No full textRemote Sensing of Island Habitats in the Loire Valley Using a Drone – Report on Experiment at Îles de Mareau-aux-Prés (Loiret)
No full textLe présent article fait état d’une expérimentation qui s’est déroulée en août 2017 sur un complexe d’îles de Loire d’environ 13 hectares, en aval d’Orléans et dont le sujet portait sur la détection automatique des habi- tats. Nous avons utilisé un drone couplé à un lidar avec des appareils photos dont un était modifié pour accéder aux infrarouges. Après différentes analyses, nous avons comparé nos prédictions à nos données de terrain classées selon la typologie des habitats de Loire (SIEL). Le kappa moyen (0,52) de notre carte reflète des discontinuités de qualité de prédiction notamment entre les milieux ouverts et semi-ouverts. Pour ces derniers, nos résultats montrent qu’il est préférable de rester au niveau supérieur de classification particuliè- rement pour les végétations de grèves. En revanche, le point positif de ce retour d’expérience montre que les cariçaies, les forêts à bois durs ainsi que dans une moindre mesure les peupleraies noires et les zones à Érable américain, sont correctement prédites.This articles reports on an experiment conducted in August 2017 in a group of islands in the Loire river cove- ring some 13 hectares downstream of Orleans involving automated sensing of habitats. We used a drone in combination with a Lidar equipped with photo cameras. One of these cameras was altered to access infra- red. Following various analyses, we compared our predictions with our field data categorised under the SIEL (Loire habitats) typology. The kappa value (0.52) of our map reflects discontinuities in the quality of predic- tion, particularly as between open and semi-open environments. For the latter, our findings show that it is preferable to stay at the upper level of the classification, particularly for bank vegetation. On the other hand, the positive aspect of this feedback is that it shows that sedge meadows, hardwood forests and, to a lesser extent, birch-leaved poplar groves and areas with boxelder maple, are accurately predicted
Abundant occurrence of Aspidiscus cristatus (Lamarck, 1801) in the "Marnes de Smail" Formation from the Batna area (NE-Algeria): index species for the Middle Cenomanian
Get PDFLes marnes cénomaniennes de la région de Batna (nord-est de l'Algérie) montrent plusieurs niveaux fossilifères, à faune très diversifiée. Parmi les fossiles présents en abondance et en bon état de conservation figure Aspidiscus cristatus (Lamarck, 1801). Cette espèce de polypier a été rattachée à la famille des Latomeandridae Alloiteau, 1952, en raison de la présence de pennulae et de perforations concentrées sur le bord interne des septes. Dans les coupes étudiées, Aspidiscus cristatus se rencontre dans des niveaux allant de la Zone à Cunningtoniceras inerme à la Zone à Acanthoceras amphibolum, avec une relative abondance dans la Zone à Acanthoceras cf. rhotomagense. Cette espèce est, par conséquent, un bon marqueur du Cénomanien moyen de la région de Batna. Nous donnons ici une description paléontologique et discutons des cadres environnemental et paléogéographique de cette espèce. En effet, la morphologie externe de son test, convexe sur la face supérieure, plane à concave sur la face inférieure, évoque une adaptation à des environnements marins de faible énergie, de substrat vaseux et au taux de sédimentation élevé. La répartition paléogéographique de cette espèce, avec des spécimens de taille souvent plus grande sur les marges sud et est du domaine téthysien que sur la marge nord, témoigne d'un gradient thermique et d'une zonation climatique spécifiques, avec des eaux relativement plus chaudes sur la marge sud-téthysienne au Cénomanien, favorisant une bio-érosion beaucoup plus fréquente et plus poussée des spécimens fossiles des régions sud-téthysiennes que celle affectant les spécimens des régions septentrionales de la Téthys.The Cenomanian marls of the Batna region (NE Algeria) display several fossiliferous beds with highly diversified fauna. Among the abundant and well-preserved fossils stands out Aspidiscus cristatus (Lamarck, 1801). This