The motif of dawn breeze In ballads
Ballads that are sung with melody and being one of the anonymous folk literature verse represents a significant place in folk culture the terms reflect all aspects of society. Ballads containing in many local and national motifs, faiths, experiences and feelings transpose us both musical and folkloric informaion with it's productive culturel texture. We can see many elements of folk culture and characteristics in the rendered motifs in Turkish folk musics. " the motif of dawn breeze " is one of the motif that face with us frequently in ballads. " Dawn breeze " also known as the " bâd-ı sabâ " comes into prominence with the abilityies to provide contact and communication among public. In folk literature the wind which contains beloved's smell and news blows to admirer, when it opened the door of mercy mentioned as dawn in it's time to thank God in mystical sufi literature. This wind is called as dawn breeze comes into view as a motif in ballads frequently. Considering that one of the main themes of the ballads is love, it's natural that to come across with dawn breeze in the most ballads which contains beloved and admirer. In this research ballads which comprises dawn breeze will be gone about and will be investigated the loaded functions and meanings of this motif how a poses a place in folk culture
Cultural perceptions and clinical experiences of nursing students in Eastern Turkey
AIM:
This study explored Turkish nursing students' perceptions of providing care to patients culturally different from themselves.
BACKGROUND:
Increasing migration will increase the need for nurses to provide care across cultural groups.
METHODS:
Twenty one students in the second year of a 4-year nursing programme participated in 3 focus groups. Data were analysed using directed content analysis. Research questions were based on Campinha-Bacote's model.
RESULTS:
Three themes were identified: perceived cultural barriers, perceived cultural facilitators and identifying culturally sensitive actions. Generally, students were able to define culture but were unable to say how culture would affect nursing practice.
DISCUSSION:
Students were unprepared to practice in a multicultural setting. Cultural awareness is insufficient for determining how to respond to cultural differences.
LIMITATIONS:
The study is limited by its restriction to a single school of nursing and a single curriculum.
CONCLUSIONS:
The multiple, ongoing political, religious and ethnic conflicts will require nurses to provide care to patients from other cultural groups, in some instances to people identified as adversaries to the group the nurse may represent. Understanding cultural differences is insufficient to do this effectively.
IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING EDUCATION:
Learning culturally competent care requires opportunities to provide, be guided through and reflect on care to individuals from different cultural groups.
IMPLICATIONS FOR ORGANIZATIONAL AND PUBLIC POLICIES:
Standards for culturally competent care should be adopted by all care delivery settings. Public and organizational policies openly declaring healthcare settings as cultural safe zones, and explicit organizational commitment to culturally safe care, would set clear expectations for providers and help ensure a positive patient experience
Comparison of number and shape of parr marks in three species of the genus Salmo and two ecotypes of cultured brown trout Salmo trutta from Turkey
This study focused on the variation in number and shape of parr marks in three fish species of the genus Salmo [S. abanticus Tortonese, (1954), S. caspius Kessler, (1877) and S. labrax Pallas, (1814)] and two ecotypes of cultured brown trout [S. trutta macrostigma (Dumeril, 1858) and S. trutta fario Linnaeus, (1758)]. The brown trouts were collected from 11 streams in Turkey by electrofishing and transferred to the laboratory in an aerated container and then stocked in the adaptation tanks. Artificially fertilized eggs were incubated and larvae were maintained in fiberglass tanks and the variations in number and shape of parr marks in all five groups were studied for one year. The data collected indicated that there were significant differences in the number and size (length and width) of parr marks among the groups (p<0.05). The highest number of parr marks (11-13) was recorded in S. trutta macrostigma. Parr marks on the skin of S. trutta. macrostigma was found to remain stable during development
Determination of Hatching Performances and Yolk Sac Absorptions in Black Sea Trout Salmo trutta labrax Pallas 1811
