    Synthesis of novel aryl-substituted coumarin and quinoline derivatives with potential cytostatic activity

    Cilj ovog rada je sinteza novih aril-supstituiranih derivata kumarina i kinolina (5c−e, 6a−e, 7e, 8, 9) te njihovih Re(I)- (5d-Re, 8-Re, 10-Re) i Ru(II)-kompleksa (5d-Ru-fenil, 10-Ru-fenil, 5d-Ru-cim, 10-Ru-cim). Izoksazolni derivati kumarina i kinolina (5c−e, 6a−e, 7e) dobiveni su regioselektivnom 1,3-dipolarnom cikloadicijom propargiliranog kumarinskog (1) ili kinolinskog (2) derivata i odgovarajućeg kloriranog aldoksima (4a−e) uz trietilamin. Cijano-supstituirani izoksazolni derivati kinolina i kumarina (5e, 6e) prevedni su u fenilamidoksimske analoge (8, 9). Spojevi 5d i 10 korišteni su kao ligandi za metalne komplekse s renij(I) pentakarbonil-kloridom (5d-Re, 10-Re), diklor(benzen)rutenij(II) dimerom (5d-Ru-fenil, 10-Ru-fenil) i diklor(p-cimen)rutenij(II) dimerom (5d-Ru-cim, 10-Ru-cim). Strukture spojeva potvrđene su spektroskopijom 1H i 13C NMR, strukture cijano (6e) i fenilamidoksimskog (9) derivata kinolina potvrđene su spektroskopijom IR, a određivanje rendgenske strukture na monokristalu kompleksa te biološka ispitivanja novosintetiziranih spojeva (5−10, 5d-Re, 5d-Ru-fenil, 5d-Ru-cim, 10-Re, 10-Ru-fenil, 10-Ru-cim) su u tijeku.The aim of this work was the synthesis of new aryl-substituted coumarin and quinoline derivatives (5c−e, 6a−e, 7e, 8, 9) and their Re(I)- (5d-Re, 8-Re, 10-Re) and Ru(II)-complexes (5d-Ru-phenyl, 10-Ru-phenyl, 5d-Ru-cym, 10-Ru-cym). Isoxazole derivatives (5c−e, 6a−e, 7e) were obtained by regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of propargylated coumarin (1) or quinoline (2) derivative and corresponding chlorinated aldoximes (4a−e) with triethylamine. Cyano-substituted isoxazole derivatives (5e, 6e) were converted to their phenylamidoxime analogues (8, 9). Compounds 5d and 10 were used as ligands for metal complexes with rhenium(I) pentacarbonyl chloride (5d-Re, 10-Re), dichloro(benzene)ruthenium(II) dimer (5d-Ru-phenyl, 10-Ru-phenyl) and dichloro(p-cymene)ruthenium(II) dimer (5d-Ru-cym, 10-Ru-cym). The structures of all compounds have been confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, the structures of cyano (6e) and phenylamidoxime (9) quinoline derivatives are characterized by IR spectroscopy, while structure determination by X-ray diffraction on single crystals of complexes and biological evaluations of newly synthesized compounds (5-10, 5d-Re, 5d-Ru-phenyl, 5d-Ru-cym, 10-Re, 10-Ru-phenyl, 10-Ru-cym) are in progress

