    In-Situ Superconductor Temperature Sensor for Cryogenic Integrated Circuits

    Tekci, Nazif Orhun/0009-0004-6228-1271Cryogenic circuits, such as those based on single flux quantum (SFQ) logic, function at extremely low temperatures. Therefore, the designs target the utilization of liquid helium (LHe) temperatures, maintaining them at 4.2 K. These specialized circuits can be subjected to measurement either within liquid helium (LHe) baths or enclosed within closed-cycle cryocoolers. However, when utilizing LHe in cryocooler systems, inherent weak thermal contact can lead to temperature gradients between the circuit chip and the cold head, where conventional temperature sensors are typically placed. To address this challenge, this study introduces an innovative on-chip temperature sensing approach that capitalizes on the temperature dependence of the Josephson junction's (JJ) critical current (IC ). The relationship between JJ's I C and temperature (IC vs. T) is meticulously derived and calibrated within the cryocooler system. Subsequently, this I C vs. T profile is mathematically fitted to a polynomial function and integrated into an embedded microcontroller. This microcontroller facilitates the supply and measurement of bias currents and voltages, effectively establishing an autonomous temperature monitoring system. Implementing this sensor mitigates temperature disparities on the chip's surface compared to the intended target temperature and eradicates measurement errors that might arise due to such discrepancies

    Özel Yapılandırılmış Matrisler ve Bazı Cebirsel Özellikleri

    In this thesis, some specially structured combinatorial matrix families have been examined. The entries of these matrices are defined as q-versions of generalized Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. Some algebraic properties of these new matrices (algebraic properties such as determinant, eigenvalue, inverse, LU decomposition, decomposition of inverse matrices, etc.) have been obtained. Classical proof methods were used to prove the obtained results.Bu tezde, özel yapılandırılmış bazı kombinatoryal matris aileleri incelenmiştir. Bu matrislerin girdileri genelleştirilmiş Fibonacci ve Lucas sayılarının q-versiyonları olarak tanımlanmıştır. Bu yeni matrislerin bazı cebirsel özellikleri (determinant, özdeğer, ters, LU ayrışım, ters matrislerin ayrışımları vb. cebirsel özelliklerini) elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçları ispatlamak için klasik ispat yöntemleri kullanılmıştır

Yaz Yarışması Oftalmolojide Teknolojik Gelişmeler 20-22 Eylül 2024 Prof. Dr. Günay Haznedaroğlu AnısınaGİRİŞ VE AMAÇ:Çalışmamızın amacı Cretan plus protokolü (transepitelyal fotorefraktif keratektomi [t-PTK] sonrası korneal çapraz bağlama [CXL] ve konvansiyonel fotorefraktif keratektomi [PRK]), uygulanan keratokonus hastalarında, cerrahi sonrası korneal aberasyon ve optik kalite değişimini değerlendirmektir. YÖNTEM:Cretan plus protokolü uygulanan 16 keratokonus hastasının 20 gözü çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastaların preoperatif, postoperatif 1., 6. ve 12. ay refraktif, topografik, ve optik kalite verileri Sirius topografi (CSO, Italy) cihazı ile değerlendirildi. Tüm hastaların aberasyon profili (yüksek sıralı aberasyonlar (HOA), vertikal koma, horizontal koma, vertikal trefoil, oblik trefoil ve sferik aberasyon) ile vertikal ve horizontal modülasyon transfer fonksiyonu (MTF) ve nokta dağılım fonksiyonu (PSF) şeklinde optik kalite parametreleri karşılaştırıldı. BULGULAR:Amsler-Krumeich keratokonus sınıflamasına göre, 6 (%31.2) göz evre I, 14 (%68.7) göz ise evre II keratokonus idi. Ortalama Kmax değeri ameliyat öncesi 51.16 ± 1.90 D’dan ameliyat sonrası 1. yıl 47.06 ± 1.68 D’e düştü (P0.001). Ortalama düzeltilmemiş ve düzeltilmiş uzak görme keskinliği, korneal astigmatizma ve manifest sferik ekivalanda 1. yılda anlamlı azalma gözlendi (P0.001). Ayrıca, Cretan plus protokolü uygulaması sonrası 1. Yılda HOA, vertikal koma ve sferik aberasyon değerlerinde anlamlı bir azalma görüldü (P0.05). Tüm 1. yıl optik kalite değerlerinde artış gözlemlenmesine rağmen, sadece MTF 5, MTF 10 ve PSF değerlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artış izlendi (P0.05). TARTIŞMA VE SONUÇ:Çalışmamızda Cretan plus protokolü ile keratokonus hastalarında 1. yılda refraktif ve topografik anlamlı değişiklikler yanısıra korneal aberasyonlarda azalma ve optik performansda artma gösterilmektedir

