The Dark and Dry Well: Hidden Psychotic Disorders in Murakami Haruki’s Novel
The personal secrets of humans are just as though a deep and dark well. The peculiarities that occur within human beings not only attract numerous psychiatrists to unravel them but also captivate a Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami. In his novel entitled The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, he conveys subjective experiences through his main character. The novel tells the story of Toru Okada’s subconscious journey. It is where human memories connect with various ancient subconscious thoughts, strange illusions appear, and unheard voices manifest to ordinary humans. These are common indications of schizophrenia symptoms. The research reveals the challenge in identifying this syndrome, as affected individuals become detached from the “true reality.” Consequently, a more structured approach is deemed necessary to facilitate their reintegration. With the assistance of mythology, wherein this narrative serves as a collectively recognized storyline, those trapped within their fantastical worlds can effectively communicate and establish connections with those residing in the “true reality
Ritualization of Online Worship During COVID-19 Pandemic: A Case Study in GKMI ARK
The COVID-19 outbreak that first happened in the city of Wuhan, China on January 2020 did not take long until it reached other parts of the world and then declared by World Health Organization as a pandemic within two month. In Indonesia, Mr. President Joko Widodo urged every citizen to do academic, economical, and religious activities at home in order to slow the spread of the virus. Christian congregations are among religious groups that had been affected by government’s measures to reduce the Coronavirus transmission. While online learning and remote working have been known and practiced by some, online worship was imaginable by none. Located within the “red area” where Coronavirus transmission is high, Gereja Kristen Muria Indonesia Anugerah Rayon Kembangan (GKMI ARK) was among the first churches in Indonesia to switch from on-site to fully online worship. The pastor and elders gave new set of rituals for online worship, to which the congregation must adapt, regardless of their preparedness. Ritual can be broadly defined as a set of meaningful sequence of actions produced by ritualization. This paper aims to explore the ritualization of online worship of GKMI ARK congregation during the COVID-19 pandemic
English Education in Japan and Its Transformation in the Era of COVID-19
English has a unique perception in Japan. While it is considered as one of the important tools to gain knowledge and success, Japanese society also has its own sentiment and seen it as a language of the elites. This perception heavily influenced the curriculum, teaching methods, and students’ motivation in mastering the language. English proficiency in Japan itself, however, is still considered very low. Many argued that the curriculum and the outdated teaching style are the ones to blame. Japanese government have been trying several initiatives to improve its English education quality. In the past few years, non- formal English educations institution and native English teachers has also been increasing in demand, mainly thanks to Tokyo Olympic 2020. The spread of COVID-19, however, brought a lot of new challenges and left the future of English education in jeopardy. This paper is intended to give an overview of how English is perceived by Japanese society, how it is learnt in each educational level, and later how COVID-19 affected the system

Tarling Music Virtual Concert Remediation Strategies in the COVID-19 Pandemic Era
The Covid-19 pandemic is driving changes in how music concerts are produced, and tarling music is no exception. The government's policy, which included the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKPM), forced the event organizer, which used to hold entertainment stage concerts, including tarling music, to cease operations. Economically, the tarling musicians lose money because they are out of work for too long. Tarling musicians in Cirebon, West Java, are trying to break through in a variety of ways, including holding virtual music concerts. The purpose of this research is to uncover the practice of tarling music production in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as how tarling music agents adapt to their new habits regarding production methods through remediation strategies practiced through virtual and hybrid environments. This is a qualitative study that employs the paradigm of cultural materialism, as defined by Marvin Harris (1980a, p. 277), who believes that the material conditions of society determine human consciousness rather than the other way around. This research uses documentation study, observation, interviews, recording, and literature study as data collection methods. As a result, the Tarling music artist agency aggressively reforms the form of stage performance that is perceived as reality and presents it in the form of virtual and hybrid reality
Making Education Support Media About Flood Hazard in Samarinda in the Form of Digital Comic
Samarinda is the capital of East Kalimantan that is currently growing rapidly. However, the city of Samarinda still has a complex flood problem. This flood phenomenon occurs not only when it is the rainy season but also when it rains for 1-2 hours. This condition interferes with the activities of the community and the government in Samarinda in carrying out daily activities because it can immerse settlements and housing, damage public facilities, and cause casualties. Despite the frequent occurrence and inconvenience of the community, Samarinda's level of public awareness in preventing floods is still minimal. This can be seen from the large number of communities that still often throw garbage carelessly into rivers, especially residents living near rivers. The garbage thrown into the river hinders the flow of water to the point where it can create a high puddle. It is seen that there are many communities, especially young people who are open-minded about environmental issues. Therefore, it is necessary to design a flood prevention educational medium in Samarinda city that can start from oneself or a simple thing with the main target is Samarinda people itself, especially the youth with qualitative methods
