    Get PDF
Clay soil is aproblematic soil that high swelling-shrinking properties, expands when given water, and shrinks when dry. One method to improve the clay soil that can be used is soil stabilization using additives or added materials. In this research, the additional materials used are ceramic waste powder (CWP) and glass waste powder (GWP) which will be mixed into clay soil at the location of Koto Baru Nan XX, Padang. The quantities used for each added ingredient are 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. The method used is an observation method which aims to analyze the physical and mechanical parameters of the soil before and after adding additional materials. The results of the test show that the plasticity index value using CWP and GWP additives decreased by 85% and 59%, respectively. The increase in UCS value when adding CWP and GWP is almost the same when adding 20%. The OMC value decreased by an average of 40% each with the addition of CWP and GWP. Meanwhile, the increase in MDD value in GWP is greater than the addition of CWP

Banyuwangi is a regency with a coastline length of about 175.8 km with 10 islands. The east coast of Banyuwangi (Bali Strait) is one of the largest fish producers in East Java. Banyuwangi is the second largest producer of fishery commodities in Indonesia. One of the villages in Banyuwangi Regency, Mojopanggung Village, has the potential for a thriving squid cracker business. The management of crackers in this village has not changed significantly from year to year, 90% of the management of the ponds is done traditionally, starting from the process of making raw materials for crackers, drying crackers to the marketing process. The most common problem faced by cracker business owners is the loss caused by the rainy season. Almost 50% to 75% of the crackers are not produced in a period of 1 to 4 months due to limited sunlight as a medium for drying crackers. This is evident from the decreasing amount of production. The most influential factor is the heating medium that changes based on natural conditions. Meanwhile, the demand for all types of crackers continues to grow. In its management, one of the dynamic elements that need to be considered is the temperature of the cracker dryer. Some of the physical variables that affect the quality of the drying process are temperature, humidity, and automatic scheduling, and to support the success of the cracker drying process, these parameters really need to be known by SME cracker business owners in Banyuwangi Regency. So the need for a cheap and energy-efficient technology for the drying process of crackers, which can produce good quality crackers, so that cracker-producing SMEs can significantly increase their production without any restrictions on natural conditions

    Get PDF
Environmental and social risks are risks that can disrupt the sustainability of infrastructure provision through the PPP scheme. PPP is a cooperation scheme involving many stakeholders and each stakeholder can be part of mitigating risks, including environmental risks. Environmental risk mitigation can be carried out through instruments and frameworks owned by each stakeholder. This research aims to map the ESG framework that exists in PPP schemes in Indonesia based on existing instruments for stakeholders to be able to make ESG an effective instrument for mitigating environmental and social risks. The research method used in this research is qualitative because the analysis used in this research is a descriptive and in-depth observation of the PPP ecosystem in Indonesia. The results of this research show that there are eight stakeholders in PPP in Indonesia. Each stakeholder has an instrument and can apply the ESG framework based on the instrument they have. Implementing the ESG framework can mitigate environmental and social risks in business processes carried out by stakeholders in the PPP ecosystem in Indonesia

Bibliometrics Analysis and Future Study Trends in Anaerobic Biofilter Systems for Laundry Wastewater Treatment

    Get PDF
The rapid expansion of the laundry industry, particularly in residential areas, has led to significant environmental challenges due to the discharge of untreated wastewater containing high levels of pollutants, such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and phosphate (PO₄). This study aims to explore the effectiveness of anaerobic biofilter systems in reducing COD and PO₄ levels in laundry wastewater. A lab-scale anaerobic biofilter reactor was designed and operated at varying hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 9, 11, and 13 hours to treat the wastewater. The results showed that the anaerobic biofilter system effectively reduced PO₄ levels, meeting Indonesian regulatory standards, with the highest removal efficiency observed at an HRT of 11 hours. However, while COD levels were reduced, they remained above the required quality standards, indicating the need for optimization of the treatment process. The study highlights the potential of anaerobic biofilters in laundry wastewater treatment and suggests further research into integrated treatment approaches for improved pollutant removal

    Get PDF
Indonesia's geographical conditions and position are very favorable and various policies from the government from 2005 until now are expected to become the shipyard industry to become a tough industry, but in reality it is still not as expected. The condition of the domestic shipyard industry in 2017 until now there is only ship repair and maintenance work, while orders for new ships or buildings are very few and even zero demand ship orders, causing business continuity in the shipyard industry to be disrupted and even out of business. This paper aims to develop a concept for the development of a multi-oriented shipyard industry that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. The preparation of this concept begins with identifying problems, collecting secondary data, reviewing related articles (shipyard industry, ship recycling yard industry, environment, sustainability, and supporting methods), analyzing and developing a development concept. The results obtained from drafting the concept are in the form of a diagrammatic model for the development of a multi-oriented shipyard industry that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. The development concept consists of (1) research background in the form of the existing conditions of the shipyard industry, ship recycling industry, geography, infrastructure, superstructure; (2) research that has been conducted in the form of relevant journal articles and proceedings; (3) research to be conducted in the form of sustainability criteria, orientation diversification and strategy selection; (4) implementation

    - The fishermen in Sendang Biru, Malang, East Java Province, Indonesia, using boat ≤5 GT, specifically an outrigger boat with 10,6 m Length of Overall (LoA), 1,3 m Breadth (B), and 0,7 m Depth (D), have experienced low priced fish catches for many years caused by low quality of fish handling on board. In this research, the researcher overcomes the problem by designing the solar powered cooling engine (SPCE) to maintain the caught fish quality on boat ≤5 GT, especially the boat with outrigger and size as previously mentioned. Meanwhile, the outrigger boat as mentioned above has limited in term of its space and its capacity on board. The research designed the SPCE that fitted to space and capacity of the outrigger boat. The stability of the boat had been analyzed by using IMO resolution on “IMO A.749 (18) Chapter 3”. The result of the analyses showed that the SPCE designed met the IMO criteria applicable to all ships, which has GZ Max 0,492 m at 25.5°, and as the general arrangement of the SPCE on the boat, the SPCE device put in the middle of the boat while in the back part of the boat is fisher working area.

Small Area Estimation Anak Tidak Sekolah di Pulau Kalimantan Tahun 2023

    Get PDF
Equitable and quality education is one of the priority goals, both nationally and internationally, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The quality of education in a region can be seen through the indicator of the percentage of out-of-school children aged 7-17 years. Kalimantan Island is one of the regions that has a high number of out-of-school children, higher than the national rate. To overcome this problem, appropriate policies are needed to improve the quality of education. Therefore, the provision of precise, accurate, and precise data is needed. This is especially true in the provision of “small area” data, at least at the district/city level. Although estimation at the kabupaten/kota level has been conducted by BPS, there is still a problem of low precision. One solution that can be applied in estimating is by using Small Area Estimation (SAE). This study aims to estimate the percentage of children aged 7-17 years who are not in school by district/city in Kalimantan Island in 2023. The author compares the estimation using Empirical Best Linear Unbiased Predictor (EBLUP) and Hierarchical Bayes Beta (HB Beta). The results show that the HB Beta estimation is better than the EBLUP estimation. Estimation using EBLUP resulted in two districts/cities with RSEs of more than 25 percent, namely Samarinda and Kutai Kartanegara. Meanwhile, estimation using HB Beta produces better precision with an overall RSE value below 25 percen
