Turkey and the Balkan States: Justice and Development Party’s role in filling the void with Balkans
Get PDFA century after the collapse of Ottoman empire, Turkey is trying to bridge the gaps again with the Balkans, some calling it a way of reviving the Ottoman empire, while as few see it as a way of making allies in the region to join European Union. There are many such narratives. This paper will try to analyze how Turkey is trying to make its presence strong in Balkans, whether it is investing in their education, building religious monuments, or bringing stability and peace in the region. This paper will also focus on the growing relations between Turkey and Balkans during the ongoing governance of the Justice and Development Party (AKP)
Exploring effective factors for improving instructors’ job satisfaction in vocational and traditional training institutes in Bhutan
Get PDFThis article aims to study the effective factors for improving instructors\u27 job satisfaction in vocational and traditional training institutes in Bhutan. The study was conducted using quantitative and qualitative methods. The population consisted of 75 instructors working in six technical training institutes and one traditional training institute in Bhutan. A descriptive survey was carried out with 75 instructors and interviews were conducted with 33 instructors. The career ladder, conducive learning environment, adequate tools and equipment were the main reasons leading to job satisfaction of the instructors. Institute management also leads to their job satisfaction. Their general opinions indicated that a clear and appropriate career ladder for instructors must be put in place, timely (four years) promotion should be awarded, the conducive working environment should be created, opportunities for training and retraining must be provided and acknowledging their contributions for achieving the common goals of the institute would enhance the instructors’ job satisfaction. Based on the findings, it is recommended to improve and develop the management practices and increase the level of job satisfaction of instructors by extending support from the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. This should prevent job dissatisfaction and lead to a better-quality training system in Bhutan

Impact of learning, exclusively online, during a pandemic
Get PDFThis study focuses on the use of a distance learning platform to deliver on-line classes, during the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, in a higher school in an urban area. The study is carried out mainly with, the aim of understanding on the perception and admissibility or not of distant teaching, in its entirety, by students accustomed to on-site teaching. The data were collected by the course activities reports and a questionnaire survey carried out among the 207 students registered on a distance learning platform; the results obtained allow to deduce the interest of the learning environment and of the interactions between actors during teaching practices using technological tools in a distant teaching process

Review of Empirical Research on Foreign Language Teachers’Intercultural Teaching Beliefs from the Perspectives of Participants and Methods
Get PDFIn recent years, the topic of language teachers’ intercultural teaching beliefs has attracted considerable research interest. This paper sampled 15 empirical research articles related to foreign language teachers’ intercultural teaching beliefs. Through summarizing and analyzing the main research participants and methods of these studies, the review found that there are some limitations in the research participants and methods. Firstly, from the perspective of the research participants, these studies lay emphasis on middle school English teachers, and few studies take into account teaching experience and teaching environment factors. Then, from the perspective of research methods, this review found that most of the empirical studies are mainly conducted in quantitative methods and some research samples are too small to draw convincing conclusions. What’s more, there are also some limitations on research instruments. In light of these findings, areas for further research are suggested
Teachers’ perceptions of students with special education needs in Two Western Districts of Bhutan
Get PDFThe present study examined Bhutanese teachers’ general perceptions, challenges towards special educational needs (SEN) students, and professional development (PD) and training attended by teachers with their levels of stress. A total of 53 teachers of Two SEN Schools in western Bhutan participated in this study. The data were collected using the online survey. The findings of this study suggest that although, 55% of teachers felt that teaching students with or without disabilities together is a good thing, however, the lack of professional development and further training can thus be a contributing factor why teachers feel stress while teaching students with SEN in these two identified schools. The findings also indicated that teachers learnt skills in SEN mostly through personal initiatives such a doing further research and reading. Similarly, the results of the study showed that the female teachers were said to have experienced more stress compared to their male counterparts. Further, the study also revealed that some of the challenges identified by teachers while teaching students with SEN were the lack of teacher collaboration within the school, lack of resources, overcrowded classrooms and the lack of professional development and training. Alternatively, the results of predictive analysis tended to show a strong negative relationship between the PD and the teacher stress. Further, the correlation and the prediction analyses further revealed that an estimated of 52% variability of stress can be predicted by the PD/trainings attended by the teachers
Roles of Universities in Realization of Industrial Economy in Moshi Urban, Tanzania: The Case of Moshi Co-operative University
Get PDFUniversities are crucial agents of socio-economic development in any nation. They equip students with knowledge and skills which relate to industry, dissemination of knowledge and technical support to industry as well as fostering lifelong learning. Therefore, this study examined the roles of universities in realization of industrialized economy in Moshi Urban in Tanzania. It was guided by human capital theory. The study employed a descriptive research design. 84 students, 15 lecturers and 1 secretary of academic affairs were both randomly and purposively sampled to participate in the study. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect data. The questionnaire attained a Cronbach alpha coefficient of correlation of 0.70 which mean that it was reliable. Quantitative data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and qualitative data were thematically analyzed. The findings revealed that universities are linked to industrial economy and therefore charged with the role of conducting research, offering research courses and implementing projects to promote industrial development which is the cornerstone for successful industrial economy. The results of this study also indicated that in one hand the linkage between universities and industrial economy is not well realized due to a number of challenges, including inadequate resources, political interference, low support from university management and poor technology. On the other hand, the study found that adequate resources and curriculum reform to embrace practical education are among the available opportunities to empower universities towards realizing their roles in promoting industrial economy in Tanzania. The study recommends that the government of Tanzania should ensure conducive conditions and strategies to make universities excel in fulfilling their roles towards sustainable industrial economy

Yeats has supported women issues in his poetry. His poetry presents the women‘s pathetic condition in patriarchal society and sometimes his poetry gives rebellious character to the women. Despite being a male, Yeats has able to suspend male ego in many of his poem. He believes that for the better world men and women should have equality. In this research paper I have selected W.B Yeats\u27 poems entitled "The Living Beauty", "A Prayer for My Daughter", "Leda and the Swan", "The lady\u27s First Song", "The Heart of the Women", "That Crazy Girl", "The Lover Mourns for the Loss of Love" and “Crazy Jane Talks with Bishop" to analyze with feminist perspective . In the selected poems, Yeats raises the voice of women who are suppressed by patriarchy. As a qualitative research, this researcher has purposively selected the poems of W.
