Popularization of Making Music with Programming Software in Elementary School Music Lesson

Formation and Expression of the Ethnicity of Korean Residents in Japan : Possibilities and Limitations of Concentrated Dwelling Areas
The objective of this study is to reveal the relationship between concentrated dwelling areas of Zainichi (Korean residents in Japan) and the expression of their ethnicity, as well as the relationship between the formation and expression of ethnicity. A survey was conducted among seven male and female subjects living in concentrated dwelling areas in Osaka city and other areas of Osaka in the form of semi-structured interviews. As a result, three patterns of expression of ethnicity were identified: (1) a robust network based on family resources, (2) a robust network built up by individuals, and (3) a moderate network based on regionality. In pattern (1), an ethnic network is formed based on a family's social capital that is succeeded and preserved and ethnicity is expressed through the network. In pattern (2), ethnicity is expressed as a positive identity and is acquired through the process of forming an ethnic network triggered by close people, starting from a negative identity. In pattern (3), ethnicity is expressed to a limited extent on a moderate network formed in a school (ethnic class) of their own children and/or concentrated dwelling areas. Particularly in patterns (1) and (2), it was revealed that ethnicity is formed through experiences at ethnic schools and participation in ethnic associations and this has been a primary condition for the expression of ethnicity. It was also suggested that such expression can be inhibited or promoted depending on memories of experiences of being discriminated against and situations (e.g., social contexts including those inside or outside of Korean residents' community)
