    No full text
Petra i Sv. Mihovila, te gradnje poput dolskih čelinjaka, jedinstvenih kamenih košnica. Nematerijalna baština Dola uključuje tradicije poput pučkog pjevanja, koje je posebno istaknuto tijekom Velikog tjedna. Procesija Velikog petka i pjevanje Gospinog plača integriraju materijalne i nematerijalne elemente baštine. Dol is a small inland village on the island of Brač located at the end of a fertile valley. It is renowned for its rich tangible and intangible heritage. Dol developed as a rural settlement adapted to the karst landscape, characterized by traditional architecture that includes stone houses with stone roofs, churches, and notable buildings such as Kaštil Gospodnetić. Particularly prominent are the pre-Romanesque and Romanesque churches, such as those of St. Peter and St. Michael, as well as unique constructions like Dol’s čelinjaci, distinctive stone beehives. The intangible heritage of Dol encompasses traditions such as folk singing, which is especially emphasized during Holy Week. The Good Friday procession and the singing of Gospin plač (Our Lady’s Lament) integrate both the tangible and intangible elements of heritage. Dol's cultural landscape has been shaped over centuries by human activity and natural processes, with olive groves, dry stone walls, and traditional agriculture forming essential parts of the local heritage. The study also addresses the challenges of heritage preservation in the context of contemporary migration and economic changes. Dol, as a cultural landscape and community, bears witness to values that uniquely intertwine nature, architecture, and human tradition into a cohesive whole

This graduation thesis was made with the aim of bringing together all the most used professional accessories used by world renowned trumpeters, trumpet professors, students and trumpet students. Through the work, we will get to know how they look, how they are used and in what aspect individual professional accessories helps. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the air and accessories that help us to use and control the air better and to get a better physical condition of our lungs, because the air is the elemental and most influential aspect of playing the trumpet. The second part of this thesis brings various professional accessories that helps in technical, conditioning, intonation and tonal progress. All the professional accessories listed in this thesis are very useful, as confirmed by the quotes of world renowned musicians who use them, but we must be careful in using certain accessories. Every musician must be aware that not a single professional accessories can help overnight, but requires long-term and smart practice

This thesis explores how sound is produced on a classical guitar, its characteristics, and how various design elements of the guitar affect its sound. It describes simple acoustic measurements that can identify specific properties of the instrument, along with examples of these measurements. The research was conducted on four of student`s own guitars and several renowned builders' guitars - for which recordings were obtained from the internet. Based on the measurement results and subsequent analysis the thesis concludes with insights into how different constructions might influence the instrument`s sound

Teorijski okvir istraživanja činile su teorija svjetova umjetnosti Howarda Beckera i njena upotreba u etnomuzikološkom istraživanju Ruth Finnegan, modeli istraživanja svjetova umjetnosti Hansa van Maanena i etnografske refleksije o glazbenim akademijama Brune Nettla. For over 50 years musicals have been produced in Croatian National Theatre „Ivan pl. Zajc“. This thesis is exploring why is musical as a type of popular musical theatre included in the repertory of a national theatre, what kinds of musicals are performed by their size and their authorship and how are musicals produced considering theatre’s resources and non-existing musical theatre ensemble. Except for the short historiography of Rijeka’s musical theatre, the focus of the thesis are musicals performed from 2019 until today: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s megamusicals Sunset Boulevard and Evita, bilingual interpretation of Cole Porter’s canonical musical Poljubi me, Kato / Baciami, Kate and revue U ritmu Broawaya / A ritmo di Broadway. Theoretical framework for the research were Howard Becker’s art worlds theory, Ruth Finnegan’s application of said theory in ethnomusicological research, Hans van Maanen’s models of researching art worlds and Bruno Nettl’s ethnographic reflections on music academies. Research was made through interviews with artist from different fields and archival work

This work focuses on the analysis of the book Instruction in Organ Playing : A Collection of Preludes by Vjenceslav Novak, aiming to present Novak primarily as a music educator, rather than as a writer, which is how he is more commonly known. The main goal of this work is to show how this book, written for organ instruction, can also be applied in the wider educational process. At the beginning of this work, there is a brief introduction to the history of music in Croatia and to the life and work of Vjenceslav Novak. The main part of the work is dedicated to the analysis of the book’s content and a comparison with similar works from Novak’s time, considering that it was the first and only such book in Croatia. This is followed by a short overview of the elements of organ playing technique and the methodology of organ teaching to be compared with the book Instruction in Organ Playing. Finally, the work offers suggestions on how examples for developing organ techniques can be used in music education and in theoretical music classes (solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint) in music schools

    No full text
This thesis presents a comparison of two seemingly completely different, but also partially similar vocal techniques, technique of operatic or classical singing and technique of popular and musical singing. It details acoustics and basic properties of the voice, types of singing registers, singing technique in general, technique of operatic or classical singing, popular singing technique and belting. The main goal of this thesis is to bring the technique of popular singing closer to opera singers, and to bring the technique of opera singing closer to popular music singers, and to raise awareness that there is not just one correct technique and that these two techniques are intertwined and closely related
