    Determination of constitutive and fracture parameters of PBT material reinforced by glass fibres

    U današnjem svijetu ispunjenom tehnološki naprednim i modernim vozilima, električni konektori imaju iznimno veliku ulogu pri povezivanju različitih električnih sustava. Među najpoznatijim materijalima za izradu modernih električnih konektora je polibutilen tereftalat (PBT). Jedna od glavnih prednosti mu je relativno jednostavna mogućnost ojačavanja mehaničkih svojstava ovisno o zahtjevima kupca. Varijacija PBT materijala koja će se koristiti u ovom radu je PBT ojačan s 30% staklenih vlakana (PBT-GF30). Tema ovog rada je određivanje i validiranje parametara konstitutivnog i lomnog ponašanja materijala PBT-GF30. Rad je podijeljen u šest poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju dan je kratki uvod i osvrt na temu PBT materijala te javno/internetski dostupnih mehaničkih svojstva vezana za njega. Unutar drugog poglavlja definiran je konstitutivni model ponašanja materijala. Počevši od jednostavnog linearnog elastičnog modela, zatim uzimajući u obzir elasto-plastično ponašanje i na kraju mehaniku oštećenja i loma, razvijen je konstitutivni model ponašanja konstrukcije. Tema ovog rada je ispitivanje krhkog tipa loma, koji se odvija pri malim deformacijama zbog iznimnog nagomilavanja pogrešaka u materijalu u kratkom vremenu. U trećem poglavlju opisano je eksperimentalno ispitivanje testnog uzorka, epruvete, jednoosnim statičkim vlačnim testom. Također, norma prema kojoj su izrađeni testni uzorci i DIC metoda obrade rezultata je obuhvaćena ovim poglavljem. Unutar četvrtog poglavlja materijalni model je validiran numeričkim simulacijama statičkog vlačnog testa korištenjem programskog paketa Abaqus®. Nadalje, peto poglavlje je iskorišteno za primjenu razvijenog materijalnog modela na stvarni problem/konstrukciju. Za primjer je iskorišten TPA osigurač (Terminal position assurance) razvijen unutar tvrtke Yazaki Europe Limited Zagreb (YELZ). Šesto poglavlje je ujedno i zaključno poglavlje. U njemu je dan zaključak i popratni komentari vezani uz kalibraciju ovisno o geometriji problema. Također, dan je prijedlog dodatnog poboljšanja materijalnog modela koji bi uključio lomno ponašanje konstrukcije pri tlačnom i smičnom opterećenju.In today’s world of technologically advanced and modern vehicles, electrical connectors play a critical role in linking various electrical systems. Among the most prominent materials used in the manufacture of modern electrical connectors is polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), valued particularly for its relatively simple adaptability in reinforcing mechanical properties based on customer specifications. The variant of PBT used in this study is reinforced with 30% glass fibers (PBT-GF30). This work focuses on determining and validating the constitutive and fracture behavior parameters of the PBT-GF30 material. The study is organized into six chapters. The first chapter provides a brief introduction to PBT materials and a review of publicly available data regarding their mechanical properties. In the second chapter, the constitutive model of material behavior is defined. Beginning with a basic linear elastic model, it progresses to include elasto-plastic behavior and ultimately damage and fracture mechanics, resulting in a comprehensive constitutive model for structural behavior. This study specifically examines brittle fracture, which occurs at small deformations due to the rapid accumulation of defects within the material over a short period.The third chapter describes the experimental testing of the specimen through a uniaxial static tensile test. Standards for specimen fabrication and the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method used for data analysis are also discussed here. In the fourth chapter, the material model is validated using numerical simulations of the static tensile test conducted with the Abaqus® software package. The fifth chapter then applies the developed material model to a real-world scenario, with a Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) component developed by Yazaki Europe Limited Zagreb (YELZ) serving as the practical example. The sixth and final chapter presents the conclusion, along with observations related to calibration based on problem geometry. Additionally, a proposal for further improvement of the material model is provided, which would incorporate fracture behavior under compressive and shear loading conditions

