Dancing between money and ideas: inclusion in primary education in the Czech Republic from 2005 to 2020

    Get PDF
The aim of this study is to analyse the implementation of inclusion policy in primary education in the Czech Republic using the arena of discursive construction by the main actors and also the impact on the acceptance of inclusion. For this purpose, we use a qualitative research strategy based on situational analysis methods - the so-called maps of discursive arenas. The study describes two arenas of inclusive education between 2005 and 2020. The turning point came in 2015, when inclusion legislation was accepted. The study results suggest that both arenas are linked by two main opposing discourses. The Special Education Discourse argues that it is more effective when children of a similar level of abilities are educated together; the Inclusive Education Discourse strives to reduce segregation and isolation of pupils with various kinds of disadvantages. Both discourses tend to polarise the inclusion debate. One of the main reasons for this polarisation is that the state is failing to create a functional platform for communication which could help overcome the conflict.Czech Science Foundation [GA19-13038S

The main role of this article is to create a mathematical model using virtual laboratories for primary, secondary and high schools, and universities. The aim of the article is such a mathematical model to be applicable at all levels of education, with a substantial idea to teach students to think more scientifically. Analysis showed us two possible methods of creating a given model. Possible implementation is with differential equations or vector functions. After a thorough consideration and analysis of the subject we chose a vector function that interfere with a larger spectrum of students compared to differential equations. The main contribution of the work is already mentioned and that is a virtual laboratory, which in our case describes the Solar system and its movement using vector functions. This laboratory is useful, from a primary school, where students are getting to know the Solar system to secondary and high schools, and colleges, where educators can use this model on physics and mathematics lessons when taking over teaching vectors.Trnava University in Trnava [12/TU/2021

    Get PDF
In the study, an investigation was made into the hydrolytic degradation behavior of the microporous polylactide (PLA) in the initial stage in three biological buffer solutions with various pH-simulating body fluids in comparison with pure PLA. Studies also include the analysis of selected mechanical properties and physical structures. A microporous PLA was obtained by melt extrusion using a chemical blowing agent. The rate of Mw decrease induced by hydrolysis over 35 days of microporous PLA was roughly comparable to the pure material. The rate of depolymerization was slightly accelerated at an acid pH due to acid-catalyzed hydrolysis at the end of the observed period. The mechanical analysis showed the influence of various pH on the obtained results.Ministerstwo Edukacji i Nauki, MNiSW: 030/RID/2018/19project Lublin University of Technology-Regional Excellence Initiative - Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education [030/RID/2018/19

Intelligent high-tech coating of natural biopolymer layers

    Get PDF
Polymeric materials play a vital role in our daily life, but the growing concern for the environment demands economical and natural biopolymers that can be cross-linked to create technologically innovative lightweight materials. Their cellular matrix with extreme flexibility makes them highly acceptable for application prospects in material science, engineering, and biomedical applications. Furthermore, their biocompatibility, mechanical properties, and structural diversity provide a gateway to research them to form technologically important materials. In the light of the same, the review covers cellulose derivatives. The first section of the study covers the general properties and applications of cellulose and its derivatives. Then, the biopolymers are characterised based on their dielectric properties, crystallinity, rheology, and mechanical properties. An in-depth analysis of the diffuse process of swelling and dissolution followed by a brief discussion on diffusion and diffusion of crosslinking has been done. The review also covers a section on swelling and swelling kinetics of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC). The examination of all the aforementioned parameters gives an insight into the future aspects of the biopolymers. Lastly, the study briefly covers some preferred choices of cross-linking agents and their effect on the biopolymers.Tomas Bata University in Zlin, TBU: IGA/FT/2022/005; Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci: IGA_PrF_2022_020Palacky University in Olomouc [IGA_PrF_2022_020]; Tomas Bata University in Zlin [IGA/FT/2022/005]; Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomou

Electrospun polyurethane nanofibers coated with polyaniline/polyvinyl alcohol as ultrafiltration membranes for the removal of ethinylestradiol hormone micropollutant from aqueous phase

