An Augmented Reality Museum Guide
However, we look forward to create an application that helps visitors to get information on each artifact shown in the museum by providing information and images for each artifact in an augmented reality style. The application developed is meant to be a proof of concept to prove that augmented reality has great potential when used properly; can provide intuition & immersiveness to the end-user
ANALYSIS STUDY OF THE AXIAL TRANSPORT AND HEAT TRANSFER OF A FLIGHTED ROTARY DRUM OPERATED AT OPTIMUM LOADING
The objective of the present work is to study the performance of a flighted rotary drum operated at optimum loading (design loading). A lot of experiments were carried out on a 0.5 m diameter and 0.15 m length batch rotary drum furnished internally with rectangular flights to assess the design loading. Different loadings were examined through two image analysis methods (manual and automated) of the recorded videos from under loading to over loading, including design loading. Many solid materials (free flowing) with different particle diameters and angles of repose, varied rotational speeds (from 1 to 5 rpm), two numbers of flights (12 and 18), and two flight length ratios (0.375 and 0.75) were researched. The automated method of the image analysis showed significant time saving for the extraction process of the data from the experimental work. However some problems were found when applying the automated method on the current experimental work images. Indicating that a new experimental technique should be developed to facilitate both manual and automated methods. An extension for the experimental work was conducted using a bigger drum of 1.0 m diameter and 0.3 m length. This extension was based on using a new experimental technique by modifying the location of both the camera and light. The discharge characteristics of the drum were studied in order to get information about the flights holdups, cascading rate and the curtain’s height of fall. A comparison was conducted between the experimental results and some available design loading models from literature and a new fitting factor was proposed. A correlation in terms of the filling degree of design loading conditions and function of all operating parameters was developed. A novel mathematical model was proposed to study the axial transport of solids along the rotary drum using the available experimental results presented in the current work with the application of a case study. This model is able to predict the mean residence time of the solid along the drum. The calculated mean residence time is compared with models available from literature and a new fitting factor was proposed. A mathematical model was developed to describe the heat transfer mechanism in a flighted rotary cooler with application from industry. The results from the heat transfer model gives information about the temperature profiles of the solid and the air along the drum. Two approaches were introduced to calculate the heat transfer area in a flighted rotary drum. New factors for Nusselt correlations of the two approaches were proposed
Combustion.
Includes index.engineering bookfair2015xv, 757 pages,"The parameters essential for the evaluation of combustion systems are the equilibrium product temperature and composition. If all the heat evolved in the reaction is employed solely to raise the product temperature, this temperature is called the adiabatic flame temperature. Because of the importance of the temperature and gas composition in combustion considerations, it is appropriate to review those aspects of the field of chemical thermodynamics that deal with these subjects"-- Provided by publisher
Boosting Creativity Skills & Innovation in Architectural Design Process Using Multimedia
Within architecture, generative design can be defined as the approach of developing applications, or systems which can develop, evolve, or design architectural structures, objects, or spaces autonomously depending on emerging circumstance. This paper tries to add additional design tools to support the existing design tools, to be based efficiently on perceptual actions that are important in the design process. It is a loop design method starting from shapes that are transferred to music , then extracting the parameters of this music into components related to those shapes. The out-coming musical components will be parametrically controlled in order to obtain newly generated music. The modified music shall be transferred back to shapes, materials and light in a pool of alternatives that gives the designer a wide chance to visualize form generation in purely interactive and aesthetic terms. It is the concept of playing music and architecture within a multi-cognitive processes
An Approach for Effort Estimation of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Projects
In the last few decades SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) has become the new trend in the IT industry. Many organizations tend to migrate to SOA in order to cope with the rapidly changing business. Effort estimation of SOA projects has become a real challenge to project managers due to the limited literatures addressing this issue. The traditional effort estimation techniques do not fit SOA projects entirely, as SOA has unique characteristics were not addressed by the traditional cost estimation approaches. These unique SOA characteristics include: loose coupling, reusability, composability and discoverability. On the other hand, cost estimation approaches that were proposed to estimate SOA projects, are still immature and most of them are impractical. They cannot be used in real life projects, as they are more guidelines than actual practical cost estimation approaches. This paper proposes an effort estimation approach for SOA projects that has been applied to different variety of services. It considers SOA characteristics and the various cost factors for different types of services including available, migrated, new and composed services. This proposed approach provides effort estimation technique for each type of service. The proposed approach also gives effort distribution among project phases for easily resources allocation. This framework has been applied to real life projects in the IT industry as the SOA project is divided into its component services and each service is estimated solely based on its type. The services' efforts are then aggregated to calculate the project’s overall effort. The estimated effort relative error in the case studies ranges from 3.66 % and 19.14%
Development of Membrane Electrodes for the Specific Determination of Tetryzoline Hydrochloride in Presence of its Degradation Product in Pharmaceutical Formulations and Biological Fluids
Abstract- Membrane selective electrodes were used to determine tetryzoline hydrochloride (TZH) in pure form, pharmaceutical preparations and in biological fluids. The membrane selective electrodes include construction of water insoluble ion-association complexes. The TZH ion exchangers were formed using tetraphenyl borate (TZH-TPB), phosphomolybdic acid (TZH-PMA) and phosphotungstic acid (TZH-PTA), in a plasticized PVC (polyvinyl chloride) matrix, using dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or dioctylphthalate (DOP) as a plasticizer. The performance characteristics of the developed sensors were evaluated according to IUPAC recommendations. The developed sensors showed good responses but the best electrochemical characteristics and selectivity coefficients were achieved with TZH-TPB sensor using DBP as a plasticizer, where the linear responses of TZH was found within the concentration ranges of 10−6 to 10−2 mol/L and Nernstian slope was calculated to be of 56.8 mV/ decade at 25 °C, over the pH range of 5–9. The suggested method was used to determine TZH in synthetic mixtures, pharmaceutical formulations and in presence of its alkali degradation product. The proposed sensors displayed useful analytical characteristics for the determination of TZH in biological fluids such as rabbit aqueous humor and human plasma. The later application can be used to detect oral TZH poisoning in children. The obtained

Improving the Crew Productivity and Projects’ Performance for the Construction of Steel Structure Projects
Now a days, Steel Structures are playing an important role and constructed worldwide for a variety of functions in environmental conditions in the upcoming buildings, malls, convention centers, hospitals, bridges, underground works, railway stations, stadiums, industrial buildings and high rise buildings,… etc. The steel structure projects differ from conventional structural engineering projects mainly in the special problems that have to be considered during construction, transportation, installation, and operation. The crew productivity improvements are attributed to the technology advances in equipment and construction methods over the last two decades. There are many factors that impact the crew productivity in this field. For every project, productivity, cost, quality, and time have been the main concern. The purpose of the study discussed in this thesis is improving the crew productivity and projects’ performance for the construction of steel structure projects. The research was conducted by personal interviews, literature review, researchers’ knowledge, telephone calls and correspondence via an Email. It was designed model on Matlab in measuring and evaluating the crew productivity of construction of steel structure projects for based on the several factors that affect the steel structure process. The construction industry can use the findings in this thesis as a basis for improving the crew productivity and projects’ performance for the construction of steel structure projectsSupervised by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Rashid Dr. Said Yousif Aboul hagga