    Lišmanioza je invazijska bolest ljudi i mnogih vrsta životinja koja je uzrokovana parazitima iz roda Leishmania. Opisano je tridesetak vrsta i podvrsta iz roda, a njih dvadesetak uzrokuje bolest kod ljudi (zoonoze). Lišmanije se razvijaju preko biološkog vektora, a nalazimo ih u dva oblika (promastigotni i amastigotni oblik). Vektori lišmanioze su hematofagni insekti tzv. papatači iz rodova Phlebotomus i Lutzomyia. Kod ljudi, lišmanioza se pojavljuje u nekoliko oblika: kožna, kožno – sluznička te visceralna, a psi su najvažniji rezervoari bolesti te najveća opasnost za ljude. Lišmanije se mogu prenositi i transfuzijom krvi i krvnih derivata, transplacentarno te spolnim putem. Kod invadiranih pasa klinička slika varira od blage, pa sve do jake kliničke manifestacije i uginuća. Uključeni su kožno-sluzničko-visceralni simptomi. Lišmaniozu je moguće dijagnosticirati direktnim putem, tj. parazitološkim nalazom uzročnika u obojenom uzorku punktata limfnih čvorova, koštane srži, slezene ili jetre te in vitro kultivacijom u hranjivim podlogama. Indirektno je moguće dokazati bolest dokazujući protutijela s različitim serološkim metodama kao što su indirektna imunofluorescencija, imunoenzimski test, imunokromatografski test, direktna aglutinacija te western-blotting. Bilo koja metoda dijagnostike je adekvatna ako se koristi u kombinaciji s kliničkom slikom.Leishmaniosis is an invasive disease of humans and many animal species, which is caused by parasites from the genus Leishmania. About thirty species and subspecies of the genus have been described, and about twenty of them cause the disease in humans (zoonoses). Leishmaniosis develops through an biological vector, and can be found in two forms (promastigote and amastigote form). The vectors of leishmaniosis are hematophagous insects, sandflies from Phlebotomus and Lutzomyia genera. In humans, leishmaniosis appears in several forms: cutaneous, muco-cutaneous and visceral form. Dogs are the most important reservoir of the disease and are the greatest danger to humans. Leishmania can be transmitted by transfusion of blood and blood derivatives, transplacentally and sexually. In infected dogs, clinical signs vary from mild, to severe clinical manifestations and death. Cutaneous, muco-cutaneous and visceral symptoms are involved. Leishmaniosis can be diagnosed directly, i. e. by parasitological detection of the causative agent in stained lymph node, bone marrow, spleen or liver biopsy sample and by in vitro cultivation in in vitro culture. Indirectly is possible to prove diseases by proving the antibodies with different serological methods such as indirect immunofluorescence, immunoenzymatic test, immunochromatographic test, direct agglutination and western-blotting.     The origin and composition of the Mura River sediments

    U ovome radu analiziran je granulometrijski i modalni sastav te ukupna koncentracija metala u recentnim riječnim sedimentima. Uzorci su prikupljeni s 11 različitih lokacija duž dijela toka rijeke Mure koji prolazi Republikom Hrvatskom. Rezultati granulometrijskih analiza pokazali su da se većina sedimenata može determinirati kao srednje do vrlo loše sortirani prahoviti pijesak. Analizom modalnog sastava utvrđeno da je kvarc najzastupljeniji sastojak sedimenata. U zajednici teških minerala najzastupljeniji su granati, amfiboli i minerali iz skupine epidota. Utvrđena mineralna zajednica karakteristična je za sedimente porijeklom iz istočnih Alpa. Analizom ukupnih koncentracija 18 elemenata u prikupljenim sedimentima utvrđeno je da su koncentracije metala poput Cr, Al, Zn, Co, Ni, Sn povišene u odnosu na literaturne podatke. Smatra se da su glavni razlozi tome uglavnom antropogene prirode, a među njima ističu se nekadašnji rudnici ugljena na tome prostoru, velika farmaceutska industrija i poljoprivredne aktivnosti.In this study, the grain size and mineral composition as well as the total element concentration in recent river sediments were analysed. Samples were taken from 11 different locations along the part of the Mura River that flows through the Republic of Croatia. The results of the grain size analyses showed that most of the sediments can be determined as medium to very poorly sorted silty sand. The analysis of the mineral composition showed that quartz is the most abundant component of the sediments. The most abundant heavy minerals are garnets, amphiboles and minerals from the epidote group. The identified mineral assemblage is characteristic for sediments from the Eastern Alps. The analysis of the total concentrations of 18 elements in the collected sediments showed that the concentrations of metals such as Cr, Al, Zn, Co, Ni, Sn are elevated compared to literature data. It is assumed that the main reasons for this are of anthropogenic nature, such as former coal mines in the region, large pharmaceutical industry and agricultural activities

