Children and sports
Ovaj rad istražuje važnost sporta u životu djece kroz analizu povijesti sporta, različitih prednosti koje pruža, širok spektar dostupnih vrsta sportova te ključnu ulogu roditelja i trenera u poticanju djece na sportske aktivnosti. Procesom istraživanja povijesti dječjeg sporta naglašava se kontinuitet tradicije bavljenja sportom, prikazujući kako se ta praksa njegovala od antičkih vremena do današnjice. Usvajanje sportskih aktivnosti donosi djetetu niz prednosti, obuhvaćajući fizičke, psihološke i socijalne aspekte, a istovremeno pridonosi cjelovitom razvoju djeteta.
Rad detaljno razmatra različite vrste sportova, istražujući individualne i ekipne sportske discipline te razlike između rekreativnih i natjecateljskih aktivnosti. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na važnost podrške i motivacije roditelja i trenera u dječjem sportskom angažmanu, ističući njihovu ključnu ulogu u poticanju djece na postizanje sportskih ciljeva. Također, analizirani su potencijalni rizici ozljeda u sportu te pristupi prevenciji istih, uz prikazivanje primjera uspješnih sportskih programa prilagođenih djeci.
Uz širok spektar sportskih programa poput školskih sportskih inicijativa, lokalnih sportskih klubova te nacionalnih projekata, ovaj rad ističe raznovrsnost pristupa dječjem sportu s ciljem promicanja zdravlja, razvoja i dobrobiti djece. Sudjelovanje djece u sportu ne samo ih potiče na fizičku aktivnost, već i sudjeluje u oblikovanju njihovog karaktera, unaprjeđenju socijalnih vještina i pripremi za izazove s kojima se susreću tijekom života. Kroz ovakav sveobuhvatan pristup, rad sugerira važnost kontinuirane podrške i promocije dječjih sportskih aktivnosti za stvaranje zdravijih i odlučnijih generacija.This paper explores the importance of sports in children's lives through an analysis of the history of sports, the various benefits it provides, the wide range of available types of sports, and the crucial role of parents and coaches in encouraging children to engage in sports activities. By examining the history of children's sports, the paper emphasizes the continuity of the tradition of engaging in sports, illustrating how this practice has been nurtured from ancient times to the present day. Engaging in sports activities brings a range of benefits to children, encompassing physical, psychological, and social aspects, while simultaneously contributing to the holistic development of the child.
The paper thoroughly examines different types of sports, exploring individual and team sports disciplines, as well as the differences between recreational and competitive activities. Special emphasis is placed on the importance of support and motivation from parents and coaches in children's sports engagement, highlighting their crucial role in encouraging children to achieve sports goals. Additionally, potential risks of injuries in sports are analyzed, along with approaches to preventing them, and examples of successful sports programs tailored to children are presented.
With a wide range of sports programs such as school sports initiatives, local sports clubs, and national projects, this paper highlights the diversity of approaches to children's sports with the goal of promoting health, development, and well-being in children. Participation in sports not only encourages children to be physically active but also contributes to shaping their character, enhancing social skills, and preparing them for the challenges they will face throughout life. Through this comprehensive approach, the paper suggests the importance of continuous support and promotion of children's sports activities for the creation of healthier and more determined generations
Modified sol-gel synthesis and characterization of nickel doped cerium(IV) oxide
Cerij je vrlo reaktivan element koji je sklon reagiranju sa kisikom na zraku formiraju i cerijev(IV) oksid, CeO2. Svojstva cerija usko su povezana sa njegovom elektronskom konfiguracijom [Xe]4f¹5d¹6s², gdje se cerij nalazi ili u Ce3+ ili u Ce4+ stanju, bto utje e na
njegovu sposobnost skladibtenja kisika u strukturi cerijevog(IV) oksida. Zbog svojih svojstava, ima sve biru uporabu u podru jima poput magnetizma gdje se koristi kao trajni magnet, dok se u komercijalne svrhe koristi u lakozapaljivim legurama sa ~eljezom (njem. Mischmetall) prisutnim u raznim upalja ima i svjetiljkama. Termi ka stabilnost cerijeva(IV) oksida razlog je primjene u heterogenim katalizatorima gdje se njegova svojstva i termi ka stabilnost mogu dodatno poboljbati dopiranjem s drugim elementima poput mangana, nikla, bakra ili gadolinija. Cerijev(IV) oksid predstavlja ekolobku i jeftiniju alternativu skupljim elementima koji se
