    No full text
This thesis explores how mentorship profoundly shapes the artistic, academic, and personal development of music performance students. In the high-pressure environment of university, mentors serve not only as technical instructors but also as emotional supporters, professional advisors, role models, and collaborators. The thesis examines key aspects of effective mentorship, including the importance of trust, communication, emotional intelligence, and mutual growth. It emphasises that when mentors balance authority with empathy and accountability, they create a safe and inspiring space for students to take creative risks, build confidence, and refine their craft. Ultimately, mentorship is shown to be a vital, transformative relationship that supports both the musician and the human behind the instrument

Detaljna analiza pojedinih varijacija pokazuje kako skladatelj varira teksture, ritmove i melodijske linije, čime postiže iznimno bogatstvo izraza unatoč formalnim ograničenjima. This thesis analyzes Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations, one of the most significant and extensive works for keyboard instruments from the Baroque period. The study provides insight into the historical context of the composition and examines the role of variation cycles in the musical tradition of that time. The structural analysis reveals the carefully designed architecture of the work and explores contrapuntal techniques. The thesis also discusses the stylistic and interpretative characteristics of the variations, including the influence of different dance forms and genres, ranging from sarabandes and polonaises to the French overture and quodlibet. The performance possibilities of the harpsichord and piano are compared, highlighting how the harpsichord allows for clear articulation of polyphonic lines, while the piano offers greater dynamic flexibility and expressiveness. A detailed analysis of individual variations demonstrates how composer manipulates textures, rhythms, and melodic lines, achieving remarkable expressiveness despite formal constraints

    No full text
Osnovna funkcija bugarije je harmonijska i ritamska pratnja, no njezine izvođačke mogućnosti nadilaze tu ulogu, omogućujući dinamičnu i izražajnu interpretaciju. Iako se najčešće koristi u narodnoj i tradicijskoj glazbi, sve češće se pojavljuje u suvremenim i jazz aranžmanima. Postoje različiti sustavi ugađanja bugarije, uključujući Farkašev, Jankovićev, G-sustav i A-sustav, a razlikuju se prema veličini, tonalitetu i harmonijskoj ulozi instrumenata u orkestru. Ovi sustavi omogućuju raznolikost u izvedbi, pridonoseći bogatstvu zvuka tamburaških ansambala. Ovaj rad detaljno istražuje primjenu bugarije u različitim glazbenim kontekstima i analizira njezine izvođačke mogućnosti. The bugarija is a stringed instrument from the group of chordophone instruments, known for its role in tamburitza and orchestra ensembles. The bugarija's primary function is harmonic and rhythmic accompaniment. However, its performance capabilities go beyond this role, allowing for dynamic and expressive interpretation. Although it is most commonly used in folk and traditional music, it is increasingly appearing in contemporary and jazz arrangements. There are various tuning systems for the bugarija, including the farkas, jankovic G and A systems, which differ in size, tonality and harmonic role of the instruments in the orchestra. These systems allow for variety in performance, contributing to the richness of the sound of tamburitza ensembles. This paper explores the use of the bugarija in different musical contexts and analyzes its performance capabilities

    No full text
This master thesis analyses the practice and formats of music mediation and their relationship with music in general education schools and music schools. The aim is to explore the possibilities of collaborating with institutions for culture and the arts and to find ways of developing creative partnerships in the community. Additionally, the objective is to set the stage for fostering music mediation in Croatia’s artistic and educational contexts. This analysis makes use of qualitative research methodology and encompasses school lessons, workshops, a visit to the theatre, and focus groups in one general education school and one music school, using The Magic Flute opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as the theme. The results of this research show that pupils have a positive reaction to formats of music mediation, since they not only help them and motivate them to pay attention to the opera, but also teach them to actively listen and critically think about theatre music. There is a need for developing and encouraging creative partnerships in the community which will offer pupils formats of music mediation and thus arouse interest in listening to Western European classical music in institutions for culture and the arts

    No full text
Ovim pristupom učenici postižu cjelovito razumijevanje renesansne glazbe i vokalnog kontrapunkta, razvijajući tehničke vještine i produbljujući razumijevanje glazbenih formi i stilova. The focus of this thesis is on the Renaissance period, providing an insight into its key musical characteristics, including simple harmonies, melodic expressiveness, and the subtle fusion of vocal and instrumental performances. Special emphasis is placed on vocal counterpoint, a central technique from this era that is still taught in music schools and academies worldwide. To enhance the quality and effectiveness of teaching vocal counterpoint, as well as to facilitate easier comprehension, guidelines are offered that employ various methods such as listening, singing, analysis, association, interval notation, and composition. The importance of these methods lies in their ability to foster auditory recognition, an understanding of technical foundations, and the development of a sense of melodic movement among students. Through a detailed introduction of species of counterpoint in the teaching of vocal counterpoint, teachers are encouraged to adapt their instruction to meet the needs of students and create a stimulating learning environment. Additionally, the paper underscores the importance of fostering independence in students when selecting their own compositions to nurture creativity, while teachers provide guidance, encouraging singing and interpretation of textual phrases with a focus on pronunciation, correct accentuation, and expressiveness, helping students become aware of the connection between text and music. This approach allows students to achieve a comprehensive understanding of Renaissance music and vocal counterpoint, developing technical skills and deepening their understanding of musical forms and styles