    Gelovi, aerogelovi i kserogelovi su tri različita stanja materijala, svako od kojih posjeduje jedinstvena svojstva i primjenu. Aerogel je vrsta posebno poroznog materijala, izuzetno niske gustoće te velike poroznosti. Ističe se po svojim iznimnim izolacijskim svojstvima te velikim specifičnim površinama pa se njegova primjena očituje u području optoelektronike, zrakoplovne industrije, svemirske opreme te u mnogim drugim područjima. Celuloza, prirodni biopolimer koji se nalazi u stjenkama biljnih stanica, ističe se kao izvrstan materijal za sintezu aerogelova. Zbog svoje obnovljivosti, biorazgradivosti te biokompatibilnosti celulozni aerogelovi privlače sve više pažnje, pogotovo u području biomedicine gdje se očituje njihov značajan potencijal. Ovaj diplomski rad daje pregled sinteze i karakterizacije kserogelova i aerogelova na bazi celuloze modificiranih ureom, natrijevim kloridom i magnezijevim kloridom. Karakterizacija ovih modificiranih materijala provedena je raznim analitičnim tehnikama, uključujući pretražnu elektronsku mikroskopiju (SEM), energijski disperzivnu spektrometriju (EDS) te rendgensku difrakcijsku analizu (XRD). Primarni cilj je bio istražiti utjecaj ovih modifikacija kao i metode pripreme gela na veličinu pora, poroznost i skupljanje volumena kako bi se dobio uvid u njihovu potencijalnu primjenu u različitim područjima.Gels, aerogels, and xerogels are three distinct states of materials, each with unique properties and applications. Aerogel is a type of particularly porous material, with extremely low density and high porosity. It stands out for its exceptional insulating properties and high specific surface area, so its application is evident in the field of optoelectronics, the aviation industry, space equipment and many other areas. Cellulose, a natural biopolymer found in plant cell walls, is an excellent material for aerogel production. Due to their renewability, biodegradability and biocompatibility, cellulose aerogels are attracting more attention, especially in the field of biomedicine, where they have a significant potential. This thesis provides an overview of the synthesis and characterization of cellulose-based xerogels and aerogels modified with urea, sodium chloride and magnesium chloride. Characterization of these modified materials was performed using various analytical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The primary objective was to investigate the influence of these modifications as well as the gel preparation method on pore size, porosity and volume shrinkage in order to gain insight into their potential application in different fields

    Bioremediation of leachate from biowaste

    Povećanje broja stanovnika i rastuća industrijalizacija rezultirali su znatnim količinama otpada i onečišćenja okoliša diljem svijeta. Sa sve većim izazovima u održivom gospodarenju otpadom, problematika otpada postaje sve izraženija. Procjedne vode, koje nastaju kao tekući nusproizvodi prolaskom kroz otpadne materijale, posebno su zabrinjavajuće zbog svoje složenosti i visokog sadržaja organskih tvari. Njihovo ispuštanje u prirodne vodotokove može štetno utjecati na okoliš. Biološka obrada procjednih voda postaje odlučujući čimbenik u njihovom upravljanju, pri čemu se mikroorganizmi koriste za uklanjanje onečišćujućih tvari i poboljšanje kvalitete vode. Među različitim postupcima biološke obrade, bioremedijacija se ističe kao učinkovit pristup zbog svoje održive prakse i ekološke prihvatljivosti. U ovom radu provedena je bioremedijacija procjedne vode iz biootpada u šaržnim i submerznim uvjetima. Fizikalno-kemijskim i mikroskopskim analizama dobiven je uvid u tijek procesa biorazgradnje prisutnih organskih onečišćujućih tvari. Svjetlosnom mikroskopijom dobiven je brzi uvid u promjene sustava tijekom procesa bioremedijacije. Učinkovitost bioremedijacije procjedne vode iz biootpada iznosila je 89 %.Population growth and increasing industrialization have led to considerable amounts of waste and environmental pollution in all regions around the world. With the increasing challenges of sustainable waste management, waste-related problems are becoming more and more apparent. Leachates, the liquid by-products of the passage of waste materials, are particularly problematic due to their complexity and high organic content. Their discharge into natural watercourses can have harmful effects on the environment. Biological treatment of leachates is becoming increasingly important in their management, using microorganisms to remove pollutants and improve water quality. Among the various biological treatment methods, bioremediation stands out as an effective approach due to its sustainable practices and ecological acceptability. In this study, the bioremediation of leachate from biowaste was carried out under batch and submerged conditions. Physico-chemical and microscopic analyzes provided information on the course of the biodegradation process of the organic pollutants present. Light microscopy provided a quick insight into the system changes during the biodegradation process. The efficiency of bioremediation of leachate from biowaste was 89 %

