Recent developments in tetraquark studies at LHCb
This proceeding presents recent developments in tetraquark studies, with a focus on analyses conducted by the LHCb collaboration. Key highlights include the observation of the tetraquark candidate in the di- prompt production channel in collisions being the first exotic candidate. Furthermore, the discovery of the first open flavor tetraquarks, the and in the decay is reported. This decay does not only provide an excellent environment to study exotic hadrons in the channel, but also gives insight into charmonium(-like) states in the production system. This is also exploited in the channel where a simultaneous description of the charge conjugate modes provides a fit sensitive to the spin-parity quantum numbers of the resonances. Three new charmonium(-like) states have been confirmed while also measuring their quantum numbers and previously observed tetraquark states in a new production system
Exotic spectroscopy at LHCb
The LHCb experiment is designed to study the properties and decays of heavy flavored hadrons produced in pp collisions at the LHC. The latest results from LHCb regarding exotic hadron spectroscopy are presented. In particular the discovery of a narrow doubly charmed tetraquark decaying promptly to 0 0+, the evidence of a new strange pentaquark candidate in the /Λ mass spectrum, the observation of a doubly charged tetraquark and its neutral partner in the system, the observation of (3960) decaying to + − , the evidence of a new tetraquark in /, the search prompt pentaquarks in charm final states and the study of the (3872) nature using radiative decays
Recent results from the NA62 experiment at CERN
The NA62 experiment at CERN SPS is designed to study the decay. After collecting data in 2016, 2017, and 2018, the experiment has resumed data taking in 2021 and has received approval for operations until the onset of LS3. The first search for the lepton number violating decay and lepton flavour violating decays , is reported. More recent results from NA62 analyses of and decay are also reported. Additionally, the search for New Physics in the data collected during the beam-dump mode in 2021 will be discussed
Neutrino physics
This is an update of the lectures previously published in arXiv:1708.01046. The topics discussed in this lecture include: general properties of neutrinos in the SM, the theory of neutrino masses and mixings (Dirac and Majorana), neutrino oscillations both in vacuum and in matter, as well as an overview of the experimental evidence for neutrino masses and of the prospects in neutrino oscillation physics. We also briefly comment on the relevance of neutrinos in leptogenesis and in beyond-the- Standard-Model physics
Preliminary Physics Summary: measurement of B-meson production cross section in proton-proton collisions at TeV
This note reports the measurement of the transverse-momentum () differential production cross section of B mesons in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of TeV with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. For the first time, the B production cross section is measured at midrapidity () down to GeV/ at LHC energies. The B mesons and their charge conjugates were reconstructed via the BD decay channel, followed by the DK decay. The measured -differential cross section is found to be described within uncertainties by state-of-the-art models based on perturbative quantum-chromodynamic calculations. Its rapidity dependence is also tested by computing ratios between the ALICE measurement and the one of B mesons performed by the LHCb Collaboration at forward rapidity. The B production cross section per unit of rapidity at midrapidity is found to be b. Lastly, the prospects for the measurements of the B and B mesons via the B and B decay channels are discussed
CERN Tape Archive Workshop : CTA 2025
Antares is the tape archive service at RAL that manages both Tier-1 and local Facilities data. In this talk, we present the main operational changes and developments in the service since last year’s CTA workshop. Among others, these include the migration of the service from SL7, the CTA Frontend separation and the deployment of the new EOS nodes connected to the LHC-OPN network in our Tier-1 EOS cluster. In conjunction with the Facilities migration to TS1170 tape media, we present some work done on data reorganization with the aim to achieve higher recall efficiency. Finally, we discuss various ongoing operational problems and conclude with the development plans for the immediate future
EOS 2025 Workshop
Every operation that modifies/queries the metadata from the persistent metadata storage QuarkDB goes via QClient. We look at some current bottlenecks and improvements that v5.3 offers with various configurations
EOS 2025 Workshop
This presentation will report about the benchmarking results of various EOS setups at CERN using the new RNTuple framework