The goal of this study was to evaluate hatching performance, body and yolk weight at hatching, the growth rate and yolk conversion efficiency during the yolk absorption in Black Sea trout (Salmo trutta labrax, Pallas 1811) larvae. In addition, the relationships between length, total wet weight, dry yolk body weights of alevins and degree-days were determined in this study. Our results indicated that the mean dry weights of the body and yolk sac were 2.85 ± 0.87 and 23.92 ± 1.04 mg at hatching and 14.95 ± 1.45 and 1.04 ± 0.90 mg at swimup stages while the mean wet weight was 17.17 ± 1.67 mg (n = 30) at hatching and reached 104.16 ± 8.18 mg just before the swim-up stage, respectively. The mean body dry matter and water content of the larvae were 46.98% and 53.02% at hatching and 14.84% and 85.16% at swim-up stages, respectively. The growth of larva, yolk sac absorption and yolk conversion efficiency were calculated as 0.49 mg/day, 0.99 mg/day and 0.53, respectively. Data here reported also demonstrated that dry yolk and total larval weights and dry matter of the larvae decreased while dry body weight and water content increased with degree-days. In conclusion, the data will provide benefits for production of Black Sea trout
Some population parameters of squalius cephalus linnaeus, 1758 living Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam Lake
Objective: In this study, some biological properties of Squalius cephalus population living in the Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam Lake was to determine having economic importance and to eliminate a portion of the missing information on this area.
Methods: Fish samples were caught from Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam Lake between February 2014 and January 2015. The fish samples were collected using the gill nets with mesh sizes between 36 and 100 mm and each net was 100 m in length. Total length and weight of the each fish sample were measured and their ages were determined from the scales. To determine sex of fishes was investigated gonads by opened its abdomen. Condition factor was calculated from CF= (W*100)/L3 equation. The lengthweight relationship was determined with Le Cren‟s W= a*Lb equation and the age-length relationship was determined with the von Bertalanffy‟s Lt =L∞*(1-e -K*(t –t 0 ) ) equation and to compare obtained growth parameters with previous studies was used Munro and Pauly‟s (1983) phi prime index (Ǿ= logK+2*logL∞).
Results and Discussion: A total of 302 S. cephalus samples (158 males and 144 females) were investigated and age distribution of the population were found between I and VIII years old. The mean total length values were determined between 14.2-42.4 cm for males; between 13.9-41.2 cm for females, and the mean weight values were determined between 24.3-712.2 g for males; between 21.2-698.3 g for females. The equation of total length-weight relationship were found as W= 0.0075*TL3.1247 for all individuals. Fish age-total length relationship were found as Lt= 48.35*(1-e -0.08*(t+2.88)) for males, Lt= 42.39*(1-e -0.08*(t+1.57)) for females. The mean condition factor values were determined between 1.056-1.357 for males; between 0.989-2.187 for females. As a result of fishing activities carried out on the dam consideration of these data it is very important for the sustainable fishing of the population
The stock assessment of crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823) in the Keban Dam Lake
Objective: In this study, it was aimed that the estimating of stock size, stock density and the amount of annual allowable catches of crayfish population in the Keban Dam Lake. It is anticipated that conclusions of the study contribute to fisheries management in the dam lake.
Methods: The study was carried out in the Ağın, Keban, Çermişgezek and Lowland Fishing Areas of Keban Dam Lake between January 2012 and December 2013. The Schnabel Method, one of the multiple marking methods, was used to estimate crayfish stock size. The marking and re-capture studies was conducted in the two periods of October, November, December 2012 and 2013. In the fishing surveys, it was used a total of 1200 crayfish fyke-nets, which used prevalently in the region, with D form and 36 mm stretched mesh size, structured with five hoops and a barrier. The crayfish caught was branded by an electric soldering iron then they were got back their living environment. After crayfish dispersed in the population, re-capture performed by fyke-nets. And later, stock density was calculated for all fishing areas.
Results and Discussion: Mean weight of crayfish with minimum catch length (TL≥10 cm) was detected as 41 g and catch per unit effort (CPUE) was calculated to be 0.13 crayfish/fyke-net/day both 2012 and 2013.
