Leer/escribir Canadá: un muro de Facebook dedicado a literatura canadiense
Get PDFLa misión de la CBC (Corporación Canadiense de Radiodifusión) la define como una empresa dedicada a la producción, cuidado y distribución de contenidos canadienses, cuya visión es conectar a los canadienses a través de contenidos relevantes elaborados en Canadá, y además tiene entre sus valores la vocación de servicio al público de ese país. Este artículo intenta responder varias preguntas: en primer lugar, cómo utiliza la CBC las redes sociales para difundir las literaturas nacionales. Se utiliza como caso de estudio un muro de Facebook llamado Canada Reads, y se hace un análisis basado en el método de las pequeñas historias (Georgakoupoulou) para examinar las actividades narrativas relevantes para reconocer el trabajo de forja de identidad de los narradores. También se analiza el tejido social de las prácticas en que se involucra las personas, con el propósito de descubrir si se ha creado una comunidad virtual de práctica (en el sentido de la elaboración de Robert V. Kozinets). Por último, se estudia si se ha logrado el objetivo de establecer un debate sobre las identidades canadienses contemporáneas y si se ha cumplido el propósito de la CBS en cuanto a difundir contenidos contemporáneos regionales y nacionales de calidad.The CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) operates on a mandate that defines it as a company of content whose vision is to connect Canadians through attractive Canadian content and whose values include serving the Canadian public. This article responds to the questions of how the CBC uses social media to disseminate national literatures, taking a Facebook wall, Canada Reads, as a case study, based on the small stories method (Georgakopoulou). This method is useful to analyze narrative activities that are important for recognizing the identity-forging work of their narrator as well as the social fabric of practices that people become involved in, with the objective of discovering if it has created a virtual community of practice (as conceived by Robert V. Kozinets). It also analyzes whether it has also achieved the ultimate goal of discussing contemporary Canadian identities and fulfilled its aim to disseminate quality contemporary regional and national content.How can social media be used to disseminate national literatures? How can read-ing them be promoted and the publishing industry, both national and local publishing houses, be strengthened? How can literature become the focus of a broad spectrum of people? How can a conversation be started about what it means to write, publish, and read? This article responds to these questions, taking a Facebook wall administered by an Anglo-Canadian institution as a case study, based on the small stories method that I will use to analyze narrative activities that are important for recognizing the identi-ty-forging work of their narrator as well as the social fabric of practices that people become involved in. The objective is to discover if it has created a virtual community of practice and if it has achieved, at the same time, the ultimate goal of discussing contemporary Canadian identities. Using the concept of virtual communities, as con-ceived by Robert V. Kozinets, and José M. Tomasena's approach to dissemination of books through cyberspace, I will prove that, by promoting both reading and writing in social networks, the cbc has fulfilled its aim of not only creating virtual communi-ties of practice but has also disseminated contemporary regional and national quality content. People interact on Facebook walls with different aims. To discover how the walls can be used as tools for disseminating literature, I did a Facebook (Fb) search of groups whose interest lay in Canadian literatures (p. 96)

Get PDFEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar el retorno de personas mexicanas de Estados Unidos a la Ciudad de México, desde el encuentro con las instituciones del Estado en las búsquedas por acceder a derechos de ciudadanía. Con una metodología cualitativa, basada en treinta y tres entrevistas de corte biográfico, el resultado del análisis muestra que dicho encuentro en la ciudad y el reconocimiento de la ciudadanía como mexicanos se materializa con el proceso de recuperación de documentos de identidad y se sitúa en las primeras búsquedas de apoyo de programas sociales de gobierno, los cuales, al depender de las coyunturas políticas locales, mantendrán en una ambigua visibilización/invisibilización la condición del retorno.This article analyzes Mexican returnees to Mexico City and their dealings with government institutions to accede to citizen's rights. Using a qualitative method based on thirty-three biographical interviews, the results show that this process materializes in the recovery of identity documents. It is situated in the first requests for support from government social programs, which, since they depend on local political moments, will ambiguously both make visible and invisible the conditions of the return.El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la relación con el Estado mexicano, a partir de las principales búsquedas por acceder a derechos y servicios sociales, en los procesos de retorno de personas mexicanas desde Estados Unidos en un contexto urbano no fronterizo como es la CdMx.
