Faroes will deliver a lightweight Web 2.0 style repository that allows 
teachers to easily share their resources. The goal is to begin to 
explore the difficult issues of authorship, provenance, authority and 
copyright in the context of a real system with real users.

Faroes* is the follow on project to Claret; both 
projects are based on the Clare repository (a 
version of ePrints) and both have worked with 
the language teaching community in the UK.   
 
Faroes will:  
 
• create a lightweight, simple repository 
that replicates the best-practice openness 
and user experience seen in commercial 
Web 2.0 sites such as Flickr or YouTube. 
• engage with the language teaching 
community to support them in creating 
and sharing their digital resources.   
• develop technologies to create a single 
searchable space over several 
repositories 
• explore how tags might evolve into 
folksonomies to aid in navigation 
• investigate how structured feedback 
might support learning resources over a 
lifetime of shared usage

ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Cómo se llama usted? 
PESCADERO: Rufino Camal pa<r><a> servirle. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Y dónde estamos en este momento? 
PESCADERO: Ahorita estamos aquí en Mérida…, en el Mercado Lucas de   
Galvez. 
ENTREVISTADOR: Y usted tiene una parada - ¿no? - de pescado. 
PESCADERO: Exactamente, tenemos… 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Nos puede, eh… decir un poco los diferentes tipos de 
pescado que tiene? 
PESCADERO: Acá tenemos un mero, éste es un mero rojo… Éste es un 
abadejo… Acá tenemos una corvina, se le lla <incompleta> 
… , la trucha. 
 
PESCADERO: ¿Cuánto de pulpo quiere usted?  
CLIENTE:  Ocho kilos. 
PESCADERO: Ocho kilos. Vamos a ver cuánto hay… Pulpo. 
 
PESCADERA:  Gracias. 
CLIENTE:  Inaudible 
PESCADERO: ¡Ahora le vaya bien!... Éstas son las jaibas. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Están vivas? 
PESCADERO: Hay que están vivas…hay que están vivas… pero ya, 
buscar una viva, ya. A ver una vivita… Ni una está viva 
ENTREVISTADOR: Ésa está viva 
PESCADERO: Ahi está, mire. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Y ésta cómo se…cómo se prepara? 
PESCADERO: Esto <sic> se preparan muchas veces en… sopa de 
marisco. Se le agrega lo que es caracol, camarón, las 
chivitas, el pulpo, carne de pescado y éste [ingrediente] es 
el principal que hay que ponerle para que tenga ese sabor. 
PESCADERO: Éste es un robalo 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿robalo? 
PESCADERO: Es un robalo… Éste es el gua <incompleta>… huachinango 
…, es un huachinanguito… Éste <sic> son los 
canzoncitos… Acá tenemos un filete surtido, que es de… 
distinta clase de pescado para hacer el ceviche… Muy 
bonito. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Cómo se prepara el ceviche? 
PESCADERO: El ceviche se prepara a base de limón… mucho limón agrío. 
Y su tomate, cebolla, aceite, eh…, su salsa inglesa. Mucho 
chilito, cilantro y cebo… <incompleta> 
Se cocina en…eh…su…, en el jugo del limón, ¿no? 
PESCADERO: Exactamente, en el jugo del limón se cocina. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Cuál es el pescado más caro? 
PESCADERO: El pescado más caro es el huachinango y el robalo. <E>so 
es lo más caro que hay. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Cómo se prepara el huachinango normalmente? 
PESCADERO: El huachinango se hace, por ejemplo los filetes, a la 
mantequilla. Se hacen rellenados con la carne de jaiba, con 
camarones… El huachinango se hace asados<sic> aquí 
como le llamamos nosotros, aquí en nuestro medio, aquí en 
Yucatán, en Tiquinji. Como preparé esos dos que llevaron 
los señores. Pues eso se prepara con un <ininteligible> 
colorado, seco, se pone a la brasa. 
 
ENTREVISTADOR: Y entonces hemos dicho que el pescado más popular ¿cuál 
es? 
 PESCADERO: El más popular de aquí nuestro medio, aquí en Yucatán es 
el mero. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Y el más caro? 
PESCADERO: El más caro es el huachinango 
 
PESCADERA: Doscientos siete 
PESCADERO: Señor, su compra. 
 
ENTREVISTADOR: Y entonces…eh… ¿entonces el pescado se exporta a 
Estados Unidos? 
PESCADERO: El pescado se exporta bastante y también pues [a] nosotros 
nos interesa también la exportación. No no, no vamos a 
decir ¡ojalá que no compren! No, qué bueno si nos 
compraran más porque nosotros no consumimos la cantidad 
de lo<sic> que estamos produciendo. Hay muchos <sic> 
producción de pescados <sic>  en… en la costa. Entonces… 
nos gustaría más que compren en la exportación. Además 
<inaudible> como esa clase de camarón que yo le enseñé… 
Éste… éste es muy rara la vez [que] se ve acá en Yucatán, 
en el Mercado porque éste es de exportación. Este camarón 
lo damos a ciento ochenta pesos. ¿En cómo lo cotizan en 
dólar? <sic> Es un dineral. 
 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Y entonces cómo es que ahora hay camarón de este tipo 
aquí? 
PESCADERO: Porque…eh… Estados Unidos dejó de comprar, hace quince 
días no está comprando. 
ENTREVISTADOR: ¿Sabe por qué? 
PESCADERO: La verdad no sabemos el <sic> qué consiste. Simplemente 
que dejaron de comprar. Me imagino que ya están llenas sus 
bodegas, ya… Entonces un receso de un mes, dos meses... 
vuelven a comprar y ahí ya sube el precio… Y ya esto ya 
nosotros ya no lo vemos porque ya nuestro dinero, nuestro 
salario, no alcanza para ello, ¿no? E… es menos.