    Sadržaj metala u eluatima tla s područja bivše tvornice glinice kod Obrovca i njihov učinak na klijanje sjemenki salate (Lactuca sativa)

    Alumina factories are plants for refining aluminum oxide from bauxite ore. Seven soil samples were taken in the vicinity of the former Jadral alumina factory near Obrovac, and the multielement analyses revealed elevated concentrations of heavy metals, especially iron (Fe), but high levels of Mn, Cr, V and Zn were also detected. Two types of soil eluates were prepared from the soil samples using two methods - the EN 12457-2 (European Standard Batch Leaching Test) and the TCLP-2 (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure). The soil eluates differed mainly in the pH values, while the metal content was generally low. The seed germination test was carried out not only with soil eluates prepared according to the two methods mentioned, but also with eluates whose pH was adjusted to 6.5. In addition to the influence of multielement composition of the eluates, the pH value had a predominant effect on both the germination of the lettuce seeds and the radicle growth. Comparing the effects of the samples on radicle growth and the germination process, radicle growth was the more sensitive parameter. This study sheds light on the impact of the former alumina factory, by showing the presence of heavy metals in the soil and possible consequences for the environment.Tvornice glinice su postrojenja za rafiniranje aluminijevog oksida iz boksitne rude. U sklopu ovog istraživanja uzeto je sedam uzoraka tla u blizini bivše tvornice Jadral kod Obrovca. Multielementna analiza otkrila je povišene koncentracije teških metala u tim uzorcima, posebice željeza (Fe), kao i visoke razine Mn, Cr, V i Zn. Kako bi se detaljnije istražili ovi nalazi, dvije vrste eluata tla pripremljene su iz uzoraka tla korištenjem dviju različitih metoda - EN 12457-2 (European Standard Batch Leaching Test) i TCLP-2 (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure). Dobiveni eluati tla razlikovali su se prvenstveno u pH vrijednosti, dok je njihov sadržaj metala općenito bio nizak. Uz navedeno, istražen je utjecaj eluata na klijavost sjemenki salate, ne samo eluata tla pripremljenih prema gore navedenim metodama, već i eluata čija je pH vrijednost podešena na 6,5. Rezultati su pokazali da je uz multielementni sastav uzoraka eluata tla, značajan bio utjecaj pH vrijednosti, kako na klijavost sjemenki salate tako i na rast korijenka. Uspoređujući učinke uzoraka na rast korijenka i proces klijanja, rast korijenka bio je osjetljiviji parametar. Ovo istraživanje ukazuje na utjecaj bivše tvornice aluminija, ističući prisutnost teških metala u tlu i moguće posljedice za okoliš

    Parameterization of 3D CAD models of pipe systems for prefabricated construction

    U ovom radu opisan je proces izrade parametarskog modela cijevnih sustava prefabricirane gradnje koji služi za brzu i jednostavnu prilagodbu elemenata sustava prema zahtjevima projekta. Rad započinje kratkim osvrtom na prisutnost parametrizacije u gradnji te se prikazuju prednosti parametrizacije računalnih modela. Nakon toga provedena je analiza cijevnih sustava i njihovih elemenata koji se koriste u prefabriciranoj gradnji. Ova analiza je poslužila za bolje razumijevanje cjevovodnih sustava te je pružila jasniju sliku o tome kako bi različite vrste cijevnih sustava trebale izgledati u obliku parametarskog modela. U sljedećem koraku prikazana je važnost korištenja računalnih alata za izradu 3D modela proizvoda te je objašnjeno zašto se 2D alati ne bi mogli koristiti u ovakvo kompleksnim primjenama parametrizacije. Objašnjeni su pojedini alati koji su korišteni za izradu rada te su istaknute ostale bitne stavke korištenog 3D CAD sustava. Potom su formulirani parametri za raspored i dimenzije elemenata cijevnih sustava te je prikazana raspodjela i parametrizacija za različite vrste cijevnih sustava. Nakon prikupljanja dovoljno informacija o parametrizaciji i cijevnim sustavima općenito, u nastavku je prikazana razrada završnog parametarskog modela, a kojom je moguće postići brzu i jednostavnu prilagodbu rasporeda cijevnih sustava za različite izvedbe prefabriciranih kupaonica.This thesis describes the process of creating parametric models for prefabricated construction which are used for quick and easy adjustment of the system elements according to specific project requirements. The thesis begins with a brief overview of the presence of parametrization in construction and highlights the advantages of parametric models. After that, pipe systems and their components used in prefabricated construction were studied. This analysis serves to enhance understanding of pipeline systems and provides a clearer picture of how different types of pipe systems should appear in parametric model. In the next step, the importance of using 3D tools in model creation is presented and it is explained why 2D tools may not be suitable for such complex applications of parametrization. Some of the tools used in thesis are explained and other important items of the 3D CAD system which were used are highlighted. Parameters for the layout and dimensions of pipe system elements are then formulated, followed by the demonstration of distribution and parametrization for different pipeline systems. After gathering sufficient information on parametrization and pipe systems in general, the subsequent sections present the development of the final parametric model. This model allows a quick and easy adaptation of the layout of pipe systems for various configurations of prefabricated bathrooms

