Young Egyptians Use of Social Networks and the January 2011 Revolution
The 2011 Egyptian protests began on Tuesday 25 January in Tahrir, one of Cairo’s biggest squares. On January 25 and 26, the Egyptian government blocked Twitter in Egypt and later Face book was blocked as well. Most observers of the Egyptian scene at that time, claimed that the responsible governmental authorities did this, in an attempt to stop mobilization for anti-government protests. A report in March 2011[3] highlights a significant increase in the use of the Internet in Egypt in the wake of the January 25 protests. "A large increase in the number of web surfers and users of social networking sites reported to change the pattern of use and the interests of the of the Internet contents”. According to the report, the number of Internet users in Egypt prior to nuary
25 was 21.2 million users, increased by almost 9% after this date to reach 23.1 million in two months. The time Egyptian users
spent online was doubled from 900 to 1800 minutes per months after 25 January 2011. Still, Egypt's Internet penetration rate is less than 25%. This paper investigates cultural issues in human computer interaction. The paper explores the specific xperiences of young Egyptian Internet users and their interaction through social media during and after the Egyptian protest in 25 January 2011. Thermo-Elastic Half Space Under Illumination of a Laser Beam by Using Lord and Shulman Theory
The problem of thermo-elasticity, based on the theory of Lord and Shulman with one relaxation time, is used to solve a two-dimensional boundary value problem for a semi- infinite medium heated by a pulsed laser beam. The surface of the medium is taken as traction free. The general solution is obtained in the Laplace and Hankel transforms domain. Approximate small time analytical solutions to temperature, displacement, and stress are obtained. Results of this problem are presented graphically
Phylogenetic Identification of Burkholderia Cepacia Isolates from Human Chest Infection from Different Hospitals
The genus Burkholderia includes three closely related microbial species that highlight
diverse evolutionary adaptation to different niches and hosts. Burkholderia mallei are a
soliped-specific pathogen that only occasionally infects humans. Burkholderia pseudomallei are a free-living soil microbe and the causative agent of the subtropical human disease melioidosis. The species that presently constitute the Burkholderia cepacia complex
(Bcc) have multiple roles; they include soil and water saprophytes, rhizosphere parasites,
bioremediators, plant growth promoters and plant, animal and human pathogens. Members
of the Bcc are particularly associated with lifethreatening respiratory infections in patients
with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), and are the most potentially virulent, transmissible and inherently resistant microbes to have emerged as cystic fibrosis (CF) pathogens in recent decades(1;2). Burkholderia cepacia complex (Bcc) is a diverse group of 17 closely related species of the β-proteobacteria
subdivision and widely distributed in natural
and man-made inhabitats. In spite of advances
in treatment and prevention, bacterial pathogens
still pose a major threat on public health
worldwide. To understand how pathogenic
bacteria interact with their hosts to produce
clinical disease is a fundamental issuePhylogenetic analysis of Burkholderia cepacia was achieved based on the variation of β-Lactamases
production and antibacterial reactivity to different antibiotics. Sub inhibitory concentrations of
augmentin down-regulates the production and/or release of exoprotein and this effect increase with
increasing of the tested concentration. ESBLs was detected using double disc synergy test and combined
ESBL test. Effect of reactivity of B.cepacia spp was influenced by antibiotic where Amoxicillin/ clavulanic
acid showed the highest inhibitory effect and in turn clear zone dimension. Also, TEM-1 and SHV-1 genes
electrophoretic pattern detected by both PFGE and RAPD. Different isolates showed a similarity to
standard B.cepacia ranging from 94-95 %. Data recorded revealed the β-Lactamases genes showed a
variable protein bands pattern revealing reactivity to antibiotics