koriste u katalizatorima poput platine, zlata i dr. U ovom radu prou avan je utjecaj dopiranja cerijeva(IV) oksida niklom na njegova svojstva. Modificiranom sol-gel sintezom, pripravljeno je pet spojeva cerijeva(IV) oksida dopiranih s razli itim udjelima nikla od 16 % do 20 % koji su karakterizirani rendgenskom difrakcijom u prahu i termogravimetrijskom analizom.Cerium is a rare earth element that is highly reactive with a tendency to react with oxygen in the air to form cerium(IV) oxide, CeO2. The properties of cerium are closely related to its electronic configuration [Xe]4f¹5d¹6s², as cerium can exist either in the Ce3+ or the Ce4+ states, affecting its ability to store oxygen in the crystal structure of cerium(IV) oxide. Owing to these properties, cerium has seen increasingly diverse applications in areas such as magnetism where it is used as a permanent magnet, but also in commercial applications where it is found in ignitable alloys paired with iron (De. Mischmetall)which is present in various lighters and lamps. Cerium(IV) oxide is also being used in heterogeneous catalysis, where its thermal stability can be further enhanced via doping with other elements such as manganese, nickel, copper, or gadolinium. Cerium(IV) oxide, being a fairly common element, represents an environmentally friendly and cost–effective alternative to more expensive elements traditionally found in catalysts. In this paper, the effects of doping cerium(IV) oxide with nickel were studied. Five compounds of cerium(IV) oxide doped with varying nickel contents, from 16 % to 20 %, were synthesized using modified sol-gel synthesis and characterized using X–ray powder diffraction, as well as thermogravimetric analysis
Work on the role of the son in the play " Stribor Forest"
Šuma Striborova nastala je kao diplomski ispit studenta Luke Selmana, pod mentorstvom izv. prof. dr. art. Maje Lučić i umjetničkog suradnika Gorana Guksića na Akademiji za umjetnosti i kulturu u Osijeku, na Odsjeku za kazališnu umjetnost, Diplomski studij lutkarske animacije. U predstavi sudjeluju studenti Luka Selman u ulozi Sina, Mateja Tustanovski u ulozi Guje, Laura Kolesarić u ulozi Majke i Matko Trnačić u ulozi Malika i Stribora. U ovom radu je opisan proces rada na predstavi od samog rada s lutkama do rasvjete, glazbe i stvaranja plakata za predstavu. Dotiče se osobnih problema tijekom rada na predstavi, te odnosa s izvornim materijalom i njegove povezanosti s ostatkom kulture.Stribor’s Forest was created as the final exam of the student Luka Selman under the mentorship of assoc. prof. dr. art. Maja Lučić and art. assoc. Goran Guksić at the Academy of Art and Culture in Osijek, Department of Theater Arts, Puppetry. The cast of the play consists of Luka Selman in the role of the Son, Mateja Tustanovski in the role of the Snake, Laura Kolesarić in the role of the Mother and Matko Trnačić in the role of Malik and Stribor. This paper describes the process of creating the play from puppetry, light and sound design to creating the poster for the play. It talks about the personal struggles during the process its source material and its connection to the rest of today’s culture
The role of lectins in the immune response
Lektini su proteini koji se vežu za ugljikohidrate i glikokonjugate. Zbog sposobnosti prepoznavanja drugih molekula izrazito su važni u raznim biomedicinskim istraživanjima, a primjenu nalaze i u terapiji i dijagnostici. U kontekstu imunosnog odgovora, lektini imaju važnu ulogu kao imunomodulatori. U uro enom imunosnom odgovoru, lektini su uklju eni u aktivaciju sustava komplemenata, prepoznavanje patogena i fagocitozu. Tako er, lektini sudjeluju i u modulaciji ste enog imunosnog odgovora kroz aktivaciju T- i B-stanica. Uz svoju ulogu u zabtiti organizma lektini su povezani s razvojem autoimunih bolesti. U radu su prikazani rezultati iz literaturno dostupnih podataka, a pretraživana je literatura na hrvatskom i engleskom jeziku.Lectins are proteins that bind to carbohydrates and glycoconjugates. Due to their ability to recognize other molecules, they are extremely important in various biomedical research, and they are also used in therapy and diagnostics. In the context of the immune response, lectins play an important role as immunomodulators. In the innate immune response, lectins are involved in complement system activation, pathogen recognition and phagocytosis. Also, lectins participate in the modulation of the acquired immune response through the activation of T- and B-cells. In addition to their role in protecting the body, lectins are associated with the development of autoimmune diseases. Distribution of carnosine in chicken meat samples