    Transport vehicle cooling technologies

    Tema završnog rada je pregled tehnologija hlađenja te usporedba pogona rashladnih kompresijskih sustava u transportu. Projektiran je rashladni kompresijski sustav dostavnog vozila rashladnog učinka 5 kW pri temperaturi isparavanja od -6 °C i pri temperaturi kondenzacije od 50 °C. Proces hlađenja je direktan, što znači da odabrano rashladno sredstvo propan (R290), hladi zrak koji nastrujava na proizvode koji se nalaze u rashladnom prostoru. Rad obuhvaća proračun toplinskih opterećenja rashladnog prostora, termodinamički proces te izračun učina kondenzatora i snage kompresora. Provedena je analiza potrošnje pogonske energije rashladnog kompresijskog sustava pri različitim temperaturama okoliša na dnevnoj i godišnjoj razini kao i usporedba emisija CO2 kada je isti rashladni kompresijski sustav pogonjen motorom s unutarnjim izgaranjem i baterijskim modulom.The topic of the thesis is a review of cooling technologies and a comparsion of a propulsion systems of refrigeration compression systems in transport. A refrigeration compression system with a capacity of 5 kW at an evaporation temperature of -6 °C and a condensation temperature of 50 °C was desgined. The cooling process is direct, meaning the selected refrigerant, propane (R290), cools the air flowing over the products located in the refrigerated space. The work includes the calculation of thermal loads of the refrigerated space, the thermodynamic process, the calculation of condenser efficiency and the power of the compressor. An analysis of the electric energy consumption of the refrigeration compression system at different ambient temperatures on a daily and yearly basis was conducted, as well as a comparsion of CO_2 emissions when the same refrigeration compression system is powered by an internal combustion engine and a battery module