It was determined that crayfish was spread the field of 34470000 m2 in the Keban Dam Lake and density of crayfish with minimum catch length (TL≥10 cm) was 0.91 individual per m2 for 2012 and 1.07 individual per m2 for 2013. Accordingly biomass of crayfish with minimum catch length (TL≥10 cm) was estimated to be 80258 kg for 2012 and 74671 kg for 2013.
Natural mortality rate (M) which calculated in reference to Ursin (1967) was determined to be 0.344. As a result of accepting as 0.5 of optimum exploitation rate (E) calculated from the equation (E=F/Z) proposed by Gulland (1971), The amount of annual allowable catch in the Keban Dam Lake was estimated to be 7.1 tons for Ağın Fishing Area, to be 6 tons for Keban Fishing Area, to be 7.7 tons for Çemişgezek Fishing Area, to be 5.9 tons for Ova region and to be 26.7 tons in a total

NİCEL KÜMELEME KURALLARININ İYON HAREKET ALGORİTMASIYLA OTOMATİK KEŞFİ
Veri madenciliği ile büyük ölçekli veri yığınlarından anlamlı bilgilerin elde edilmesi sağlanmaktadır. Optimizasyon ile bir problemin çözümünde kullanılabilecek alternatif çözümler içerisinden en iyisini seçme amaçlanmaktadır. Optimizasyon problemlerinin çözümünde doğadan esinlenilerek oluşturulmuş çeşitli algoritmalar kullanılmaktadır. Özellikle sezgisel tabanlı optimizasyon algoritmaları büyük ölçekli problemlerin çözümünde etkili sonuçlar verebilmektedir. Bu tez çalışmasında fizik tabanlı güncel metasezgisel optimizasyon algoritmaları detayları ile incelenmiştir. Fizik tabanlı optimizasyon algoritmaları incelenirken öncelikle doğadaki esinlenme kaynakları araştırılmış olup, her bir algoritmanın esinlenilme mantığı ana hatları ile anlatılmıştır. Fizik tabanlı en güncel algoritmalardan İyon Hareket Optimizasyonu detayları ile incelenmiş, esinlenilme şekli ve problemlere uygulanma biçimi irdelenmiştir. C# programlama dilinde İyon Hareket Optimizasyonunu gerçekleştirmek üzere uygulama geliştirilmiş, UCI veri ambarından alınan 4 adet veri tabanı üzerinde kümeleme kurallarının otomatik keşfi sağlanmıştır. Optimizasyon sonucu elde edilen bulguların, aynı veri tabanlarının Weka programında yer alan farklı optimizasyon algoritmaları ile çalıştırılması sonucu elde edilen sonuçlar ile karşılaştırılması sağlanmıştır. İyon Hareket Optimizasyon algoritması kullanılarak kümeleme kurallarının otomatik keşfi ilk kez bu çalışmada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen bu algoritma ile kümeleme kurallarının eş zamanlı otomatik keşfi sağlanmış bulunan sonuçların belirlenen sayıda kümeye otomatik dağıtımı sağlanmıştır
Monitoring Aclonifen Remediation in Soil with a Laboratory Scale Research
Aclonifen was used as the most preferable type of herbicide which is used in sunflower farming in the Thrace Region. Bacteria and fungi were isolated from the soil samples taken from the Thrace Region, and a mixed culture was prepared from equal volumes (108 CFU/mL) of liquid cultures of microorganisms. Including the witness sample, five different setups were prepared, to which Aclonifen, with a concentration of 1900 μg/L, was added. Each unit was diluted with distilled water for six weeks. The water filtered at this stage was measured for chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand, total organic carbon (TOC), and Aclonifen. Additionally, pH and dissolved oxygen measurement was performed. According to the results of the study, the highest bioremediation was observed in the soil sample to which 10 mL of mixed culture of microorganisms was added and Aclonifen, COD, BOD5, and TOC remediation was observed as 93.2%, 97.8%, 98.8%, and 98.7%, respectively.Yıldız Technical University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Department