    Vodstvo je ključni čimbenik uspjeha u svakoj suvremenoj organizaciji, zato je bitno za svaku organizaciju uskladiti vodstvo s radnom angažiranošću kako bi se što efikasnije obavljali poslovni zadaci i ostvarivali zadani ciljevi. Zaposlenici predstavljaju jednu od glavnih konkurentskih prednosti svake organizacije te je temeljni zadatak uspješnih vođa ostvariti puni potencijal svakog pojedinog člana tima. U ovom diplomskom radu istražuje se povezanost stilova vodstva i radne angažiranosti zaposlenika. U prvom dijelu objašnjava se pojam vodstva, navode se značajke uspješnih vođa te se definiraju karakteristike određenih stilova vodstva. U drugom dijelu se objašnjava radna angažiranost, na koji način mjerimo radnu angažiranost zaposlenika i objašnjava se važnost stilova vodstva za radnu angažiranost zaposlenika. U empirijskom dijelu istraživanja, podaci su prikupljeni kroz upotrebu anketnog obrasca koji je bio dobrovoljan, osiguravao je anonimnost sudionika te je bio distribuiran unutar odabranih organizacija. Pomoću njih se definirao smjer i jačina korelacije dimenzije stila vodstva i dimenzije radne angažiranosti. Uz pomoć R Studio programa napravljena je korelacijska analiza i ustanovljeni su rezultati istraživanja. Istraživanje dalo rezultat kako ima pozitivna veza dimenzije stilova vodstva i dimenzije radne angažiranosti zaposlenika, a od stilova vodstva se najviše izdvojio transformacijski stil s najvećom prosječnom ocjenom te sukladno tome transformacijski stil vodstva najbolje angažira zaposlenike u logističkoj industriji.Leadership is a crucial factor for success in contemporary organizations, emphasizing the need for coordination between leadership and employee engagement to achieve business aims. Employees represent a primary competitive advantage for any organization, and the fundamental task of successful leaders is to unlock the full potential of each team member. This thesis examines the relationship among leadership styles and employee work engagement. In the first part of the thesis, the definition and significance of leadership are explained, highlighting characteristics of successful leaders, and defining specific leadership styles. The thesis additionally delineates the concept of work engagement, clarifies the methods for measuring work engagement, and expounds on the relevance of leadership styles to employee engagement. In the empirical part, data is collected through an anonymous, voluntary questionnaire distributed within selected organizations. The research investigated the direction and intensity of the correlation among the dimensions of the questionnaire of leadership styles and employee work engagement. This research results offered us understanding into the connection between the two variables, and based on the compiled data, a descriptive statistical analysis and correlation table studies were carried out. The correlation analysis was performed using the R Studio program. The study showed a positive correlation between the leadership styles and employee work engagement, and also the highest correlation between transformational leadership and employee engagement

    Distribution of the Dinaric cave tube worm (Marifugia cavatica) and growth monitoring of the selected population

    Dinarsko krško podzemlje prepoznato je kao vruća točka bioraznolikosti podzemne faune. Dinarski špiljski cjevaš (Marifugia cavatica) jedini je poznati podzemni predstavnik porodice cjevaša (Serpulidae, Polycahaeta) do sada zabilježen u svijetu, a nastanjuje podzemne vode dinaridskog krša. Vrsta je prema Crvenoj knjizi špiljske faune Hrvatske kategorizirana kao nedovoljno poznata svojta (DD; engl. Data Deficient). Status vrste ukazuje na potrebu za daljnjim istraživanjem, stoga su ciljevi ovog rada usmjereni na pružanje doprinosa o razumijevanju i proširivanju znanja o dinarskom špiljskom cjevašu i njegovoj rasprostranjenosti. Provedena analiza fizikalno-kemijskih parametra vode na odabranim lokalitetima ukazuje na staništa bez prisutnosti onečišćenja. Usporedbom višegodišnjih fotografija jedinki populacije dinarskog špiljskog cjevaša s istovjetnih ploha iz Jame nasuprot Torka dao se uvid u godišnji prirast cjevaša. Korištena metodologija usporedbe prirasta ima potencijal primjene za dugoročno praćenje stanja (monitoring) dinarskog špiljskog cjevaša. Dodatno, u radu je prikazan popis rasprostranjenosti vrste na području Dinarida. Vrsta je zabilježena na 159 lokaliteta. U njih 68 potvrđeno je da se radi o živoj populaciji, u 4 lokaliteta zabilježene su fosilne cjevčice, u 16 fragmenti cjevčica, dok je za 71 lokalitet potrebno utvrditi radi li se o živim ili uginulim jedinkama.The Dinaric karst underground is recognized as a biodiversity hot spot of subterranean fauna. Dinaric cave tube worm (Marifugia cavatica) is the only known subterranean representative of the serpulid family (Serpulidae, Polycahaeta) worldwide. It inhabits the underground waters of the Dinaric region. According to the Red Book of Cave Fauna of Croatia, the species is categorized as Data Deficient. The status of the species indicates the need for further research. Therefore, the goals of this work aim to contribute to the understanding of the M. cavatica and its distribution. The analysis of the physico-chemical parameters of the water at the selected localities indicates favourable habitats without the presence of pollution. An examination of multi-year photographs of individuals within the population of Dinaric cave tube worms taken from identical locations in Jama nasuprot Torka provided valuable insights into the growth patterns of M. cavatica per year. This methodology has the potential for long-term monitoring of the state of M. cavatica. Additionally, this research compiles a distribution list, documenting the species in 159 localities. Of these, 68 confirmed living populations, 4 show fossil tubes, 16 tube fragments, and 71 localities require further investigation to determine whether the individuals are living or dead

