Advances in Manufacturing Processes: Select Proceedings of ICEMMM 2018
The Two-day International Conference on “Engineering Materials, Metallurgy and
Manufacturing” (ICEMMM 2018) is organized by the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam, Chennai. The advent
of the digital age is seeing a robust growth of research in smart materials and
technologies, while the manufacturing processes ensure in making these new age
products and prototypes. The need for energy savings, environment protection, and
green-rated processes are further accelerators in the right direction. We are therefore
happy to organize the International Conference on Engineering Materials,
Metallurgy and Manufacturing (ICEMMM 2018) on February 15–16, 2018, in our
esteemed institution.
The aim and scope of the conference is to provide a robust
platform for academicians, researchers, scientists, and students to present their
ongoing research work in cutting-edge areas of materials, metallurgy, and manufacturing. It is also the endeavor of this conference to bring to the forefront the seminal research works in these key areas by eminent scholars worldwide and provide them with an opportunity to share their success stories with an earnest audience. This conference hopes to provide enough food for thought on challenges
faced by the industry and eagerly awaits the amalgamation of ideas and solutions to

Cooperative Spectrum Sensing and Resource Allocation Strategies in Cognitive Radio Networks
Cognitive radio networks (CRN) will be widely deployed in the near future, and this SpringerBrief covers some important aspects of it, as well as highlighting optimization strategies in Resource Allocation and Spectrum Sensing in CRNs. The cognitive approach in radio access is introduced in the first part of this SpringerBrief, and then next the benefits of cooperative spectrum sensing are highlighted and a framework for studying it under realistic channel conditions is described. New exact closed-form expressions for average false alarm probability and average detection probability are derived in this scenario. A novel approximation to alleviate the computational complexity of the proposed models are also discussed.
Once the spectrum opportunities are identified, efficient and systematic resource allocation (RA) shall be performed. The second part of this SpringerBrief describes the taxonomy for the RA process in CRN. A comprehensive overview of the optimization strategies of the CRN RA is also provided. The device-to-device (D2D) communication scenario is discussed, then as a case study and various optimization strategies for the application of the CR technology in the D2D realm is studied. The application of advanced geometric water-filling (GWF) approach in CRN D2D environment for optimum resource allocation is presented in detail. Numerical results provide more insight quantitatively. Overall, this book is suitable for a wide audience that include students, faculty and researchers in wireless communication area and professionals in the wireless service industry

Diabetes if untreated results in prolonged hyperglycaemia which can lead to diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy. Treatments for diabetes include oral medication and insulin therapy. The risk associated with insulin therapy is hypoglycaemia. Diabetics monitor their blood glucose levels using capillary blood
glucose monitors or Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS).
The aim of the artificial pancreas is to improve the quality of diabetics’ lives. An
electromechanical artificial pancreas essentially consists of a glucose sensor, drug
delivery system, and a controller. An issue with subcutaneous glucose sensing and
insulin delivery is the time lags between venous and interstitial fluid glucose
concentrations. An implantable artificial pancreas employing intravenous glucose
monitoring and insulin delivery more closely mimics pancreatic insulin secretions
to the portal vein.
Model Predictive Control (MPC) can be extended for hypoglycaemia avoidance
and to take various constraints into account. Parameters of models used have
inter-patient variance; hence, patient-specific models are preferred. Patient parameters can also change over time with physiological changes. An artificial pancreas
system that adaptively tunes the patient-specific controller is proposed.
The artificial pancreas is to be implanted in the ilium and the device has to fit the
space and encapsulate the controller and the insulin delivery system. Automatic
insulin dosage is handled by a low-power microcontroller, with wireless communication for data logging. As an implantable glucose sensor is planned to be used in
the artificial pancreas, two fluid flow connections integrating intravenous glucose
sensing and insulin delivery were investigated and compared
Mendeteksi Serangan Buffer Overflow pada Source Code Bahasa C menggunakan Metode Taint Analysis
Program merupakan bagian yang yang sangat penting dari kemajuan teknologi pada zaman seperti sekarang. Program banyak di ciptakan oleh programmer- programmer handal yang tentunya harus memenuhi kebutuhan dari kemajuan teknologi itu sendiri, dalam membuat suatu program pastinya ada beberapa faktor penting yang harus di penuhi salah satunya adalah faktor keamanan dari program itu sendiri. Biasanya peretas lebih banyak menyerang aplikasi melalui program, salah satu program yang rentan terhadap serangan yaitu program dengan bahasa C. Bahasa pemograman jenis ini di kenal rentan terhadap serangan cyber khususnya serangan buffer overflow. Karena bahasa C tidak memiliki automatic bounds checking untuk mengecek batasan suatu buffer. Serangan ini dapat dipicu oleh suatu masukan yang ditambahkan secara berlebihan melebihi jumlah atau ukuran data yang akan memenuhi memory pada program yang di jalankan dan serangan ini akan memberikan access control pada program tersebut. Terdapat beberapa metode yang bisa di lakukan untuk mendeteksi serangan buffer overflow , salah satu metode yang dapat di gunakan adalah dengan metode taint analysis . Metode ini befungsi untuk mengecek fungi – fungsi yang berpotensi sebagai ancaman buffer overflow dengan mengedepankan presentase akurasi sebesar 90% dan waktu eksekusi 0.026 detik pada hasil uji cobanya

Buku merupakan salah satu sumber informasi yang bisa digunakan sebagai media untuk memperluas pengetahuan. Dengan memasuki era digital dimana banyak orang mengunggah dan mengakses informasi menggunakan media internet. Karena mudahnya penyebaran informasi melalui media digital, penggunaan buku saat ini sudah menurun meskipun isi buku tersebut sudah tersertifikasi dan bisa dijamin isi kontennya. Seiring perkembangan zaman dimana segalanya dapat diakses secara online, maka peminat buku juga pasti merasakan dampak dari perkembangan yang sudah terjadi seperti munculnya kebutuhan akan adanya buku digital yang bisa dijadikan sebagai media alternatif dalam menemukan informasi. Dari permasalahan yang ada, kami memberikan solusi yaitu menyediakan platform berupa aplikasi yang diberi nama “MY LIB”. Aplikasi ini dapat diakses menggunakan desktop, IOS, dan android. Model pembangunan aplikasi untuk publikasi buku digital ini menggunakan metode Waterfall yang dimulai dari tahapan Requirement, design, coding, testing dan revisi. untuk pembuatan aplikasi menggunakan flutter untuk android dan IOS, sedangkan PHP untuk Desktop. Hasil dari pembuatan aplikasi ini di uji dalam pengujian acceptance testing dari pengguna untuk mengecek kelayakan dari aplikasi yang dibuat. Dari aplikasi yang di buat di harapkan pengguna dapat membaca dan membagikan buku kepada orang lain
