The Aluminum has special properties such as light weight, ductile and a lower melting point. It has very suitable for applied as composite material, with ceramic as reinforcement. Accumulative roll bonding (ARB) is part of technology of Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) that has been developed of manufacturing process for metals, alloys and composites as well. It has a potential becoming an industrial process to produce composite and ultrafine-grained (UFG) metal sheets. In this research, the development of aluminum-based composites is made by SPD technology using the ARB method on aluminum plate sheets with boron carbide (B4C) as reinforcement, is expected to improve its mechanical properties along with the rules of microstructure analysis. To get of the UFG metallic materials where the mean grain size must be smaller than 1μm are expected can be exhibit excellent mechanical properties. The ARB process consists of multiple cycles of rolling, cutting, stacking and solid-state deformation bonding. Two plates were prepare for the ARB sample process, cleaning uses acetone liquid to prevent attachment of dust and dirt on the surface to be made in contact with other samples. Acetone and grinding to produce a rough surface to facilitate the surface binding process between samples, B4C powder is sprinkled between the centers of aluminum plate surface and stacked going together

Wastewater treatment gave major problem in higher of chemical oxygen demand that backgrounded by amount and type of PT RT/RW products. The waste was polymer, mixture of nitrogen, mixture of phosphate, and oil. This factory used active sludge and microorganism (anaerobic condition). Research result showed that pH ranged 4,94 until 8,02. This data gave a decreasing sharply in acidic condition. The thing could be caused acetogenic phase in area pond anaerobic. The phenomenon might be recited because possibility of biologist living this waste did not take place as well and or could give deathly affect to the anaerobic bacteria. Customary pH for the bacteria was 6,8 – 7,4. Temperature data reached 28-33oC so their activities were good. Then, efficiency of anaerobic wastewater treatment was 62,95 to 66,06%. The data indicated that the research was not accordance with SOP companies. Inlet concentration of chemical oxygen demand had variation and gave unbalancing affect to digestive bacteria load. Estimation to get valid COD was 11-14 days. The duration was required by the microorganism to digest the matter organic perfectly to be methane and carbon dioxide gas

Sustainable Material : Used Wood As Building Material

Abstract–Wood consumption as building material and component in Indonesia is still considerably high. This affects forest destruction, in a way that most of the wood production still roots from wood forests. Hence, the demand of these woods better be supplied from other source, one of them is through using used woods. Used wood utilization in building construction is an application of reuse and recycle strategy in sustainable material concept. Due to the assumption among the people that used woods have low performance its utilization is nowadays limited. This paper addresses the result of research and laboratory test on a range of used wood samples collected from Jakarta great area (Jabodetabek), consist of 5 technical parameters: water content, density, compressive strength, flexure strength, and tension strength. The research proves that based on certain parameters, used woods perfom technical capacity as good as – or even better than – newly produced woods.Keyword –  sustainable, material, used woo

Abstract—Waste and other second-hand goods management in Indonesia are still not properly managed, while used products still have their economic value. E-waste is one of many second-hand goods that are not handled properly. E-waste is defined as the rubbish of electronic products. Mobile phone is one of the electronic products that are almost used by most of Indonesian people, ranging from people having low income to those having a huge income. The influence of lifestyle makes mobile phone lifespan is very short. High level of consumption and short life time make mobile phones are not used accordingly and quickly become waste. When this waste is not managed properly then it will accumulate and damage our nature, because almost all mobile phone components are non-organic materials. Used mobile phones still have economic value and some of their components can be recycled or reused. Therefore this study focuses on promoting reverse handling management of used mobile phones from the Indonesian consumers. The main strategy is aligned with Reverse Logistics concept where value recovery and proper disposal become the main consideration. In this design, a strategy will be discussed throughout the stakeholders who will be involved in the return process so the process can run effectively and efficiently. Consideration of recycling or reusing used product can reduce the retrieval of raw materials from the nature. The problem solution will certainly have an impact on our natural resources balance. When this strategy works successfully then it will certainly contribute in preserving of nature. Keywords— economic value, e-waste, recycle and reuse, reverse logistic, used product

Abstract—Higher competition in businesslike field demanded each company acted as a value creator with progressive fixing performance. One of effort in increasing productivity was reducing waste. Enterprise T have seven type of extravagance were over production, transportation, inventory, over processing, motion waiting and defect. Minimize waste have bond with production time which could increase efficiency on using electricity and decreased lead time. Production process in this company showed non-value added time such as excessively material transportation in picking area and so the workers too much waited for the next schedule activity. This condition caused higher product lead time. Lean manufacturing idea necessary was implemented with using tool Value Stream Mapping – VSM. This strategy would resumed for the company maintenance and the result showed that lacking as much 26,45% of lead time could be a problem solution. Reducing lead time could be higher if the company have applied and played continue improvement. Keywords—lead time, lean manufacturing, value stream mapping

Abstract— The primary objective of this research were to produce and evaluate the official Indonesian language version of the Rheumatoid Arthritis Quality of Life instrument (RAQoL). The UK RAQoL was translated into Indonesian by a forward-backward translation. A separate lay panel was conducted to consider the appropriateness and comprehensibility of the items in Indonesian. The translated version of the RAQoL was pilot tested to determine whether the questionnaire RAQoL could be well understood and well accepted. Pilot test was conducted by interviews with 20 subjects, which 10 healthy Indonesia people and 10 rheumatoid arthritis patients who were recruited from X hospital in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.  Items on the two response format questionnaire used in pilot study were scored one for a ‘yes’ response and zero for a ‘no’ response. The individual total item scores with a high score indicating poor QoL. Few difficulties arose in the translation process and the new language version was well received by the lay panel and field-test participants. Statistical analysis was conducted to determine the difference of completion time between healthy subjects and RA patients, and the total score of the questionnaire answers between healthy subjects and patients. The average total score of responses to questionnaire on the healthy subject and patients by T test was significantly different (p < 0.05).
