Cellular uptake, cytotoxicity and in-vivo evaluation of Tamoxifen citrate loaded niosomes
One of the main challenges in Tamoxifen cancer therapy is achieving localized,
efficient and sustained delivery without harming normal healthy organs. This study focused on evaluating Tamoxifen Citrate (TMC) niosomes for localized cancer therapy through in-vitro breast cancer cytotoxicity as well as in-vivo solid anti-tumor efficacy. Different niosomal formulae were prepared by film hydration technique and characterized for entrapment efficiency % (E. E), vesicle size, morphology, and in- vitro release. The cellular uptake and anti-cancer activity were also tested in-vitro using MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. Moreover, in-vivo anti-tumor efficacy was examined in Ehrlich carcinoma mice model through reporting solid tumor volume regression and tissue TMC distribution. The obtained niosomes prepared with Span 60: cholesterol (1: 1 molar ratio) showed a distinct nano-spherical shape with EE up to 92.3% ± 2.3. Remarkably prolonged release of TMC following diffusion release behavior was detected. The optimized formula showed significantly enhanced cellular uptake (2.8 fold) and exhibited significantly greater cytotoxic activity with MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. In-vivo experiment showed enhanced tumor volume reduction of niosomal TMC when compared to free TMC. Based on these results, the prepared niosomes demonstrated to be promising as a nano-size delivery vehicle for localized and sustained TMC cancer therapy
Chemical Composition and Biological Activity of the Essential Oils Obtained From Yellow and Red Carrot Fruits Cultivated In Egypt
The chemical composition of the essential oils from the fruits of Daucus carota var. sativus (yellow carrot) and var. boissieri (red carrot) was determined using GC/FID and GC/MS. Altogether; 29 and 32 compounds were identified accounting for 96.58 and 96.72 % of the total detected components in the hydrodistilled yellow and red carrot oils, respectively. Carotol constituted the major component in both oils (~66‒68 %). The antioxidant activity was assessed using both diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) and 2- deoxyribose degradation (2-DR) assays. Both oils reduced DPPH• and inhibit 2-DR with IC50 values of 12.71, 14.15, mg/ml and 87.15, 88.75 µg/ml for the yellow and red carrot oils, respectively. Inhibition of both 5- lipoxygenase (5-LOX) enzyme and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production were used to assess the anti- inflammatory activity. Yellow carrot oil showed better activity towards inhibition of 5-LOX (IC50 of 37.53 µg/ml). The cytotoxicity of both oils was determined against both MCF-7and HepG-2 cancer cell lines using the sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay. The highest cytotoxic activity was observed against HepG-2 cell with IC50 values ranging from 163-172 μg/ml for both oils. These results indicate promising antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of both oils and provide a rationale for their uses in many skin diseases

Value Engineering (VE) concept does not mean a cost reduction only, but it extends beyond. VE is a powerful problem-solving tool that can reduce costs while maintaining or improving performance and quality requirements. It's a function- oriented, systematic team approach to providing value in a product or service. Construction project as a product or service is generally considered to have good value if this product or service has appropriate performance and cost. The construction product's characteristics differ than those in manufacture in many aspects such as immobility, complexity, durability, cost lines, and high degree of social responsibility. These characteristics are highly affected by the construction technology. Where, adopting these new technologies and working method in proper work environment can maximize the product with a working time reduction by 25% and cost reduction by 20% in average. Slip Form (S.F) is considered one of these common methods of construction. An assessment of the S.F includes productivity, appropriate speed in addition to auxiliary resource combinations. This research aims at create awareness of VE, and demonstrated the benefits gained when it applied to construction projects

EVALUATION OF NANOLEAKAGE OF TWO DUAL CURE SELF-ADHESIVE RESIN CEMENTS
Aim of the study: This in vitro study was conducted to evaluate nanoleakage of two contemporary dual cured self-adhesive resin cements bonding high strength ceramic to dentin. Materials and Methods: sixteen rectangular-shaped zirconia blocks (ICE Zirkon Translucent ZirkonZhan, Italy) were fabricated and divide into two group according to cements used for cementation of zirconia blocks to freshly prepared flat dentin surfaces to form assemblies. (Group1- RelyXU200 (RXU200), (3M ESPE Germany) and group2- Multilink® Speed (MS), (Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein)). Each group were divided to three subgroups ten assemblies in each according to storage periods 1day, 7 days without thermocycling and 7 days with thermocycling for 500 cycles at temperature between 5 and 55 period the assemblies were sectioned into1 mm thick slaps. Two slaps from each assembly were selected, stained with 50wt% ammoniacal silver nitrate and tested for nanoleakage using Electron Dispersive Analytical X-ray (EDAX). Results: Group 2 showed the higher insignificant mean of nanoleakage (15.55±4.47 AgL in wt%) than group 1 (13.83±5.36 AgL in wt%). One day follow-up period showed the highest significant mean of nanoleakage (18.35±4.18 AgL in wt%) followed by seven days without thermocycling (13.10±4.44 AgL in wt%) and 7 days with thermocycling (11.87±4.13 AgL in wt%). Conclusions: RXU200 cement had lower mean of nanoleakage than MS and Storage time had influences on nanoleackage but thermocycling had not