    U ovom radu opisana je visokotemperaturna korozija te je dan uvid u zaštitu od korozije korištenjem visokotemperaturnih premaza te je opisano zaštitno djelovanje premaza te vrste veziva u premazu. Visokotemperaturni premazi imaju ključnu ulogu u zaštiti površina izloženih ekstremnim temperaturama, koroziji i drugim okolišnim utjecajima. Ovakvi premazi bi trebali izdržati dugotrajno izlaganje visokim radnim temperaturama bez pojave oštećenja, održavaju barijerni integritet kako bi se spriječio kontakt podloge s vlagom i ostalim korozivnim tvarima, sadrže postojane pigmente koji nisu osjetljivi na toplinu i prianjaju na podlogu bez ljuštenja. Visokotemperaturni premazi sastoje se od organskih ili anorganskih materijala, a obično su izrađeni od silikonskih smola i pigmenata koji ostaju stabilni čak i kod izlaganja ekstremnoj toplini. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada ispitane su četiri vrste visokotemperaturnih premaza u slanoj i vlažnoj komori te su uzorci izloženi visokim temperaturama kako bi se vidjelo njihovo ponašanje pri visokim temperaturama. Također je provedeno mjerenje otpora premaza pomoću elektrokemijske impedancijske spektroskopije.This paper describes high-temperature corrosion and provides insight into corrosion protection using high-temperature coatings. The protective action of coatings and the binding agent's role in the coating are explained. High-temperature coatings play a crucial role in safeguarding surfaces exposed to extreme temperatures, corrosion, and other environmental influences. These coatings should withstand prolonged exposure to high operating temperatures without damage, maintain barrier integrity to prevent substrate contact with moisture and other corrosive substances, and contain stable pigments resistant to heat while adhering to the substrate without peeling. High-temperature coatings consist of organic or inorganic materials, typically made from silicone resins and heat-stable pigments. In the experimental part of the study, four types of high-temperature coatings were tested in a salt spray and humidity chamber, and samples were exposed to high temperatures to observe their behavior under these conditions. Additionally, the resistance of the coatings was measured using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

    Load capacity analysis of cylindrical asymmetric gears

    Odabirom različitih kutova nagiba profila osnovne ozubnice dobiva se geometrija ozubljenja koju nazivamo asimetričnom. Nosivosti korijena i boka zuba nedvojbeno ovise o toj geometriji. U ovome radu opisana je osnovna geometrija vezana uz asimetrično ozubljenje, opisani su postupci proračunavanja nosivosti korijena i boka asimetričnog zuba zupčanika te je izvršena analiza nosivosti asimetričnog ozubljenja u ovisnosti o promjeni pojedinih parametara geometrije. Postupak proračunavanja nosivosti korijena asimetričnog ozubljenja preuzet je od Langheinricha koji je primjenom metode konačnih elemenata modificirao postojeću normu ISO 6336-3 te u proračun uveo nove faktore kako bi korigirao ovisnost geometrije asimetričnog zuba. Postupak proračunavanja nosivosti korijena ostaje isti te se vrši prema normi ISO 6336-2. Analiza nosivosti provedena je u programskom paketu KISSsoft te je provedena za različite kutove nagiba aktivnog boka, kutove nagiba neaktivnog boka, polumjere zaobljenja korijena osnovne ozubnice te module. Konačni rezultati analize pokazali su da se promjenom geometrije asimetričnog ozubljenja mogu postići značajne promjene u nosivosti korijena i boka, indicirajući na superiornost geometrije asimetričnog ozubljenja.By choosing the different pressure angles of a basic rack we get gearing geometry that is called asymmetrical gearing. Load capacity of a tooth root and a flank highly depend on mentioned geometry. This thesis describes the basic geometry of an asymmetric gearing, calculation of load capacity for tooth root and a flank of an asymmetric gear and an analysis of load capacity for asymmetric gearing depending on the change of given geometry parameters. Calculation of load capacity for tooth root of an asymmetric gear was taken from Langheinrich, who used finite element analysis method to modify the existing ISO 6336-3 standard by introducing new factors for correcting an influence of a pressure angle change. Calculation of flank load capacity stays the same and is calculated using the ISO 6336-2 standard. Load capacity analysis in this thesis was made using software package KISSsoft and was carried for different pressure angles on drive side, pressure angles on coast side, tooth root fillets of a basic rack and moduli. Final results of an analysis showed great changes in both load capacity of tooth flank and tooth root for different geometry settings, indicating the superiority of an asymmetric gearing

