Card Sorting Assessing User Attitude in E-Learning
Various undergraduate and post graduate educational bodies, now a day, employ blended learning systems to complement the face to face commu- nication between educator and learner. While E-learning tools in general have been found to improve access to resources, these tools need to be reliable and usable; the ease of use of E-learning would have a meaningful impact on the learning experience.This paper investigates learners' perception of quality and willingness to use of E-learning environments. It also explores the attitude of users from two dif- ferent cultural groups towards a number of E-learning sites. The paper aims to reveal some of the perception of quality for these groups of users in interacting with learning virtual communities. In September/ October 2013, series of card sorting sessions were conducted with number of learners enrolled in a joint venture European-Arab Master Pro- gram. In the individual sessions, each participant was asked to look at card of selected E-Learning sites, and to choose a single criterion by which the E- learning main pages could be differentiated from one another. Cards were then sorted based on different categories under each criterion. Participants repeated sorting the cards according to criteria and categories they generated. A second round of sorting sessions were conducted by the same participants, where they sorted the same cards according to the Willingness to Use criterion, and pro- vided a reason for the sorting decisions made. The analysis of the card sorting sessions reveals some interesting findings concerning interface elements which seem to be salient for users in E-learning environment, such as: Interface Comprehensibility and Obviousness, Content Usefulness, and Site Affiliation and Reputation. Some differences in quality perception were also found between the two cultural groups This paper makes a contribution to universal access in HCI by describing the quality perception, preferences, and general attitude for different group of users in the context of E-learning environment

ENHANCEMENT OF ORAL BIOAVAILABILITY OF REPAGLINIDE BY SELF-NANOEMULSIFYING DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Repaglinide is considered the drug of choice for diabetic patients with impaired kidney function as it is excreted mainly in the bile. Unfortunately, it possesses low oral bioavailability of approximately 56 %. Therefore, nano-sized globules containing the drug are expected to enhance its bioavailability and sustain its glucose lowering action. Self nano-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) of repaglinide have been prepared for improving the water solubility and oral bioavailability of the drug. Various compositions of SNEDDS were prepared using four types of oils (oleic acid, isopropyl myristate IPM. Labrafil 1944 and 2125), surfactants (chromophore El35, chromophore RH 40, Labrasol and Span 20) and a variety of co- surfacatnts. Low energy emulsification was adopted as the method of preparation for its feasibility and low cost. The prepared nano-emulsions showed small average droplet size (13.5-20 nm) and low polydispersity index (0.10 - 0.30). In-vitro dissolution studies indicated that the drug release from some of the prepared nanoemulsion droplets reached 75 % within the first 30 minutes. The in-vivo data demonstrated that repaglinide in the nano-emulsion formulations F8 (IPM, Cremophor EL35 and Propylene glycol) and F16 (Oleic acid, Cremophor RH40 and Lauroglycol FCC) lowered the plasma glucose level (< 110 mg/dL) of experimental rabbits in a similar trend to that of the commercial product (Novonorm®), moreover, it caused an excess reduction in blood glucose level at the end of the 24 hrs period by virtue of its long circulation time compared to the marketed formula
The Impacts of Changing of Mandatory Information Systems on the End-User Satisfaction
This research aims to understand the impact of changing of multiple separated IS’s by one integrated IS on the End-user satisfaction as a surrogate to IS success. The proposed research model uses a combined approach deals with the new IS implementation as an organizational change based on change management effectiveness, user readiness for change, user resistance to change and Individual-related change self efficacy from one side and as technological innovation based on information quality, system quality and service quality from the other side. Data collected from a longitudinal field survey before, during and after a new IS implementation are analyzed to test the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that End-user overall satisfaction is strongly influenced by change management, user readiness for change and IS quality factors during and post the implementation. The study draws attention to the role change management has in building user readiness, reduce change resistance, increase change self efficacy to increase End-user overall satisfaction of the new IS. Also, the important roles of quality factors of the new IS which depend on the significant contribution of information quality, system quality and service quality on the End-user overall satisfaction of the new information system especially, system quality during implementation and service quality after the implementation. The study contributes to the IS literature by providing a new perspective that complements the extant IS adoption as well as change management and IS quality research
