as in the battle against prejudice, stereotypes and stigma that the users of this plant have suffered in
over more than a century. This is an extremely important step in both dimensions, but it is not free
of contradictions.
Based on the analysis of its legalization process in Canada, which the author complements with a
case study about Canopy Growth, a paradigmatic corporation in the history of its legal production
and distribution in that country, the author describes not only the obstacles that they faced but also
inserts us in the narratives from different groups of interest that participated in its consolidation,
some with good intentions, although many others with purely commercial purposes. Among the
inconsistencies this work reveals, we can notice how a battle that first started as a collective effort
to decriminalize those who consumed cannabis, not only with medical ends but also with
recreational intentions and even as a form of living, became fertile ground for transnational
companies.La legalización de la cannabis marcó un parteaguas en el desarrollo de una industria cada día más floreciente, por un lado, y en el combate a los prejuicios, estereotipos y estigmas que los usuarios de esta planta han padecido durante más de un siglo. Se trata de un paso sumamente importante en ambas dimensiones, pero que no está exento de contradicciones. A partir del análisis de su proceso de legalización en Canadá, que complementa con un estudio de caso sobre Canopy Growth, una corporación paradigmática en la historia de su producción y distribución legales en ese país, el autor nos describe los obstáculos que se enfrentaron al mismo tiempo que nos introduce en las narrativas de los diversos grupos de interés que participaron en su consolidación, a veces con buenas intenciones, aunque muchas otras con fines meramente comerciales Entre las incongruencias que la obra revela, podemos observar cómo una lucha que en un inicio se planteó como un esfuerzo colectivo para descriminalizar a quienes consumían cannabis no sólo con fines medicinales, sino también con intenciones recreativas e incluso como forma de vida, se convirtió también en terreno fértil para las compañías transnacionales.Este libro tiene un interés particular en explorar la dinámica laboral en la industria cannábica a partir del paradigma de la responsabilidad social, poniendo varias preguntas de investigación sobre la mesa, sobre todo aquéllas relacionadas con las prácticas al interior de la corporación Canopy Growth, nuestro caso de estudio

Mexico's Automobile Sector and the North American Region. Results and Perspectives of the Greater Integration Negotiated in the USMCA
Get PDFA casi dos años de la entrada en vigencia del Tratado México, Estados Unidos y Canadá (T-MEC), se presenta un análisis del sector automotriz mexicano, así como de las condiciones que caracterizan su integración con la región de América del Norte. En principio, se realizó un estudio de los elementos básicos que explican la evolución del sector automotriz instalado en México, cuyos antecedentes se remontan a casi un siglo de historia; de manera posterior, se evalúan las condiciones que dieron origen a la renegociación del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN), proceso que culminó con la firma del T-MEC. Se incorporó una explicación sobre las disposiciones relativas a la determinación del origen regional de los vehículos fabricados en América del Norte, para concluir con la enunciación de resultados y perspectivas para el sector.Almost two years after the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) came into effect, the authors present an analysis of Mexico's auto industry as well as the conditions of its integration into the North American region. First, they study the basic elements that explain the evolution of the industry, whose origins can be found in almost a century of history. Then, they evaluate the conditions that gave rise to the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), a process that culminated in the signing of the USMCA. Este inédito escenario político plantea la necesidad de producir estudios sobre política pública que analicen estrategias para prevenir, atender y reparar el DFI.
