Mama at the Table
"ma ma at The Table began in 2019 with a collaboration between The Table (Brittany Shepherd) and ma ma (Heather Canlas Rigg and Magdalyn Asimakis) – a dinner on a hot July day with fifteen guests, sharing the food they grew up eating, reading out loud together, and discussing how familial relationships to food function as sources of knowledge. The invitation asked guests to reflect on something they have learned through food: What was the dish? How did you learn about or experience it? What was lost, or gained in translation? How has it affected you? This publication collects the 15 stories of difference, love, spirituality, mystery, and myth shared that night, and develops them into expansive cookbook with personal recipes, photographs, and reflections on the emotive impact of food and family." -- Publisher's website
Just Happy to See You
"Just Happy To See You is a mix of bizarre comedy and a captivating autobiographical sequential art in which a breadcrumb trail of punchlines connects the dots between singing bougainvillea, poorly thought-out pandemic guidelines, and murderous clones.
Psychedelic visual-narratives coupled with side-splitting punchlines will eventually leave you wondering: why did Shea Proulx’s youngest spent so much time huffing laughing gas in 2021? The answer is simple: it was just that kind of year." -- Publisher's websit
Autour du paddock : hippodrome de Trois-Rivières
"'Autour du Paddock' is a true, poetic, and human immersion into a little-known world—that of harness racing. This book is a visual tribute to those who work far from the spotlight, in a universe where passion meets reality.
This artistic reportage unveils the daily lives of these devoted individuals—breeders, grooms, drivers—through all weather conditions, whether under bright skies or during grey, rainy days. Each image tells a story: one of labour, effort, deep connection with the horses, and a milieu where women are taking on an increasingly significant role.
There are no spectacular finish-line shots here, but rather sincere and sometimes unexpected moments, captured with artistic sensitivity. "Autour du Paddock" reveals the truth of this world: weathered faces, precise gestures, and that unique bond between human and animal, seized in soft or striking light." -- Distributor's websit