    A Multi-Objective Perspective To Satellite Design and Reliability Optimization

    Development of a communication satellite project is highly complicated and expensive which costs a few hundred million dollars depending on the mission in space. Once a satellite is launched into orbit, it has to operate in harsh environmental conditions including radiation, solar activity, meteorites, and extreme weather patterns. Since there is no possibility of physical maintenance intervention in space, reliability is a critical attribute for all space and satellite projects. Therefore, the redundancy philosophy and reliability measures are taken into account in the design phase of a satellite to prevent the loss of functionality in case of a failure in orbit. This study aims to optimize the payload design of a communication satellite by considering the system's reliability, power consumption and cost simultaneously. Since these objectives are conflicting in their nature, a multi-objective optimization approach is proposed. We offer a systematic approach to the satellite design by determining the best redundancy strategy considering contradictory objectives and onboard constraints in the multibillion-dollar satellite industry. The proposed approach promotes trade-offs and sensitivity analyses between cost, power consumption and system reliability in the early design phase of satellites using Compromise Programming. By using different sets of weights for the objectives in our model, it is possible to address different types of satellites depending on their mission and priorities. Because of the NP-Hard characteristics of the reliability optimization problem and the nonlinear equation in the proposed model, the Simulated Annealing algorithm is utilized to solve the problem. As a case analysis, the implementation is carried out on the design of a communication satellite system with active hot-standby and warm-standby onboard redundancy schemes. Results reveal that huge savings in million dollars can be attained as a result of approximately 5% reduction in reliability. © 2024 Elsevier Lt

    Search for Pair Production of Squarks or Gluinos Decaying Via Sleptons or Weak Bosons in Final States With Two Same-Sign or Three Leptons With the Atlas Detector

    A search for pair production of squarks or gluinos decaying via sleptons or weak bosons is reported. The search targets a final state with exactly two leptons with same-sign electric charge or at least three leptons without any charge requirement. The analysed data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Multiple signal regions are defined, targeting several SUSY simplified models yielding the desired final states. A single control region is used to constrain the normalisation of the WZ + jets background. No significant excess of events over the Standard Model expectation is observed. The results are interpreted in the context of several supersymmetric models featuring R-parity conservation or R-parity violation, yielding exclusion limits surpassing those from previous searches.     Effects on Wavefront Aberration After Short-Term Wear of Senofilcon a Photochromic Contact Lens

