In this study, we propose a system that uses two cars driving game for road rage simulation, uses pulse data as an index for stress evaluation, and blows the wind on the face when the pulse rate rises during driving in an urban area. In order to analyze how applying wind when the pulse rate rises affects the subject on the agitated side, we conducted three types of experiments when using this system in road rage, when it was not exposed to the wind in road rage, and when it was not driven by the fanning itself. For the experiments, we used a car driving game application and a controller with steering wheel, gas pedal, and brake. As a result of the experiment, the following was found. (1) Since an increase in pulse rate (resting +10beats/min) occurred on average 10.4 seconds after the start of the disturbance when the subject was stressed by agitated driving, and the subject also felt that his pulse rate had increased, it is presumed that setting this threshold (resting +10beats/min) is appropriate in terms of dealing with the increased pulse rate. (2) When wind was applied between +10beats/min to +30beats/min of the resting pulse rate after the stimulus onset of agitated driving, the pulse rate was significantly lower than when no wind was applied. There was also a significant difference when comparing all times of pulse rate increase (from +10beats/min at rest to +30beats/min), with a quick return to the original pulse rate

Extraction of Chondroitin Sulfate from Oncorhynchus and its Analysis

    No full text
In the present study, chondroitin sulfate was extracted from the nasal cartilage of Oncorhynchus mykiss. Chondroitin sulfate derived from Oncorhynchus mykiss had a molecular weight of approximately 150,000. The structural component of chondroitin sulfate, glucuronic acid moiety was not sulfated, and the 4-O-and 6-O-positions of N - acetylgalactosamine were sulfated, and the ratio of sulfation was higher in the 6-O-position

“Fragments of Far-Off Melodies” : Wordsworth and the Reassessment of Ossian

    No full text
In 1827, Wordsworth published “Written in a Blank Leaf of Macphersonʼs Ossian,” and referred to the controversy over its authenticity. In this poem, he emphasizes the value of “ancient” fragmental pieces of Ossian, by naming famous classical poets like Orpheus and Musaeus, whose works had been lost. Until recently, it had been unjustly ignored as one of his later poems. However, we must consider that the poem was composed during the period of his translation of Virgilʼs Aeneid in 1823-24.Actually, it refers to “Musaeus” in Aeneid. As Tim Fulford acutely points out, it is “one of the finest” poems because it shows the links of his translation and his own works. Wordsworth directly calls to “the Spirit of Ossian,” the narrator himself, instead of its “translator,” James Macpherson. This paper aims to examine Wordsworthʼs elaborate work as a poet and translator by analyzing the poem