Sintezom aminokiseline β-alanina i ʟ-histidina nastaje karnozin, dipeptid mnogobrojnih pozitivnih u inaka na zdravlje ovjeka. Karnozin ima ulogu pH pufera, kelatora metalnih iona, antioksidansa, imunomodulatora i neurotransmitera te se zbog toga najvibe koristi u medicini ali i sportu te kozmetici. Hrana oboga ena biolobkim djelatnim tvarima (nutricinima) ima pozitivan u inak na zdravlje ovjeka pa je određivanje koncentracije nutricina vrlo va~no. Ranija istra~ivanja pokazala su da koncentracija karnozina u mesu ovisi o vrsti mibi nog tkiva pa je koncentracija karnozina u mesu pile ih prsa ve a nego u mesu zabatka za prosje no 40 %. U ovom radu određivana je koncentracija karnozina i anserina u uzorcima mesa pile ih prsa kako bi se vidjelo jesu li dipeptidi ravnomjerno
raspoređeni u mesu pile ih prsa. Za određivanje koncentracije koristila se teku inska kromatografija visoke djelotvornosti s UV-VIS detekcijom. Određena je prosje na koncentracija karnozina i iznosila je za lijevi dio prsa (uzorci A) 225,239 mg/kg mesa dok je za desni dio prsa (uzorci B) koncentracija 218,654 mg/kg mesa. Koncentracija anserina za uzorke A iznosila je 852,518 mg/kg mesa a uzorke B 815,616 mg/kg mesa. Dobiveni rezultati pokazali su da nema zna ajne razlike u raspodjeli karnozina i anserina u mesu pile ih prsa s obzirom na dio mesa koji se analizirao.Synthesis of the amino acids β-alanine and ʟ-histidine produces carnosine, a dipeptide with numerous positive effects on human health. Carnosine acts as a pH buffer, metal ion chelator, antioxidant, immunomodulator and neurotransmitter, which is why it is mostly used in medicine, sports and cosmetics. Food enriched with biologically active substances (nutricins) has a positive effect on human health, therefore determining the concentration of nutricins is very important. Earlier research showed that the concentration of carnosine in meat depends on the type of muscle tissue, so the concentration of carnosine in chicken breast meat is higher than in thigh meat by 40% on average. In this work, the concentration of carnosine and anserine in chicken breast meat samples was determined in order to see if the dipeptides are evenly distributed in chicken breast meat. High performance liquid chromatography with UV-VIS detection was used to determine the concentration. The average concentration of carnosine was determined, which for the left part of the breast (A samples) was 225,239 mg/kg of meat, while for the right part of the breast (B samples) the concentration was 218,654 mg/kg of meat. The concentration of anserine for samples A was 852,518 mg/kg of meat, and for samples B 815,616 mg/kg of meat. The obtained results showed that there is no significant difference in the distribution of carnosine and anserine in chicken breast meat,considering the part of the meat that was analyzed
Protection of human rights with special reference to the relationship between two European courts : the Court of the EU and the ECHR
Rad se bavi temom zaštite ljudskih prava u Europskoj uniji (EU) s posebnim naglaskom na odnosu između dva ključna europska suda: Suda Europske unije (Sud EU-a) i Europskog suda za ljudska prava (ESLJP-a). Autorica istražuje kako ova dva suda surađuju i međusobno utječu na zaštitu ljudskih prava unutar EU-a. Analizira se pravna osnova, postupci, i odluke oba suda te njihov doprinos unaprjeđenju ljudskih prava u europskom pravnom sustavu. Kroz proučavanje slučajeva i zakonodavstva, rad ističe ključne aspekte suradnje i potencijalne izazove u osiguravanju dosljedne i učinkovite zaštite ljudskih prava u EU-u. Zaključci rada ukazuju na važnost sinergije između Suda EU-a i ESLJP-a u stvaranju snažnog pravnog okvira za zaštitu ljudskih prava unutar EU-a.The paper explores the topic of human rights protection in the European Union (EU), with a particular emphasis on the relationship between two key European courts: the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The author investigates how these two courts collaborate and mutually influence the protection of human rights within the EU. The legal foundation, procedures, and decisions of both courts are analyzed, highlighting their contributions to enhancing human rights in the European legal system. Through the examination of cases and legislation, the paper underscores key aspects of collaboration and potential challenges in ensuring consistent and effective protection of human rights in the EU. The conclusions of the paper emphasize the importance of synergy between the CJEU and ECtHR in establishing a robust legal framework for the protection of human rights within the EU
Implementacija održivosti u poslovanju : trendovi i prakse
