemplazables en la educación de la persona son la
familia y la escuela. La familia es una comunidad relacional que históricamente ha pasado por
varias etapas, pero siempre ha tenido un papel principal en la educación, adaptándose a las
circunstancias de la sociedad de la época. Una estrecha relación entre familia y escuela ha
demostrado una mejora de los resultados académicos y una mayor estabilidad emocional de los
alumnos. La herramienta fundamental que facilita esa relación es la acción tutorial, llevada a
cabo por el tutor. El colegio debe reconocer en la figura del tutor una pieza clave de la
institución educativa y establecer unas condiciones adecuadas para el desarrollo de esta labor.
Además de la tutoría individual, se ha encontrado que las escuelas de padres y tutorías
familiares contribuyen a compartir los elementos que cada familia encuentra más útiles para la
formación de sus hijos.The two essential and irreplaceable agents in the education of the individual are the
family and the school. The family is a relational community that has historically gone through
several stages, but has always played a major role in education, adapting to the circumstances
of the society of the time. A close relationship between family and school has demonstrated
improved academic results and greater emotional stability in pupils. The fundamental tool that
facilitates this relationship is tutorial action, carried out by the tutor. The school must recognise
the figure of the tutor as a key part of the educational institution and establish appropriate
conditions for the progress his work. In addition to individual tutoring, it has been found that
parent schools and family tutorials contribute to sharing the elements that each family finds
most useful for the education of their children
Hybrid additive manufacturing of AISI H13 through interlayer machining and laser re-melting
Heat accumulation along the deposited layers in AM is an important issue that may lead to shape distortions. In this context, the present paper is aimed at analysing the feasibility of interlayer post-processing of depositions to improve interlayer bonding and process performance. Concretely, the use of interlayer machining and laser remelting is tested and their effect on the porosity, mechanical properties and component distortion is analysed. Additionally, the results obtained after each interlayer post-processing technique were compared with an asdeposited sample to analyse the benefits of the hybrid additive manufacturing approach on the generated parts. Samples post-treated through machining showed the lowest deformation. As for the porosity, laser remelting post-processing led to best results. Hardness was also tested along the height of samples and it was observed that it increases in build direction for all the cases tested. Highest hardness values were obtained for the samples post-processed through machining