    In this thesis main terms, vehicle frame components and development of template for automated design of automobile adapter model are described. Template is written in C# programming language with use of Visual Studio and used in Catia V5 design software. Program searches through all inputs provided inside Catia V5 document and in reference to them creates surfaces for positioning of vehicle components. Surfaces are placed in certain geometrical sets that have their own standardised structure inside structure tree. All components are connected parametrically and correspond with inputs. Testing was done on few different models and shorten design process time was achieved with reduced possibility of mistake due to size of data handled. Thesis resulted with automated design template for vehicle adapter model and showed possibilities of further development of this approach and implementation in different areas.U ovom radu glavni pojmovi, dijelovi bočnog okvira karoserije automobila i razvoj predloška za automatizirani dizajn adapter modela automobila su opisani. Predložak je pisan u C# programskom jeziku korištenjem Visual Studio programa i softvera za dizajn Catia V5. Program pretražuje sve ulazne podatke dane u Catia V5 dokumentu i stvara površine za pozicioniranje dijelova vozila s ulaznim podacima kao referencom. Površine su smještene u posebne geometrijske skupove koji imaju svoju standardiziranu strukturu unutar stabla značajki. Svi dijelovi su parametarski povezani međusobno i sa ulaznim podacima. Testiranje je izvršeno na više modela i postignuta su skraćena vremena dizajniranja su postignuta sa smanjenom mogućnošću pogreške s obzirom na količinu korištenih podataka. Rad je rezultirao predloškom za automatizirani dizajn adapter modela automobila i pokazao mogućnosti budućeg razvoja ovog pristupa i primjenu u drugim područjima

    U ovom radu prikazan je razvoj numeričkog modela s ciljem analize ponašanja građevinske konstrukcije pod djelovanjem potresa. Za potrebe istraživanja uzet je u obzir značajan potresni događaj koji se desio 1979. godine u mjestu Petrovac, smještenom u Crnoj Gori. Istraživanje je usmjereno na temeljitu analizu suhozidane konstrukcije. Analitički proračuni temelje se na primjeni kombinirane metode konačno-diskretnih elemenata. Kroz provedeno istraživanje dobiveni su rezultati koji prikazuju krajnja stanja konstrukcije, uključujući fazu potpunog.This study presents the development of a numerical model aimed at analyzing the behavior of a structural construction under the influence of seismic forces. For the purpose of this research, a significant seismic event that occurred in 1979 in Petrovac, located in Montenegro, has been taken into consideration. The research is focused on an in-depth analysis of a dry-stone masonry construction. Analytical calculations are based on the application of a combined finite-discrete element method. Through the conducted research, results have been obtained that depict the ultimate states of the construction, including the phase of complete collapse

    U dinamičnom poslovnom okruženju, poduzeća se suočavaju sa sve većim brojem rizika kojima je potrebno upravljati. Kao pouzdan alat za identifikaciju i upravljanje rizicima ističe se sustav integriranog upravljanja rizicima. Cilj ovog rada je identificirati i kvantificirati ključne rizike s kojima se suočava Lufthansa Grupa, jedna od najvećih globalnih zrakoplovnih grupacija. Analiza se provodi primjenom 'top-down' pristupa, kojim se sagledava vanjsko i unutarnje okruženje Grupe. Intrinzična vrijednost poduzeća procjenjuje se metodom diskontiranih novčanih tokova, dok se utjecaj pojedinih rizika na vrijednost procjenjuje korištenjem metode rizičnih novčanih tokova. Rezultati analize pokazuju da najveću prijetnju poslovanju predstavljaju kibernetički rizik, inovacijski rizik i rizik od promjene cijena goriva. Na kraju rada predložene su mjere i strateške preporuke za upravljanje identificiranim rizicima.In a dynamic business environment, companies are exposed to an increasing number of risks that need to be managed. A reliable tool for risk identification and management is Enterprise Risk Management system. The aim of this paper is to identify and quantify the key risks faced by Lufthansa Group, one of the largest global aviation groups. The analysis is conducted using the 'top-down' approach, which examines both external and internal factors. The intrinsic value of the Group is estimated by using the Discounted Cash Flow Model, while the impact of individual risks on the value is assessed through Cash-Flow-at-Risk Model. The results of the analysis show that the greatest threats to the business are cyber-security risk, innovation risk, and fuel price volatility risk. Finally, the paper proposes measures for managing the identified risks