U suvremenom svijetu, koji je određen neizvjesnošću i ubrzanim promjenama, ekonomije se suočavaju sa sve većim ekološkim, društvenim i gospodarskim izazovima. Stoga je održivi razvoj postao preduvjet i nužnost očuvanja biološke raznolikosti, društvene stabilnosti i ekonomskog razvoja. U prvom dijelu rada predstavljeni su temeljni koncepti održivog razvoja i povijesni razvitak. Također, objašnjeno je što sve sadržava izvještaj o održivosti te koji su regulatorni okviri izvještavanja o održivosti, poput EU Direktive o korporativnom izvještavanju o održivosti (CSRD). Prethodno spomenute regulative postavljaju obveze i standarde za izvještavanje o održivosti. Nadalje, cilj ovoga diplomskoga rada je istražiti i analizirati trendove i prakse u implementaciji održivosti u poslovanju, s posebnim naglaskom na čimbenike koji doprinose uspješnoj integraciji održivih strategija u poduzeću. Rad sadržava pregled načina na koji poduzeća implementiraju održivu praksu, identificiraju glavne izazove s kojima se suočavaju te analiziraju pomoću ostvarenih inicijativa. U empirijskom dijelu rada, pomoću komparativne analize izvještaja o održivosti poduzeća Lidl Hrvatska i Kaufland Hrvatska, identificiraju se prakse koje provode spomenuta poduzeća te se istražuje jesu li poduzeća uistinu održiva.In the modern world, which is characterized by uncertainty and accelerated changes, economies face increasing environmental, social and economic challenges. Therefore, sustainable development has become a prerequisite and necessity for the preservation of biological diversity, social stability and economic development. In the first part of the paper, the basic concepts of sustainable development and its historical period are presented. Also, it is explained what the sustainability report contains and what are the regulatory frameworks of sustainability reporting, such as the EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Reporting (CSRD). The aforementioned regulations set obligations and standards for sustainability reporting. Furthermore, the paper presents trends and practices of sustainability that companies implement in their operations. Furthermore, the goal of this thesis is to investigate and analyze trends and practices in the implementation of sustainability in business, with a special focus on factors that contribute to the successful integration of sustainable strategies in the company. The paper also provides an overview of how companies implement sustainable practices, identifies the main challenges they face, and analyzes them through the initiatives implemented. In the empirical part of the work, through a comparative analysis of the sustainability reports of the companies Lidl Croatia and Kaufland Croatia, the practices implemented by these companies are identified and it is investigated whether the companies are truly sustainable
Beer Vinegar Production
Ocat dobiven biotehnološkim postupkom je živežna namirnica koja služi za konzerviranje hrane ili kao začin, a sastoji se od vode, octene kiseline (4 do 9 %), etanola (< 1 % vol), drugih mikrobnih metabolita te otopljenih čvrstih tvari (ugljikohidrati, bjelančevine, minerali i dr.) koje potječu iz sirovina ili tehnoloških dodataka koji se koriste u proizvodnji. Biotehnološka proizvodnja octa uključuje dvije faze: prva faza je fermentacija (anaerobna) šećera iz šećernih sirovina u etanol s pomoću kvasca, a druga faza je oksidacija etanola u octenu kiselinu s pomoću bakterija octene kiseline (najčešće iz roda Acetobacter i Gluconacetobacter). Ovisno o načinu proizvodnje (zanatska proizvodnja ili industrijska proizvodnja) i primijenjenoj tehnologiji, postupak dobivanja može trajati od nekoliko dana do nekoliko tjedana. Pivski ocat se dobiva postupkom oksidacije alkohola prisutnog u pivu u octenu kiselinu. Proces proizvodnje započinje inokulacijom piva, a inokulacija se može postići dodavanjem čiste kulture bakterija octene kiseline ili dodatkom matičnog octa (eng. mother vinegar) koja je dobivena prethodnim postupkom proizvodnje. Krajnji proizvod ima karakterističnu smeđu boju i bogat miris i okus koji ovisi o vrsti piva koje je korišteno za proizvodnju octa. Cilj ovog završnog rada bio je provesti i pratiti proizvodnju pivskog octa u laboratorijskom mjerilu.Vinegar obtained through a biotechnological process is a food product used for preserving food or as a condiment. It consists of water, acetic acid (4 to 9%), ethanol (< 1% vol), other microbial metabolites, and dissolved solids (carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, etc.) derived from raw materials or technological additives used in the production process. The biotechnological production of vinegar involves two phases: the first phase is the anaerobic fermentation of sugars from sugar-based raw materials into ethanol with the help of yeast, and the second