Exploring functional literacy in Junior High School
Literacy competence becomes a fundamental need for students to support their learning process at school. Likewise, the contribution of functional literacy is very important in living a social life and communicating in the current 4.0 era effectively. This article aimed to describe the form of functional literacy and the obstacles in the implementation of functional literacy program in junior high schools in Yogyakarta. This article used library research and direct observation of the implementation of functional literacy in schools as the research method. The results of the study showed that, first, functional literacy program implemented in schools was still merely accustomed to reading and writing. Schools, in general, have made literacy programs such as reading posts, library visits, work exhibitions, meaningful writing, writing as a response, writing exhibitions, and creative and academic writing. However, the implementation of functional literacy towards the development, learning, and functional needs of students has not been planned and implemented optimally. Second, the constraints on the implementation of functional literacy came from the students and the schools. In addition to the students' lack of motivation, feeling unfocused, tired, and bored also hindered the effectivity of literacy program implementation. The constraints stemming from schools included the lack of budget for literacy programs, the lack of time allocation and new reference sources, and no collaboration between school members in the implementation of literacy programs. The literacy programs were implemented using top-down approach, and have not yet referred to the basic functional needs of students
Keterampilan membaca puisi siswa sebuah modifikasi teknik membaca puisi Jose Rizal Manua
This study aims to describe students' reading skills using a modification of Jose Rizal Manua's declamator technique in his book Reading Poetry. This research was conducted on students of Al Azhar 22 Middle Islamic Primary School. The method used is a qualitative method using modeling. The data source from this study came from five students who came from different classes but had an interest in poetry reading activities. The data in this study consisted of videos, sound recordings, and student notes collected by the teacher. In this study, poetry reading techniques at three stages of work, namely the work of the brain, work of the heart, and work of the body. Can be concluded about the use of modifications to this technique can improve students' poetry reading skills. The average value of the calculated value = 82 is greater than the value of the minimum graduation criteria = 75. Can be perfected by using a modification of Jose Rizal Manua's poetry reading technique can improve student skills in reading poetry
Pandangan dunia dalam webtoon sekotengs: kajian strukturalisme genetik lucien goldmann
This study aims to describe the human fact, collective subject, and world view contained in the Sekotengs webtoon. This webtoon is popular with 4.6 million readers. This type of research is qualitative, centered on description. The subject of this research is Lifina's  Sekotengs webtoon, while the object of this research is the author's humanity fact and worldview. The theory used is Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism. The results of this study indicate that in the Sekotengs Webtoon there are two types of humanity facts, namely the fact of humanity, cultural creations and the fact of humanity social activities. There are 36 data on humanity in terms of cultural creation, while 27 in humanity data on social activities. Collective subjects in the Webtoon Sekotengs are dominated by high social class, which is as much as 10 data. The main character and the side character are described as rich people. The depiction of the poor can be found through only a few patient figures. Besides this webtoon has a worldview of materialism. Lifina through Webtoon Sekotengs considers that someone who is considered handsome or beautiful and has a high social class will be more admired by others and become an idol
Fungsi bahasa dan makna pragmatik dalam media sosial untuk memerangi Covid-19: Kajian etnopragmatik
This article discusses the function of language and pragmatic meaning in social media to combat Covid-19. Theoretical references used are ethnopragmatics. Ethnographic studies basically examine language from a cultural aspect. Cultural aspects include knowledge, behavior, and artifacts. Meanwhile, pragmatics is a study of language use on the basis of context. This research uses data sources from Instagram, Facebook, WA, and email. Research data in the form of language use in social media above. Data from Instagram and Facebook are downloaded from the internet, while data from email is collected through the direction of researchers with guidance on the instrument. Data collection techniques are done through reading and taking notes. Concrete data analysis techniques are carried out through data identification, data classification, data interpretation, and reporting in the form of journal articles. The findings of research on language subfunctions include asking, inviting or influencing, being sarcastic, motivating and criticizing, and saying thank you. Meanwhile, the pragmatic meaning used in social media includes indirectly advising, persuading, indirectly reminding, subtly insinuating, inviting, complaining, and give advice
Landasan ontologi, epistemologi dan aksiologis dalam kajian pendidikan karakter
This study aims to reveal the foundation of ontology, epistemology and axiology in an article entitled "Analysis of the Character Education Content of the Social Studies Textbooks of Junior High Schools in Surakarta City" written by Permatasari. This research is an inferential content analysis research. namely the foundation of ontology, epistemology and axiology, or in other words what, how and where is the science. The technique used in this research is the content analysis technique. The validity and reliability in this study were intraritarian semantics (test retest reliability). The results showed that: 1) the foundation of the ontology used consisted of material objects, namely the content of character education in social studies textbooks in the city of Surabaya; 2) the epistemological foundation consists of steps 3) the axiological foundation in the form of the benefits of character education values developed in the social studies textbooks in the city of Surabaya which have ethical (religious) and moral values
Potret kenakalan remaja dalam novel dilan dia adalah dilanku karya pidi baiq
