    No full text
This thesis deals with the analysis of the salvage award as an insured loss of marine insurance. Maritime insurance deals with the insurance of ships, other vessels, goods loaded on board, liability of shipowners and other interests that are exposed to risks at sea. Marine insurance and all business related to it are based on a contract. Salvage is the effort of rescuers to prevent further damage to the ship and to help people in danger. After the rescue operation, the rescuers claim the rescue reward, and the shipowner or the insurer is obliged to pay it if the rescue was successful. Salvage reward is the insured damages under the standard conditions for the insurance of ships and goods covered by the insurance of maritime and war risks

Safety in marinas, as well as safety at sea in general, is very important. Maritime accidents are becoming more frequent, and the increase in maritime traffic certainly contributes to the increase in risk. To avoid this, all participants must adhere to the rules of safety at sea. This paper highlights the necessity of regular investment in the marina, taking into account the development of high safety standards, especially during the summer months, when a large number of tourists are recorded, which increases the risk of various maritime accidents. It is necessary to differentiate between risky behaviors in marinas, which can ultimately lead to maritime accidents, such as impact, collision of ships, beaching, explosion, fire, stranding, sinking of a vessel, the possibility of a person falling into the sea, as well as pollution of the sea. The aim of this paper is to provide insight into risky behaviors in marinas, and to indicate how to increase safety in marinas

The theme of this final paper is determining the quantity of liquefied gas cargo on board LPG vessels. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is the name used in the petroleum industry for butane, propane, or a mixture of both; they are non-toxic, odourless hydrocarbons that exist as a gas at normal atmospheric pressure and an ambient temperature of 15.6°C. Most liquefied gases are hydrocarbons; their flammability is the main reason they are the world's primary energy source. This paper will present how to determine cargo quantities of liquefied gases on LPG ships. For this calculation, we need to define the amount of gas on board before loading operations start, and the same process is repeated after the operations are finished. The difference between the amount on board after and before the operation will result in the amount of gas loaded on board

Pravila reguliraju prava i obveze svih dionika u situacijama kada se treba žrtvovati jedan imovinski interes u svrhu očuvanja broda i tereta u pomorskom procesu. In this paper, we deal with the course and way of functioning of maritime accidents. We define maritime accidents as events that occurred in specific situations during a maritime undertaking. The process of assessing the severity of the joint damage as well as the amount of contributions the parties must participate in to settle the costs is called the liquidation of the joint damage. The very extraordinary that occurs in these situations is unique, and it is precisely for this reason that the York-Antwerp rules were adopted to regulate such situations. The rules describe the rights and obligations of all stakeholders in situations where cargo needs to be sacrificed for the purpose of preserving the ship and life in the maritime process

Pojavom ECDIS (engl. With the advent of ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) and its implementation on ships, maritime navigation becomes much simpler and safer compared to the era when paper charts were the main support for navigators during navigation. Connected with multiple shipboard systems and sensors, ECDIS is very complex and requires a good knowledge of its components to operate it. In this paper, some of the main components of the ECDIS system will be discussed to explain in more detail the principle of the system and its role in maritime navigation, as well as the importance of adequate training to obtain a certificate of competence for handling ECDIS
