One way to detect the presence of the White Spot Syndrome Virus in several organs Vaname shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei) were infected with the method of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). WSSV virus isknown to attack various target organs, but it is difficult to detect early on shrimp. Therefore, this study aims todetect the presence of the distribution of White Spot Syndrome Virus in several organs Vaname shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei) were infected with the Polymerase Chain Reaction method in order to early detectionefforts for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by the virus. Organ observed that the swimming legs, gills, stomach and antennal gland. Research stages include sample preparation and DNA extraction, DNAamplification and electrophoresis. DNA extraction was performed using the method DTAB and CTAB-DNAamplification is done by using nested PCR. The emergence of DNA bands is an indicator of the presence ofWSSV in shrimp Vaname several organs which are then presented desktriptif. The results showed four WSSVinfected organs were observed. Based on the appearance, the entire sample of the swimming leg and antennalgland positively infected, then successively gills and stomach. The swimming leg can be used to diagnose thedisease early on shrimp WSSV Vaname without turning off the shrimp. Keywords : Distribution, Vanname shrimp, WSSV, PC

oai:ojs.unhas:article/113This study aimed to determine and compare community structure and assemblages species of zooplankton at Kodingareng and Lanyukang Island. This study used randomly sampling method and the sampling was conducted on July, August and October 2012. Data was analysed using at PRIMER software program. The results showed that zooplankton at Kodingareng and Lanyukang Isla nd had 48 taxa. 47 taxa was found when sampling at dry season and 25 taxa was found when the sampling at wet season. The species was only found at Kodingareng Island were Cypris and Amphipod, while the species was only found at Lanyukang Island was  Luciferidae zoea, Tad  Pole  and  Tintinid.  The  highest  average  of  zooplankton  abundance  was  found  at  dry  season  sampling  at Lanyukang Island, account for 670 individu/L. The result of ANOSIM showed that the level of significance of zooplankton  community  structure  a t  Lanyukang  and  Kodingareng  Island  was  0.5%.  Based  on  nMDS  plot  of zooplankton assemblages species between Lanyukang and Kodingareng Island showed clear seperation. The SIMPER result showed that there was no species seperator of community structure between those islands due to there was the same dominance of species, such as Calanoida, Cyclopoida, dan Chaetognatha

The objective of the present study was to use selected RAPD markers (Primer UBC-122 and YNZ-22) in parental selection to the bacterial Vibrio alginolyticus resistance in Tiger groupers (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus).  Eighteen fish parent samples were challenged with Vibrio alginolyticus and parental selection was examined by a PCR-RAPD method.   The results showed that from 18 fish samples, primer YNZ-22 generated 18 fragments while primer UBC-122 generated 8 fragments only (KHP, KB, HB, PB, MKH, MH, K and MK).  In addition, the average number of fragments from each samples generated from primer-YNZ was higher (3,2) than from UBC-122 (2,3). This indicates that primer YNZ-22 is better than primer UBC-122 to use in parental selection to the Vibrio alginolyticus resistance in Tiger groupers.  From the parental selection, five fish parents (KHP, PB, MH, K and  MK) were selected for their high resistance to the bacterial Vibrio alginolyticus

The vulnerability of Makassar coast was measured using parameters of Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI). CVIvalue was determined using geomorphology, shoreline change, coastal slope, mean wave height, mean tidalrange, and relative sea level change parameters. The Makassar coast was divided into a numbers of cells, eachwith the length of 1 km and width of 0.5 kminto the sea. CVI values werecalculated for each cell and the coastalvulnerability wereclassifiedinto five categories: very low - low - medium - high - very high. The results show thatthe coastline with high to very high vulnerability index are located at the southern part of Makassar, while thenorthern coastline generally have low to moderate vulnerability. The CVI parameters which contributed to highsusceptibilitywere the coastal slope and the shoreline change parameters. The objective of this study is to characterize benthic substrate of Bonetambung reef area using worldview 2 highresolution satellite imagery. About 14.273 depth spot were deploy to build bathimetric model of the study area. The correlation of pixel radiance value from satellite imagery and depth value from field measurement werebecame the basis to classify geomorphologic zone of shallow water area up to 7 meter depth. Between threeinterpolator tested, the natural neighbor interpolator has produced the best bathymetric model with root meansquare error 0.3 meter and benthic substrate coverage model with thematic accuracy 62%. These approach beable to recognize four substrate type in general, such as sand, seagrass, rubble and coral. Geomorphicsegmentation based on bathymetric profile and radiance value of worldview 2 imagery may also maps the reefflat, reef slope and lagoon area hence may support the benthic substrate modeling. This study showed us apotential technic to develop a modelling for juvenile fish transport at Bonetambung coral waters.Key words: benthic substrate bathymetry, worldview imagery, thematic accurac