    Stanična parabioza

    Since the human lifespan has been extended in the past decades, age-related diseases have become a significant societal problem. Thus, life science research is increasingly attempting to develop approaches to delay or attenuate aging and age-related diseases. These attempts target mostly cell-autonomous factors. However, it has been shown that during aging cell populations become increasingly heterogenous, with some cells still young and functional and others damaged or dying. This has raised an interest in the role of non-cell-autonomous factors in aging, i.e. how cells with different phenotypes affect each other. In this study I tested the hypothesis of cellular parabiosis, which states that the cellular damage may be phenotypically supressed by intercellular communication with the surrounding healthy cells. Cellular damage was induced in the immortalized hamster lung fibroblasts by staurosporine - an inducer of apoptosis. Sublethal dose of staurosporine that allows recovery of the cells after removal of the treatment was determined using a cell viability assay. Mammalian cells were then treated with such dose of staurosporine, and grown either in the monoculture or in the co-culture with healthy cells. Comparison of the numbers of surviving cells between the two conditions was performed by flow cytometry. The results showed that the recovery of the damaged cells was significantly higher in co-culture with the healthy cells compared to the monoculture conditions. Next, I tested the involvement of the tunneling nanotube-mediated intercellular communication in this recovery. The same experiment was performed in the presence or absence of the actin polymerization inhibitor latrunculin B, which also inhibits the formation of the tunneling nanotubes. The efficiency and lack of toxicity of latrunculin B was confirmed by imaging the actin cytoskeleton using fluorescent microscopy and by the cell viability assay, respectively. Comparing the results obtained in the presence or absence of latrunculin B showed that latrunculin B partially inhibited the recovery of the damaged cells in co-culture, suggesting the involvement of the tunneling nanotubes in the process. These results support the initial hypothesis of cellular parabiosis, as well as the importance of non-cell-autonomous factors in damaged phenotype supression.Budući da se ljudski vijek produžio u proteklim desetljećima, bolesti povezane sa starenjem postale su značajan društveni problem. Stoga istraživanje znanosti o životu sve više pokušava razviti pristupe za odgodu ili ublažavanje starenja i bolesti povezanih sa starenjem. Ti pokušaji uglavnom ciljaju čimbenike autonomnih staničnih procesa. Međutim, pokazalo se da tijekom starenja populacije stanica postaju sve heterogenije, pri čemu su neke stanice još uvijek mlade i funkcionalne, a druge su oštećene ili umiru. To je potaknulo interes za ulogu čimbenika neautonomnih staničnih procesa u starenju, tj. kako stanice s različitim fenotipovima utječu jedna na drugu. U ovoj sam studiji testirala hipotezu stanične parabioze, koja predlaže da stanično oštećenje može biti fenotipski potisnuto međustaničnom komunikacijom s okolnim zdravim stanicama. Stanično oštećenje inducirano je u imortaliziranim fibroblastima pluća hrčka koristeći staurosporin - induktor apoptoze. Subletalna doza staurosporina koja omogućuje oporavak stanica nakon uklanjanja tretmana određena je ispitivanjem stanične viabilnosti. Stanice sisavaca zatim su tretirane takvom dozom staurosporina i uzgojene ili u monokulturi ili u kokulturi sa zdravim stanicama. Usporedba broja preživjelih stanica između dva stanja provedena je protočnom citometrijom. Rezultati su pokazali da je oporavak oštećenih stanica bio znatno veći u kokulturi sa zdravim stanicama u usporedbi s uvjetima monokulture. Zatim sam testirala uključenost međustanične komunikacije posredovane tunelirajućim nanocijevčicama u ovom oporavku. Isti je eksperiment izveden u prisutnosti ili odsutnosti inhibitora polimerizacije aktina latrunkulina B, koji također inhibira stvaranje tunelirajućih nanocijevčica. Učinkovitost i nedostatak toksičnosti latrunkulina B potvrđeni su vizualiziranjem aktinskog citoskeleta pomoću fluorescentne mikroskopije, odnosno ispitivanjem stanične viabilnosti. Usporedba rezultata dobivenih u prisutnosti ili odsutnosti latrunkulina B pokazala je da latrunkulin B djelomično inhibira oporavak oštećenih stanica u kokulturi, što ukazuje na uključenost tunelirajućih nanocjevčica u ovom procesu. Ovi rezultati podupiru početnu hipotezu stanične parabioze, kao i važnost čimbenika neautonomnih staničnih procesa u supresiji oštećenog fenotipa

    U ovom radu provedena je numerička analiza ponašanja suho zidanog zvonika uslijed potresnog djelovanja. Analiza je provedena na zidanoj konstrukciji izgrađenoj u 17. stoljeću koja ima namjenu zvonika, a smještena je u gradu Ruina s južne strane rijeke Po u Italiji. Metoda proračuna korištena u ovom radu temelji se na Kombiniranoj metodi konačno-diskretnih elemenata. Zvonik je modeliran s dvije vrste blokova različitih veličina i dvije vrste podloga, uz usvojena tri različita prigušenja. Kao pobuda korišten je potres koji se dogodio u Crnoj Gori-Petrovac 1979. U okviru rada provedena je inkrementalna dinamička analiza do potpunog sloma konstrukcije.In this paper, a numerical analysis of the behavior of a dry masonry belfry due to exposure to seismic action was performed. The analysis was carried out on a brick structure built in the 17th century, which has the purpose of a bell tower and is located in the city of Ruina on the south side of the Po River in Italy. The calculation method used in this paper is based on the Combined finite-discrete element method. The belfry is modeled with two types of blocks of different sizes and two types of foundations, with three different attenuations adopted. The earthquake that occurred in Montenegro-Petrovac in 1979 was used as a stimulus. As part of the paper, an incremental dynamic analysis was carried out until the complete collapse of the structure
