Astronomy Day in Schools project : Feedback from participating students and teachers
Full text linkAstronomy Day in Schoolsは、国際天文学連合の小作業部会が運営する、天文教育の実践を世界的に共有することを目的とした国際プロジェクトである。2021年の春分の時期より、二至二分の時期に合わせ、四半期ごとにオンライン交流会が開催され、多くの国の生徒や学校教員が参加し、実践の紹介や教材の共有を行ってきた。このプロジェクトは、この活動を通して、生徒や学校教員の天文分野への関心が高まること、国際理解が深まること、そして学校教員が授業に自信を持てるようになることを目標にしている。この目標がどのように達成されたかを、オンライン交流会の参加者からのアンケートへの回答に基づいて吟味した。その結果、一定の成果は見られたものの、国を超えた生徒や学校間の交流がまだ不十分であること、共有した教材を整理する多言語対応のオンライン教材庫がまだ十分でないという問題が見えてきた。前者の問題に対し、オンラインでの分科会室の活用やニュースレターの発行、録画の活用といった提案がなされた。後者の問題に対し、多言語対応の教材庫の整備で対応するべきだろうという提案がなされた。Astronomy Day in Schools is an international project run by a sub working group within the International Astronomical Union that aims at sharing astronomical education practices worldwide. Starting in the March equinox of 2021, the quarterly online meetings on the occasions of equinoxes and solstices have been held, and students and teachers from many countries have participated, introduced their practices, and shared educational materials. The goal of this project is to increase the interest of students and teachers in the field of astronomy and the international understanding, and to help teachers improve confidence in their classroom activities through this activity. I examined how this goal was achieved based on the responses to a questionnaire from the participants of the online program. The results showed some success, however, indicated as well that there is still a lack of interaction among students and schools crossing over countries, and that the online education materials repository, which organizes the shared materials with multiple languages, is not yet sufficient

Full text linkMilitary postal archives, despite having various issues, have played an important role in the study of military history within the research of modern Japanese history. However, letters sent from the home country to the battlefield are scarce, and research on them has not progressed significantly. This paper examines this issue. As a result, it was found that the problems such as the content of military mail being one-sided due to censorship and the stereotypical nature of comfort letters do not necessarily apply to the archives in question
La política secreta del Cabildo Abierto : sobre las luchas internas en el partido militar uruguayo
Full text linkEn las elecciones nacionales de 2019, Cabildo Abierto, liderado por el excomandante militar Guido Manini Ríos, apareció como un cometa en la derecha, que había sido un espacio en blanco en la política uruguaya, obteniendo el 11% de los votos y convirtiéndose en el voto de calidad del partido. Gobierno de coalición. Lo sostuve. Cinco años después, en 2024, Uruguay volvió a entrar en el año de las elecciones nacionales. Sin embargo, en los últimos cinco años, la gestión unipersonal del partido de Guido Manini Ríos y las ganancias de su esposa, la Ministra de Vivienda, Irena Moreira, pueden haber provocado desilusión dentro y fuera del partido, con un apoyo reducido a la mitad y un número de personas que abandonaron el partido. ‘estoy aquí. Además, un condenado en Chile por violaciones a los derechos humanos ha iniciado una nueva facción dentro del partido, ganando peso. Full text linkThis travel writing piece explores the relationship between tourism and local life in the southern foothills of the Central Pyrenees, based on the author’s field visit in November 2024. The region offers a compelling example of "quiet tourism", where rich cultural heritage and natural landscapes coexist. In the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, located in the province of Huesca, Aragon, efforts to balance environmental conservation with sustainable tourism are clearly visible. Nearby small villages illustrate various forms of local revitalization through tourism, including the preservation and adaptive reuse of historical buildings, as well as the rejuvenation of depopulated settlements through cultural tourism. The piece shares impressions of how tourism and everyday life seem to coexist in this rural mountain region, suggesting thoughtful ways to engage with place through travel
