The field research of occupational safety for the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions in the construction sector
Veriler, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde inşaat sektöründeki iş kazalarının en büyük sebeplerinin denetim eksikliği, eğitimsizlik ve çalışanın kendi güvenliğini önemsememesi nedeniyle gerçekleştiğini göstermiştirSeveral studies have been made, and regulations have been put into practice in our country like all around the world in the fields of occupational accident and safety. Yet, several defects in practice lead to occupational accidents intensively. While the importance and discipline of occupational safety are paid more attention and are able to be inspected more in the western regions, this situation is a little bit different in the eastern regions.
It was aimed to find out the reasons underlying occupational accidents, the role of working conditions in
occupational accidents, and whether the workers have the awareness of occupational safety in this study. In addition, the study tried to create awareness among the participants through the questions.
For this aim, the interviews were made with 650 participants in 13 different cities in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions within the scope of the study. In the first part of the study, the field studies made with 50 participants working in the construction sector in each city (Kars, Van, Erzurum, Elazığ, and Malatya) in the Eastern Anatolia Region were investigated, and the results were analyzed with statistical methods. The results have shown that the major reasons of occupational accidents in the construction sector in the Eastern Anatolia Region are lack of inspection, lack of education, and the worker’s ignorance of his own safety
On Some Complex Aspects of the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt System
The improved Bernoulli sub-equation function method is used in extracting some new exponential function solutions to the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-KaupKupershmidt system. It is of vital effort to look for more solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt system, which are very helpful for coastal and civil engineers to apply the nonlinear water models in a harbor and coastal design. All the obtained solutions satisfied the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt system. The two- and three-dimensional shapes of all the obtained solutions in this paper are also
presented. All the computations and the graphics plots in this study are carried out with the aid of the Wolfram Mathematica 9

Determining the Phytochemical Parameters of Pisum sativum (pease) and Effects on the Development of Debaryomyces hansenii.
Objective: In this work; phytochemical parameters (fatty acid, vitamin, phytosterol, flavonoid and resveratrol contents, and antioxidant activities antimicrobial activities) of Pisum sativum (pease) extracts prepared with Debaryomyces hansenii were detected. P. sativum (pease) is known as one of the nutritional sources of prebiotics. Methods: Phytochemical contents of extracts were evaluated with device and assays like Shimadzu 17, Shimadzu brand HPLC, Spectrophotometer device and well agar methods respectively. Results: it was observed that total fatty acid, flavonoid, contents in pease extracts were at low levels and vitamin, and phytosterol contents were at changing. It was detected that total fatty acid, vitamin and phytosterol contents; at significant rates of pease extracts prepared with D. hansenii; however, flavonoid contents decreased at different rates. In the work, it was noticed that pease had increasingly antioxidant activities and antimicrobial activities at changing rates, acordingly at fatty acid, vitamin and phytosterol levels; at significant rates increased. On the other hand, flavonoid extracts demonstrated scarcely any antimicrobial activity. When antimicrobial activities of pease extracts containing D. hansenii were analyzed, they had effect at increasing rates of fatty acid, vitamin and phytosterol. On the other hand, it was demonstrated that flavonoid extracts did not have any antimicrobial activity against all of the microorganisms except Bacillus megaterium DSM 32. Conclusion: it was detected that pease which is known as prebiotic food, can be used in terms of proper prebiotic and the relationship of proper prebiotic-prebiotic (symbiotic) for the development of D. hansenii used in this study which is also accepted as probiotic yeast. It was observed that this yeast type developing in extracts obtained from pease affected other beneficial nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, phenolic compounds at varying rates. © 2018, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India. The ability of Phanerochaete chrysosporium (ME446) on chemical oxygen demand remediation in submerged culture medium supplemented with malathion insecticide
This present study aims to evaluating the efficiency of P. chrysosporium (P.c) to degrade the different
concentrations of malathion (MLT) (50, 100 and 150 ppm) under agitated (130 rpm) submerged culture
conditions via reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD). We have previously screening the
growth of fungus in sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) medium for 6 days. We have also determined
the laccase activity during degradation process for 15 days. According to our results the fungus has
