Economic peripheries are areas characterised by lower levels of development and dependence on economic centres. To reduce socio-economic disparities, integrated and long-term policies are necessary to foster autonomous growth while also strengthening social capital. In this process, the enhancement of cultural heritage – understood as the set of assets, knowledge, and representations that underpin a community’s identity – can play a decisive role. Numerous studies have highlighted the ability of governance networks, which involve public and private actors and aim to create public value, to promote the effective management and enhancement of cultural heritage. However, their institutional and functional dynamics in economic peripheries remain relatively underexplored. This study aims to examine the conditions under which collaborative networks can foster the economic, competitive, and social development of peripheral regions by enhancing their cultural heritage. In particular, it examines the significant case of the event «Primavera nel cuore della Sardegna».Le periferie economiche sono aree caratterizzate da minore sviluppo e dipendenza dai centri economici.

Pages, Screens, Technology: Helen McClory’s Pretty Dead Girl Takes a Break’s Haunting Narrative
This paper aims to shed light on some characteristics of contemporary Anglophone Gothic literature as they are involved in cultural, social, and technological issues. Drawing on Lars Elleström’s theoretical framework, this contribution examines Helen McClory’s short story Pretty Dead Girl Takes a Break (2015), highlighting how the represented intermedial relationship between literature and screen technology can generate feelings of threat and fright that are deeply connected to a relevant contemporary issue, namely femicide
«È a Torino che bisogna stare, adesso». Fenomeni di adattamento nel mondo globale
We are well aware that each transposition is an independent work, that the principle of fidelity to the source of origin has been passed for a while. But taking a free hand does not always mean to follow a truly free inspiration. In the Netflix series The Leopard, based on the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s, freedom turns out to be deceptive: on the surface unbridled, in fact bound by hegemonic trends of thought and taste. It is worth examining this issue in depth, as we try to do through the following papers: Clotilde Bertoni analyzes the series’ adherence to the most widespread vision of the novel, and its adaptation to the standards of political correctness; Giulia Carluccio, starting from the episode set in Turin, considers its relationship with the novel, with Luchino Visconti’s film based on it, and with the broader imagery superimposed on them; Stefania Rimini connects it to the recurring features of the current period dramas, then focusing on its representation of environments and landscapes. We are well aware that each transposition is an independent work, that the principle of fidelity to the source of origin has been passed for a while.
This study analyses the representation of dystopian and post-apocalyptic urban space in Citéville and Citéruine, a graphic novel diptych by Jérôme Dubois that was published simultaneously in 2020 by two different French publishing houses. Although the author denies any temporal sequence between the two works, it is inevitable to read the post-apocalyptic city, emptied and devoid of human presence, as the desolate and posthumous reflection of the dystopian city. The alienation of its inhabitants in the latter foreshadows its end. Adopting an ecocritical and narratological approach, this article aims to demonstrate the potential of visual storytelling to raise awareness of the climate crisis. It focuses in particular on three issues: alienating temporality; the narrative function of space; the compositional mode of doubling and subtraction. These characterise the representation of the city of tomorrow, which is drawing ever closer, and of the day after tomorrow, which functions as a spectre and as “shock therapy” on our present.