coral taxon is assigned to the Family Latomeandridae Alloiteau, 1952, due to the presence of pennulae and inner septal margins with slight perforations. In the studied sections Aspidiscus cristatus is found in beds ranging from the Cunningtoniceras inerme Zone to the Acanthoceras amphibolum Zone, with a relative abundance within the Acanthoceras cf. rhotomagense Zone. This species is subsequently a good marker for the Middle Cenomanian in the Batna district. We give herein a systematic and paleontological description and discuss the paleo-environmental and paleo-geographic framework of this taxon. Actually the outer morphology of its test, with convex outer surface and planar to concave inner surface, suggests an adaptation to mud-supported, low-energy marine environments with high sedimentary rate. The paleo-geographic range of this taxon, with often larger-size specimens on the southern and eastern margins of the Tethyan Realm, than those on the northern margin, supports very peculiar thermal gradient and climactic zone, with relatively warmer waters on the southern Tethyan margin during the Cenomanian, favoring a more frequent and more effective bio-erosion on fossil specimens from southern Tethyan areas than that affecting specimens from northern Tethyan areas

D'un point de vue phylogénétique, en se fondant sur le modèle du "piston élévateur", ce taxon appartiendrait à une lignée issue des Diploporacées.A new Dasycladacean species found in Hauterivian strata in Aquitaine is described. It is ascribed to the genus Bakalovaella Bucur, 1993, which is reinstated here. From a phylogenetic point of view, based of the "lifting piston" model, this taxon should be part of a lineage derived from the Diploporaceae
Fasciatherapy, what should we understand by this? International experts’ perspective
Get PDFLes fasciathérapies, comme toutes les interventions médicamenteuses, doivent répondre à un certain nombre d’exigences pour gagner leur place dans l’ensemble des actions de santé et de soins déjà existants. Fonder les offres sur des preuves d’efficacité, d’innocuité et d’efficience est un point. Le second est de les définir sans ambiguïté. Et cette tâche qui participe au « faire connaître les bonnes pratiques » ne s’avère pas moins difficile. Trois experts des fascias et des thérapies manuelles qui exercent aux USA, en Grande Bretagne et en Allemagne ont été interviewés et donnent leur opinion sur ce que sont les fascias et ce qu’ils entendent par fasciathérapie. Dans l’attente de celle de trois experts français qui seront publiées dans un numéro à venir.Like all nonpharmacological interventions (NPIs) fasciatherapies must meet several requirements to be recognized along with already existing therapeutics. Firstly, the offer must be based on evidence of efficacy and safety. Secondly new NPIs must be defined accurately. Nevertheless, it is as difficult to define new NPI as it is to prove its efficacy. Three experts in fascias and manual therapy from the USA, UK and Germany have been interviewed. Their opinion on what are fascias and what is encompassed in the term fasciatherapy has been collected. In the meantime, the opinions of three French experts will be published in a coming publication

faisceau d’arguments épidémiologique, clinique, sérologique et thérapeutique, après exclusion des
autres causes aboutissant au même tableau clinique. La thérapeutique s’appuie sur une antibiothérapie
principalement à base de doxycycline. La prévention passe par l’utilisation d’acaricides contre
Ixodes spp., vecteurs des Borrelia et éventuellement l’administration d’un vaccin.Lyme disease is characterized in dogs by fever, arthritis that induces lameness, anorexia, lethargy,
adenomegaly and sometimes fatal glomerulonephritis. In the absence of direct evidence of Borrelia
in the samples, the diagnosis is mainly based on a bundle of epidemiological, clinical, serological and
therapeutic arguments, after exclusion of the other causes leading to the same symptoms. Therapy is
based on antibiotic like doxycycline. Acaricides against Ixodes spp., vectors of Borrelia, are the main
tool for prevention. Vaccines are also possibly available
