Modelling of damage patterns of RC concrete columns under demolition by blasting
A numerical study for damage of RC columns under demolition blasting has been carried out and the results were compared with available experimental work. Basic considerations for the finite element method of the LS-DYNA Program are introduced. Equations of state models as well as three constitutive material models (the concrete mass, the reinforcing steel, and the high energy explosive material) are described in detail. In the present work, three Finite Element modeling of steel bars as beam, solid elements or by converting reinforcement quantity into concrete solid elements have been examined through comparison with available experimental work. The influence of different parameters on the blasting damage pattern of RC columns has been investigated. These parameters include steel rebar arrangement, explosive factors and the concrete strength of columns. The results have been presented and discussed. Evaluation of ridge changes in immediate implant placement in split crest technique
Objectives: This research was carried out to evaluate crestal bone level changes around dental implants immediately installed after split-crest technique in mandible. Materials and Methods: Ten patients receiving 20 dental implants with inadequate mandibular buccolingual dimension, 23 mm of crestal width; and sufficient height from the tip of the alveolar ridge to the inferior alveolar canal were evaluated in this retrospective study. All the patients underwent split-crest technique with immediate implant insertion. Implant placement was conducted through a conventional two- step procedure. After 4 months the patients received a mandibular (partial or complete) overdenture retained by ball and socket attachments. Crestal bone level changes around dental implants were assessed using cone beam computed tomography.Results: Using the split ridge technique showed high rate of success and minimal ridge height changes

This is based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), or GPS, positioning, remote sensing, digital photography for data acquisition, and a geographic information system (GIS) for data manipulation and data output. This book attempts to present the required basic background for remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, and GIS in the new geoinformatics concept in which the different methodologies must be combined. For remote sensing, the basic fundamentals are the properties of electromagnetic radiation and their interaction with matter. This radiation is received by sensors and platforms in an analogue or digital form, and is subject to image processing. In photogrammetry, the stereo concept is used for the location of information in 3D. With the advent of high-resolution satellite systems in stereo, the theory of analytical photogrammetry restituting 2D image information into 3D is of increasing importance, merging the remote sensing approach with that of photogrammetry. The result of the restitution is a direct input into geographic information systems in vector or raster form. The fundamentals of these are described in detail, with an emphasis on global, regional, and local applications. In the context of data integration, a short introduction to the GPS satellite positioning system is provided.
