A Simplified Technique for Orientation of a Bone Anchored Auricular Prostheses: a Clinical Report
Background: A simple technique was presented in this clinical report for orientation of a bone anchored auricular prosthesis. Methods: The proposed technique includes drawing the intact ear on a transparent celluloid paper or radiographic film and flipping it to the opposite side and relating it to the fixed anatomical features on the face of patient. Results: The drawing, by this way provides a simple and easy way to duplicate and transfer the exact size and position of the intact ear to the defect side. Conclusions: This technique provides a simple, safe, inexpensive and time saving yet, an accurate and effective surgical template that orients the craniofacial implants to the confines of the definitive auricular prosthesis. It is indicated for restoration of single missing external ear either in aplasia, injuries and total resection
Social entrepreneurship : theory and practice / Ryszard Praszkier, Andrzej Nowak.
economic&political bookfair2015Includes bibliographical references and index.xx, 228 pages :"There are certain kinds of people who garner enormous satisfaction from successfully taking on a "mission impossible" and, by so doing, actually manage to change the world, sometimes in surprising ways. Such individuals are rare, and when we become aware of them and their astonishing achievements, we observe that they cannot easily be pigeonholed or defined by their own circumstances, that is to say, they are the products of rural as well as urban areas; of developing as well as developed countries; of large cities as well as remote areas; they may be Gurkhas from the Himalayan Mountains or Maasais from East Africa. They may be well-known figures, such as Mohammad Yunus recipient of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, or anonymous, unrecognized teachers from small villages. The question then becomes: If they are such a diverse group, what characteristics do they have in common, which allow us to identify them under one unifying rubric? And which of these shared attributes distinguish them from other social activists? These are the underlying questions that inform the book"-- Provided by publisher
Graph algorithms / Shimon Even ; edited by Guy Even.
Includes bibliographical references and index.Book Fair 2013.xii, 189 p. :"Shimon Even's Graph Algorithms, published in 1979, was a seminal introductory book on algorithms read by everyone engaged in the field. This thoroughly revised second edition, with a foreword by Richard M. Karp and notes by Andrew V. Goldberg, continues the exceptional presentation from the first edition and explains algorithms in a formal but simple language with a direct and intuitive presentation. The book begins by covering basic material, including graphs and shortest paths, trees, depth-first-search, and breadth-first search. The main part of the book is devoted to network flows and applications of network flows, and it ends with chapters on planar graphs and testing graph planarity"--Provided by publisher."Shimon Even's Graph Algorithms, published in 1979, was a seminal introductory book on algorithms read by everyone engaged in the field. Mobile applications with Java
"Using the Google Web Toolkit and PhoneGap"--P. [1] of cover.viii, 72 p. :"This project-driven book shows you how to build portable apps with two ... open source frameworks, Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and PhoneGap. With these tools, you'll learn how to write Java code that compiles into cross-platform JavaScript and HTML, and discover how to take advantage of features in several popular devices, such as the camera, accelerometer, and GPS ... [and] package your apps for iOS, webOS, and Android with PhoneGap"--P. [4] of cover
Structural Synthesis of Mechanically Constrained Single Loop 6-Bar Chain
In the present work, graphical enumeration technique is applied for structural synthesis of mechanically constrained planar arallel obot formed by single loop 6bar chain or two 3R chains. Two RR chains are added to the considered system to mechanically onstraint the movement of its end-effector. Structural code has been proposed as a new systematic methodology to detect
isomorphic graphs. Therefore, 32 non-isomorphic graphs are obtained from this enumeration process. All these graphs represent one-degree-of freedom eight-bar mechanisms. Reverse transformation process is presented to obtain the corresponding linkage diagrams for all results
Novel 4(3H)-Quinazolinone analogs: Synthesis and Anticonvulsant Activity
A new series of quinazoline analogs was designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity. Compounds 6, 12, 21, 36, 37,and38 showed 70–100 % protection against PTZ-induced seizures acting as GABA receptor agonists. Compound N- 3,4,5,6-tetrachlorophthalimido)-2-[(3-phenyl-4-oxo-6-methyl-3H-quinazolin2-yl)-thio] acetamide (12) representing the moderate active compounds and 2-[6-iodo-4-oxo-2-(thiophen-2-yl)-quinazolin-3(4H)-yl]-isoindoline-1,3-dione (38) representing the remarkably active compounds in this stud, showed ED A values of 457 and 251 mg/kg; TD values of 562 and 447 mg/kg; PI alues of 1.22 and 1.78, LD 50 values of 1,288 and 1,380 mg/kg, and TI values of 2.82 and 5.50, respectively. Compound 38 roved to be almost twofold more active than the standard drug sodium valproate