    BACKGROUND: To assess the variability in wavefront aberrations with short-term wear of photochromic senofilcon A contact lenses in both its activated and inactive states. METHODS AND MATERIAL: In this cross-sectional study, 20 participants who had previously used soft contact lenses were enrolled. Corneal aberrometry measurements were performed on each subject, without contact lenses, using Sirius Scheimpflug-Placido topography. The photochromic lenses were illuminated using a blue-violet light (λmax = 420 nm) so as to provoke an activated state, and measurements were taken with the lenses inserted, in both states. The root mean square (RMS) of the aberrations was calculated, and the higher- and lower-order aberrations, astigmatism, coma, spherical aberration, and trefoil measurements were evaluated using a 5.0-mm pupil diameter. RESULTS: The average contact lens sphere power was - 2.33 ± 1.07 D. The mean refractive errors with contact lens wear were 0.07 ± 0.18 D for the sphere and - 0.26 ± 0.15 D for the cylinder. The mean RMS values for all the corneal aberrations showed no statistically significant differences with and without contact lenses (p > 0.05). In a bivariate correlation analysis, there was a positive correlation between contact lens sphere power and coma (vertical and horizontal) in the activated state (r = 0.455, p = 0.44 and r = 0.495, p = 0.27, respectively). CONCLUSION: The photochromic contact lenses did not influence ocular aberration during short-term wear, even when the photochromatic additive was activated. This property may help to provide more comfortable vision with lens wear. This finding needs to be verified by further studies. Thieme. METHODEN: 20 Teilnehmer, die zuvor weiche Kontaktlinsen getragen hatten, nahmen an dieser Querschnittsstudie teil. Die aberrometrischen Messungen der Hornhaut wurden bei jedem Probanden ohne Kontaktlinsen mit der Sirius Scheimpflug-Placido-Topografie durchgeführt. Die photochromen Linsen wurden mit blauviolettem Licht (λmax = 420 nm) beleuchtet, um einen aktivierten Zustand zu erzeugen, und die Messungen wurden mit den Linsen in beiden Zuständen durchgeführt. Der RMS (root mean square) der Aberrationen wurde berechnet und die Aberrationen höherer und niedrigerer Ordnung, Astigmatismus, Koma, sphärische Aberration und Trefoil-Messungen wurden mit einem Pupillendurchmesser von 5,0 mm ausgewertet.     Literatürde, çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları ve bireylerin kendi ebeveynliklerine yönelik algıladıkları öz yeterlikleri arasında bir ilişki olduğu ve çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları deneyimlemiş bireylerin ebeveyn öz yeterliklerinin düşük olduğu belirtilmektedir. Çalışmalarda bu ilişki farklı değişkenlerin de etkisi ile incelenmiştir. Ancak hem yetişkin bağlanma stillerinin hem de ülkemizde yeni yeni çalışılmaya başlanan stresle çift olarak baş etmenin seri aracı rollerinin incelendiği bir çalışmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu tez çalışmasının amacı çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları ve algılanan ebeveyn öz yeterliği arasındaki ilişkide güvensiz bağlanma (kaygılı ve kaçıngan) ve stresle çift olarak baş etmenin seri aracı rollerini incelemektir. Çalışma 117 kişi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada ebeveyn yaşı kontrol değişkeni olarak ele alınmıştır. Korelasyon ve seri aracı değişken analizleri sonrası, güvensiz bağlanma (kaygılı ve kaçıngan) ve stresle çift olarak baş etmenin, çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları ve ebeveyn öz yeterliği arasındaki ilişkide seri aracı rollerinin olmadığı bulunmuştur. Ek olarak, çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları ve ebeveyn öz yeterliği arasındaki ilişkide kaçıngan bağlanmanın aracı rolü olduğu bulunmuştur. Tez çalışmasının sonuçları literatürden ulaşılan bilgiler çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve çalışmanın literatüre katkısı ve sınırlılıkları incelenmiş, gelecek çalışmalar için önerilere ve klinik doğurgulara yer verilmiştir.According to previous studies, it is known that there is a relationship between adverse childhood experiences and parental self-efficacy. Individuals who have experienced adverse childhood experiences have low parental self-efficacy. In studies, this relationship has been studied by examining the effects of various variables. However, no study has been found to investigate the serial mediating roles of both adult attachment styles and dyadic coping, which has just begun to be studied in our country. This thesis study aimes to examine the serial mediating roles of insecure attachment (anxiety and avoidant) and dyadic coping in the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and parental self-efficacy. The study was conducted with 117 people. In the study, parental age was considered as a control variable. After correlation and serial mediator analysis, it was found that insecure attachment (anxious and avoidant) and dyadic coping did not have serial mediator roles in the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and parental self-efficacy. In addition, avoidant attachment was found to have a mediating role in the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and parental self-efficacy. The results were discussed in the light the literature, the contribution and limitations of the study to the literature were discussed, and suggestions and clinical implications for future studies were included