    Resonances in quasiperiodic many-body localised systems

    Sustavi koji izbjegavaju termalizaciju su fundamentalno zanimljivi jer na njih nije primjenjiva statistička fizika, a imaju i potencijalne primjene u kvantnim tehnologijama. Višečestična lokalizacija (eng. many-body localization, MBL) je mehanizam izbjegavanja termalizacije u kvantnim sustavima uzrokovan međuigrom interakcija između čestica i aperiodičnosti sustava. Nedavno je numerički primijećen spori rast entropije broja S_n u MBL režimu neuređenih sustava, što je suprotno očekivanju da se S_n saturira u lokaliziranom sustavu, te dovodi u pitanje stabilnost MBL-a u termodinamičkoj granici. Jedno moguće objašnjenje ovog rasta je postojanje rijetkih rezonancija koje lokalno omogućuju transport i u lokaliziranom režimu, bez da termaliziraju cijeli sustav. Cilj ovog rada je proučiti ponašanje S_n i utjecaj rezonancija na višečestičnu lokalizaciju u kvaziperiodičnim sustavima. Oslanjajući se na efektivni opis rezonancija dvodimenzionalnim Hamiltonijanom i determinističku strukturu kvaziperiodičnog potencijala, formuliran je model koji opisuje skaliranje broja rezonancija i saturacijskih vrijednosti S_n s jakosti i periodom potencijala, kao i ponašanje rezonancija u vremenu i vremensku ovisnost S_n. Na temelju modela je dana usporedba saturacijskih vrijednosti S_n u kvaziperiodičnim i nasumičnim sustavima, te kvalitativno predviđanje strukturiranog ponašanja S_n kvaziperiodičnih sustava na dugim vremenskim skalama. Analitički rezultati dobiveni pomoću efektivnog modela se slažu s numeričkim rezultatima, dobivenim egzaktnom dijagonalizacijom Hamiltonijana, u režimu jake lokalizacije. Također, numerički je pokazano da u kvaziperiodičnim sustavima dolazi do izraženije saturacije S_n u odnosu na nasumične sustave.Systems that avoid thermalization are of fundamental interest because statistical physics does not apply to them, and they also have potential applications in quantum technologies. Many-body localization (MBL) is a mechanism for avoiding thermalization in quantum systems due to the interplay between interactions and aperiodicity of the system. Recently, a slow growth of number entropy S_n was numerically observed in the MBL regime of disordered systems, which contradicts the expectation that S_n should saturate in a localized system, thereby questioning stability of MBL in the thermodynamic limit. One possible explanation for this growth is the presence of rare resonances that locally enable transport in localized regime, without thermalizing the entire system. The goal of this work is to study behavior of S_n and impact of resonances on many-body localization in quasiperiodic systems. Relying on the effective description of resonances with a two-dimensional Hamiltonian and deterministic structure of the quasiperiodic potential, a model was formulated that describes scaling of the number of resonances and saturation values of S_n with the strength and period of the potential, as well as the behavior of resonances in time and time dependence of S_n. Based on the model, a comparison of saturation values of S_n in quasiperiodic and random systems was presented, along with a qualitative prediction of the structured behavior of S_n on long time scales in quasiperiodic systems. Analytical results obtained from the effective model agree with the numerical results, which were obtained from exact diagonalization of the Hamiltonian, in the regime of strong localization. It was also numerically shown that in quasiperiodic systems, the saturation of S_n is more pronounced compared to random systems