    Get PDF
Estrogenic hormones at significant levels are a serious cause of fish femininity, breast and ovarian cancer as a consequence of hormonal imbalance. This study reports the fabrication of electrospun polyurethane (PU) nanofibers modified by coating with polyaniline/polyvinyl alcohol (PANI/PVA) to form filtration membranes for the enhanced removal of ethinylestradiol (EE2) estrogenic hormone. Structural and morphological character-ization was performed by FTIR, SEM and optical microscopy, while the detection and quantification of EE2 were analysed using HPLC. To understand the material characteristics, the feasibility of the results based on contact time and kinetics to determine the adsorption capacity coated PU nanofibers was further investigated. Findings demonstrated that EE2 best fitted pseudo-second-order kinetics. Furthermore, the adsorption process was opti-mised via response surface methodology using a central composite design model by varying parameters such as pH, temperature, the concentration of adsorbate, and adsorbent dosage to determine. It was found that the modified PU membranes had a maximum adsorption capacity of 2.11 mg/g and high removal percentage effi-ciency of ~82.20% for EE2. Adsorption mechanism and thermodynamics were also evaluated, and the results depicted the adsorption process of EE2 occurred via intraparticle diffusion and was exothermic in nature. Finally, a reusability study was done over six adsorption-desorption cycles to test the consistent effectiveness of the modified PU membrane, which remained above 80% removal capacity. Overall, the findings indicate that treated PU with stabilized PANI particles possess the potential to form an effective adsorbent for eradicating EE2 and other estrogenic hormones from the environment.IGA/CPS/2022/003; Ministerstvo Školství, Mládeže a Tělovýchovy, MŠMT: RP/CPS/2022/002, RP/CPS/2022/005Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Czech Republic [IGA/CPS/2022/003, DKRVO RP/CPS/2022/002]; Internal Grant Agency of TBU in Zlin [RP/CPS/2022/005

Effect of nano-sized poly(butyl acrylate) layer grafted from graphene oxide sheets on the compatibility and beta-phase development of poly(vinylidene fluoride) and their vibration sensing performance

    Get PDF
In this work, graphene oxide (GO) particles were modified with a nano-sized poly(butyl acrylate) (PBA) layer to improve the hydrophobicity of the GO and improve compatibility with PVDF. The improved hydrophobicity was elucidated using contact angle investigations, and exhibit nearly 0 degrees for neat GO and 102 degrees for GO-PBA. Then, the neat GO and GO-PBA particles were mixed with PVDF using a twin screw laboratory extruder. It was clearly shown that nano-sized PBA layer acts as plasticizer and shifts glass transition temperature from -38.7 degrees C for neat PVDF to 45.2 degrees C for PVDF/GO-PBA. Finally, the sensitivity to the vibrations of various frequencies was performed and the piezoelectric constant in the thickness mode, d(33), was calculated and its electrical load independency were confirmed. Received values of the d(33) were for neat PVDF 14.7 pC/N, for PVDF/GO 20.6 pC/N and for PVDF/GO-PBA 26.2 pC/N showing significant improvement of the vibration sensing and thus providing very promising systems for structural health monitoring and data harvesting.Czech Science Foundation [19-17457S]; Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic-DKRVO [RP/CPS/2022/003]RP/CPS/2022/003; Ministerstvo Školství, Mládeže a Tělovýchovy, MŠMT; Grantová Agentura České Republiky, GA ČR: 19-17457

The importance of automation of production process control and control centers

    No full text
When building new or upgrading existing control centers, ergonomists and designers strive to design solutions that improve operators' working conditions, including work comfort, and reduce their psychological burden stemming from the complexity of their activities and the high responsibilities they bear. However, meeting the needs of operators, while adapting to space constraints or specific technical requirements for the control system, is very difficult. Coping with this difficult task, therefore, requires a responsible approach consisting of the implementation of many ergonomic principles, already in the design phase of the workplace. To this end, an approach known as Human-Centered Design has been successfully used in practice. It aims to design and create working conditions so that operators do not experience physical discomfort, feelings of alienation, or personal dissatisfaction at work. The quality of the work environment and the organization of work itself must necessarily take into account human needs and constraints and at the same time reflect several related psychological aspects. With the advent of Industry 4.0, the nature of the work of operators will change. Sooner or later, robotization will prevail here as well, which will affect socio-cognitive interactions within the work system. The mental performance requirements of operators will also increase significantly. But hand in hand with this, operators will also demand better working conditions. Employers should take these issues seriously today and start preparing for these expected changes. What problems can be expected in connection with the probable development, and what opportunities open up, which are discussed in this article. © 2021 International Multidisciplinary Scientific Geoconference. In Vietnam, the covid situation started in the beginning of 2020 but not until May 2021, it severely impacts the country economically and socially. Some of the top instant coffee producers in Vietnam are struggling to calibrate their business decision-making to survive but others are taking advantage of the situation and fetch for opportunistic expansion. The theoretical framework initiates a global examination in the coffee industry to seek understandings through different business approaches from international organizations against the pandemic and determines dominant components succor firms to overcome adversities. Specifically, this study focuses on understanding the business strategies of Vietnam instant coffee manufacturers using business case study and unstructured interview. The result unveils that for the company survival plan categorizes into three directions: expanding, hibernating, and idling tactic. The paper suggests that during the pandemic event, the business decision-making highly relates to the degree of automation and liquidation. Furthermore, the study suggests that the decision of whether to embrace vertical or horizontal acquisition tactic during this period is a dependent variable with the magnitude of synchronization among the firm sub-business ecosystem. The study, hence, suggested instant coffee manufacturer to establish a set of backup plan in case of unexpected pandemic occasions by improving their automation degree and upgrading its liquidation channels