This study aims to describe juvenile delinquency in terms of the form, causes, and effects of delinquency carried out by adolescents contained in the novel Dilan Dia adalah Dilanku by Pidi Baiq. This type of research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods with data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that indicate the problems of adolescent life in the novel. The results of this study prove that the novel shows juvenile delinquency and is depicted not much different from the reality of adolescent life today. Based on data analysis, juvenile delinquency contained in the novel is reviewed from (1) the form of juvenile delinquency in the form of delinquency that causes physical casualties, delinquency that results in material casualties, social delinquency that does not cause victims, delinquency which is against status; (2) the causes of juvenile delinquency in the form of negative nature that leads to damage, lack of self-control and social perception, inability to adapt to environmental changes, lack of creative hobbies or healthy hobbies, less effective supervision in coaching, lack of understanding of adolescents from the environment of adolescents, and family ignorance in dealing with adolescent problems; (3) the impact of juvenile delinquency in the form of adolescents themselves, for families, and for society
Analisis kesalahan penggunaan tanda baca dan huruf miring dalam teks berita online detiknews dan tribunnews
This study aims to (1) describe the form of language errors in terms of the use of punctuation and italics contained in the online news text detik news and news stands, (2) Explain the form of language errors in terms of the use of punctuation and dominant italics appear in online news text seconds news and news stands. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data in this research are sentences containing language errors in punctuation in online news text detik news and news stands. Data collection techniques used are reading and note-taking techniques. reading techniques, namely by reading repeatedly the contents contained in the online news column. Next, note-taking techniques are used to write down problems in reading. The note taking technique used is to write down words or sentences which are forms of spelling mistakes in the language. After being analyzed and described based on the form of errors in the spelling fields which include punctuation and italics, then it is concluded from the improvement of the sentence. The results showed that the analysis of spelling errors in the form of punctuation and italics contained 11 errors from two online news detiknews and tribunnews
The rhetorical strategies of the Quran
This research was aimed to analyze translation strategies in the Quran. The content analysis method with the qualitative approach used in the research. The data in this study are words, phrases, sentences in the text of the translation of the ayahs of the Glorious Qur'an surah Albaqarah ayah 1 to ayah 286. The procedure applied in the analysis of the data is the inductive model procedure. The development model of the rhetorical strategies used by Toulmin model. The results showed the model development strategies IV (G.W. B à C). The other model used the alternative model. It is another model appeared aside from what Toulmin has given, W. B à C. Model W. B à C is used as much as 7 times or of 17.5%. The next strategy model that also is a widely used is alternative models W.B. Q à C and the model V is used 5 times (12.5%). Next is the model of strategy III (Ground + Warrant à Claim), used four times or by 10% and the model I (Ground à Claim), model II (Ground-n à n-Claim), model W à C, and model W. R à C each used 1 time or amounting to 2.5%. All of the claims are expressed using complex rhetorical strategies. A claim supported by more than one fact either parallel or not parallel. There are few facts and data (ground), reinforced with a justification or validation data (warrant), reinforced again with power support (backing support) to strengthen one or more than one claim
Makna dan fungsi tuturan register dalam games online “mobile legend†serta pengaruhnya bagi gamers
Mobile Legend is a type of online games that uses communication between players. The purpose of this study was to determine the form, meaning and function of register speech that gamers made when playing Mobile Legend games, and to determine the positive and negative impacts for gamers. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, which describes the data obtained. This research data is the form of speech used by gamers in Mobile Legend. Data obtained from listening, taking notes, and documentation. Data analysis in this research was done by collecting data, reducing data, classifying data, presenting data, and concluding data. Based on the results obtained that there are various types of register speeches, each of which contains a special meaning that has been agreed upon and understood by both parties between Games Mobile Legend players so that communication is effective. The speech function delivered is nothing but to establish communication so that the match runs smoothly. Based on its function, it can be classified based on its speech function, which is divided into 7 categories, namely speech that serves to warn the team because it is being attacked, invite to play Mobile Legend games, order the team to attack or retreat, praise the team or other players, criticize other teams or players , declare the team's victory, and declare the team's defeat. The good and bad effects of this game on players in terms of language, action, thinking, and social to the surrounding environment
Urgensi pengembangan TPACK bagi guru bahasa Indonesia
TThe objectives of this reseaerch were to describe: (1) Teachers’ competencies in integrating Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in lesson plan; (2) The urgency of developing TPACK for Indonesian junior high school teachers. The type of research was the descriptive research with the lesson plans of Indonesian junior high school teachers as substantive data source. The locative data source of this research was the junior high schools in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The data collection technique is done by using document observation and questionnaires. This technique is used to obtain identification of the lesson plan components related to Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and Technological Content Knowledge (TCK). Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic method to show the degrees of mastery percentage of Indonesian teachers’ PCK and TCK. The conclusions of this study were stated as follows: (1) the ability of teachers to integrate technology is still limited to the use of PowerPoint, (2) the learning resources used by teachers are still limited to conventional textbooks, not the technology-based online sources, (3) the integration of technology by teachers in preparing lesson plans is still minimum, and (4) teachers are already using technology, but are still limited to CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction). Based on the research results above, it is concluded that the development of TPACK for Indonesian language teachers at the junior high school level is urgent