phase is the oxidation of ethanol into acetic acid with the help of acetic acid bacteria, most commonly from the genera Acetobacter and Gluconacetobacter. Depending on the method of production (craft or industrial) and the applied technology, the process can take from several days to several weeks. Beer vinegar is produced through the oxidation of alcohol present in beer into acetic acid. The production process begins with the inoculation of the beer, which can be achieved by adding a pure culture of acetic acid bacteria or by using a “mother vinegar” obtained from a previous production process. The final product has a characteristic brown color and a rich aroma and flavor that depends on the type of beer used to produce the vinegar. Effect of Edible Pullulan Coating with the Addition of Natamycin and Basil Essential Oil on Cherry Tomato Quality
U radu je istražen utjecaj jestivog omotača od pululana s dodatkom natamicina i eteričnog ulja bosiljka na kvalitetu cherry rajčice kontaminirane plijesnima vrste Botrytis cinerea i Cladosporium cladosporioides tijekom čuvanja pri 25°C. Kontrolni i tretirani uzorci su skladišteni tijekom 9 dana, a analizirani su u 3., 6. i 9. danu. Uzorcima su, pored mikrobioloških parametara, tijekom čuvanja određeni i fizikalno-kemijski: boja, čvrstoća, topljiva suha tvar, sadržaj kiselina, pH te koncentracije dušika, kisika i ugljikovog dioksida u pakiranjima. Određen je i postotak vidljivo pljesnivih uzoraka rajčica kontaminiranim s B. cinerea i C. cladosporioides tijekom skladištenja. Jestivi omotač je utjecao na smanjenje koncentracije kisika i dušika u pakiranjima (ispod 16%; do 42%), a povećao koncentracije ugljičnog dioksida tijekom 9. dana, smanjio promjene boje te gubitak čvrstoće. Natamicin je snažnije inhibirao C. cladosporioides od B. cinerea (6,25 ppm minimalna inhibitorna koncentracija tj. MIK; 12,5 ppm MIK), dok su obje vrste jednako osjetljive na eterično ulje bosiljka (400 ppm MIK). Rajčice tretirane pululanom i natamicinom su duže zadržale kakvoću uz manji postotak pljesnivih plodova.The paper investigated the influence of an edible pullulan coating with the addition of natamycin and basil essential oil on the quality of cherry tomatoes contaminated with the molds Botrytis cinerea and Cladosporium cladosporioides during storage at 25°C. Control and treated samples were stored for 9 days, and were analyzed on the 3rd, 6th and 9th day. In addition to the microbiological parameters, the samples were also physicochemically analysed during storage: color, firmness, soluble dry matter, acid content, pH, and concentrations of nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide in the packages. The percentage of visibly moldy tomato samples contaminated with B. cinerea and C. cladosporioides during storage was also determined. The edible coating had the effect of reducing the concentration of oxygen and nitrogen in the packages (below 16%; up to 42%), and increased the concentration of carbon dioxide during the 9th day, reducing color changes and loss of firmness. Natamycin was more potent in inhibition of C. cladosporioides than B. cinerea (6.25 ppm minimum inhibitory concentration ie MIC; 12.5 ppm MIC), while both species are equally sensitive to basil essential oil (400 ppm MIC). Tomatoes treated with pullulan and natamycin kept their quality longer with a lower percentage of moldy fruits
Equilibrium of the Wire
U ovom završnom radu analizirana je ravnoteža žice. Za napetu elastičnu žicu prikazan je izvod jednadžbe ravnoteže, koja je linearna diferencijalna jednadžba drugog reda. Analizirani su različiti rubni uvjeti kao što su Dirichletov, Neumannov i Robinov, koji definiraju progib i napetost žice u rubovima. Iskazan je princip superpozicije koji je bitan za postupak homogenizacije rubnih uvjeta i općenito kod određivanja ravnotežnog položaja. Dokazana je jedinstvenost rješenja za specifične slučajeve, te je na kraju samog rada obrađeno koncentrirano djelovanje i korištenje Greenove funkcije za rješavanje rubne zadaće.This thesis analyzes the equilibrium of the wire. For a stretched elastic wire, the derivation of the equilibrium equation, which is a second-order linear differential equation, is presented. Various boundary conditions, such as Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin, which define the deflection and tension of the wire at its ends, are analyzed. The principle of superposition, important for the homogenization of boundary conditions and the general determination of the equilibrium position, is discussed. The uniqueness of the solution in specific cases is proven, and finally, concentrated forces and the use of Green’s function to solve the boundary value problem are addressed