achieved 99.6, 98.8 and 98.7 % COD reduction at concentration of 50, 100 and 150 ppm respectively
the end of the 15 days. The highest laccase activity (180 ± 5.69 U/L) was measured at concentration of
50 ppm the end of the 15 days and the lowest activity (36 ± 3.26) was determined at concentration of
150 ppm the end of the 15 days. The dried biomass of fungus was weighted at end of the 15 days and
we have determined that malathion in culture medium reduced the biomass production compared
the control group (SDB + P.c). Our results showed that, P. chrysosporium could be an effective bioremediation tool for treatment of malathion containing wastewater
The assessment of water quality in Ömerli dam reservoir İstanbul Turkey
Omerli dam reservoir is very important source of drinking water for Istanbul metropolitan area. The
present study covers measurement and evaluation of water quality parameters. Omerli Dam Reservoir has eutrophic character in terms of secchi disc depth (varies between 1.0-3.0 m) and phosphorus
parameter (varies between 0.001-3.52 mg/L). It has oligotrophic character in terms of phytoplankton and
carbon produced per unit area. Although pH of the reservoir is often alkaline in character, it shows
categorically weak acid character after heavy rains. The chlorophyll-a parameter measured in the reservoir varies in vertical and horizontal positions. The average chlorophyll-a in the reservoir is 1.03
mg/L. Based on the water temperature measurements in the reservoir, it was determined that there was
stratification in the reservoir during summer months. This stratification (the thermocline) was determined
to be destroyed during winter months and the spring. The mean value of the measured dissolved oxygen in the reservoir was 8.49 mg/L. The TKN average in the reservoir was calculated as 1.83 mg/L. With these parameters, Omerli Dam Reservoir water quality could not be considered in a very clean class. Some rehabilitation studies have been carried out to solve the pollution problem in the lake basin. Preventing the pollution and improving water quality have affected the nature of the reservoir basin but it is necessary to continuously monitor the ecological balance of the reservoir continuously, which is significant for drinking water, fisheries and recreation facilities.Yildiz Technical University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Department. The Prevalence of Campylobacter, Listeria and Salmonella Species in Freshwater and Salt-Water Fish in Eastern Turkey
A total of 154 samples of marine (n=51) and freshwater fish (n=103) were obtained from fish markets in Elazig Province of eastern Turkey. These samples were tested for Campylobacter, Listeria and Salmonella using culturing and biochemical methods. Campylobacter failed to be detected in any freshwater or marine fish samples. Listeria was detected in 22 and 14 of gill and skin samples from freshwater fish, respectively. L. innocua was isolated at a higher prevalence (14.6%) than L. ivanovii (5.8%) and L. monocytogenes (1%) from the gill samples of freshwater fish. In skin samples, L. innocua was detected at higher prevalence (9.7%) than L. ivanovii (2.9%) and L. welshimeri (1%). However, two (1.9%) of the intestine samples of freshwater fish were found to be positive for L. innocua. In addition, L. monocytogenes isolate yielded a positive band by PCR. Listeria murrayi was the most commonly isolated species with a prevalence of 9.8% and 5.9% from the skin and gill samples of marine fish, respectively. However, the lowest prevalence of L. innocua was found (3.9%) from skin samples of marine fish only, but none of the intestine samples of marine fish were tested positive for Listeria spp. L. monocytogenes was not isolated in any marine fish samples.
• The results indicate that fish can carry a pathogenic Listeria species. However, Campylobacter and Salmonella were not detected in marine fish samples suggests that fish pose no or little risk to the human population in Elazig Province in eastern Turkey
Hazardous Waste Management in Turkey
The objective of this study is to analyze the time processes of hazardous waste management (HWM) in Turkey. There should be a holistic evaluation of a country’s hazardous waste management program in terms of theoretical qualifications, best practice applications, and, of course, problems and their solutions. This paper offers a similar approach to evaluate HWM in compliance with the European Union under
the laws of environmental applications. In 2010, 786,418 tons of hazardous waste (HW) were produced in Turkey. Of this, around 18% is sent to municipal garbage dumps, 0.6% is burned, and the remaining 81.4% is disposed of by other methods (such as controlled landfill or haphazard throwaway
The effect of body and udder measurements on milk lactose innative goat
This research was conducted in order to learn the effects of body and udder measurements on milk lactose levels. As a result of analysis of correlation is seen a negative effect of the udder circumference on the lactose content of the milk (r=-0.386; p=0.039).Withers height, which is one of the body measurements, was also positively affected on milk lactose (r=0.426; p=0.021). According to the result of the research, high udder circumference and low withers height is seen as an advantage in order to obtain low lactose-containing milk against lactose into lerance
