Dataset for Manuscript "Ultrafast imaging of laser-induced modifications in planar targets via single-shot in-line holography": [research data]

    Get PDF
We present a holographic single-shot coherent diffractive imaging method based on in-line holography that allows the ultrafast characterization of 2D transmission maps of semi-transparent planar targets such as foils in amplitude and phase. Holographic information is obtained from the interference of the transmitted primary beam with the fields scattered from the modified or unknown target regions. A specialized iterative phase retrieval is used to incorporate the holographic nature of the approach and to accelerate and improve convergence. The published data contain all data shown in the figures of the paper "Ultrafast imaging of laser-induced modifications in planar targets via single-shot in-line holography"

Simultaneous direct optimal control: a versatile approach for steering quantum molecular dynamics

    Get PDF
Controlling molecular processes by shaped laser pulses is a long-standing goal in Molecular Physics and Chemistry. Here, we suggest a direct optimal control approach based on a simultaneous simulation and optimization paradigm. This approach uses automatic differentiation, offering as advantages final time and model parameter optimization, as well as a wide range of terms in the performance functional and constraints that could be easily implemented in a plug-and-play fashion. The advantages of this approach will be showcased for diverse molecular model systems

Aggregate Data on Gender Equity in the Film Industry in 34 Eurimages Countries (2010-2020): [research data]

The table provides an overview of the descriptive data of the international research project "Gender Equity Policy Analysis: Assessing, Understanding, and Modeling the Impact of Gender Equity Policies (GEP) in the Film Industry". For the period 2010-2020 (for Germany, the UK and Canada: 2005-2020), 12,107 films from 34 Eurimages countries were analyzed with regard to gender distribution in the three positions of directing, screenwriting and producing

o-Polynomials and Explicit Formula for o-Monomials

    Get PDF
Hyperovals in finite Desarguesian planes of even order q are sets of q+2 points, of which no three are collinear. By association with o-polynomials over binary finite fields, they can be studied algebraically. In this thesis o-polynomials and an equivalence relation based on the equivalence under collineations of the plane are investigated. A second topic is the connection to 2-to-1 polynomials, where explicit formulas for the known o-monomials allow the construction of 2-to-1 binomials. Finally, some generalizations to fields of odd characteristic are made as well

Irreducible polynomials over finite fields for coding and cryptography

    Get PDF
We present a closed explicit formula for all generating polynomials of a very popular set of codes - the constacyclic codes over finite fields. This problem is equivalent to the factorization of the polynomial X^n-a into monic irreducible factors over a finite field for all positive integers n. From our explicit formula for this factorization we also derive the factorization of the n-th cyclotomic polynomial and of any composition of the form f(X^n) where f is an irreducible polynomial. Additionally, we present a construction of a large set of irreducible polynomials of the same degree.

Development of green routes and catalysts for CO2 valorization: synthesis of cyclic carbonates, N-methylamines and N-formamides

    Get PDF
In this thesis, reductive and non-reductive catalytic routes for the utilization and valorization of CO2 and other renewable resources are investigated. The focus is on the development of sustainable catalytic systems based on earth abundant metals, organocatalysts and enzymes, that can operate under mild conditions.
