Pozycja prawna kobiet w prawie małżeńskim Pakistanu w świetle międzynarodowych standardów ochrony praw człowieka
This doctoral thesis is an attempt to answer the question if women rights related to the marriage in Pakistan are compatible with international human rights standards. The main hypothesis of the thesis is that the standards in Pakistani marriage law are consistent with the requirements of Sharia law and thus significantly differ from the universal international standards. The study proves assumed hypothesis, in the course of the research author conclude that women’s position in the marriage is not equal to the position of the man. The discrimination is most visible in various situations: women do not have same right to choose a spouse and to enter into marriage, same rights regarding custody of their children and responsibilities as parents and also in law regulating divorce. The thesis consisting of VI chapters; chapter I characterize the legal system of Pakistan and Islamic law, chapter II analyze the historical developments of women rights in Pakistan, chapter III look over the international human rights standards related to marriage, while chapters IV, V and VI examine Pakistan's specific laws regulating status of women in marriage and compares tchem to an international human rights standards
FL code-switching in the L1 environment among early-aged monolingual learners: a pilot study
Code-switching has recently become an interesting phenomenon to study because it is
a part of the developmental processes, as well as the result of the use of, and exposure to, multiple
languages. For this reason, code-switching usually occurs during foreign language teaching and
learning, “especially when studying English based on the different backgrounds and reasons”
(Yusuf, 2009). Accordingly, code-switching can be examined from various viewpoints such as the
form, location, patterns, conditions, and functions, in relation to the use or the roles of the L1 and L2
or FL in the classroom, the former being most often referred to. This paper aims to determine the
conditions for the use of code-switching in a quite different situation, namely, among very young
learners conceived of as monolinguals who happen to switch to English (FL) in the L1 classroom
environment. The article opens with a brief characterization of code-switching, defining its most
frequent forms and functions, and a description of bilingual and monolingual code-switching
contexts, an emphasis being put on the role of L1 in the language adaptation process and switching.
The study, composed of a questionnaire distributed among 5 kindergarten teachers in public
kindergartens in Poland, has shown bits and pieces of code-switching to be observed among four
groups of Polish children (early-aged monolinguals), and their “linguistic behaviors” on a daily basis
in the kindergarten classroom. What has been hinted at ranges from the exact situations of switching
to language samples, presented according to age, and possible reasons for the current state of affairs

Analytical philosophy of history in Poland : inspirations and interpretations
Analytic philosophy is sometimes understood in opposition to continental tradition. In this article, I would like to show that a Lviv‑Warsaw School shared many fundamental traits with analytic orientation. In afterwar Poland, this tradition clashed with the dialectical materialism that lacks strong scientific tradition but had the full support of the communist party. This situation produced a unique scenario in which the methodology of science could strive as a mainstream area. A crucial role was attributed to the theory of history
The problem of hate crimes in the United States of America
The aim of this article is to draw attention to an issue that has a long history:
the problem of hate crimes in the United States of America. There is no doubt that hate
crimes are the type of crime that attack the very principle of individuality that is an entitlement
under the equal protection of the law (in the U.S.). Bearing the foregoing in mind the
above, and that the number of such crime has increased at an alarming rate, this article
describes and discusses types of hate crimes such as: Racist and Religious Hate Crimes,
Sexual Orientation-Based Hate Crimes and Disability Hate Crimes as an extended projection
of the analysis, several solutions have been proposed to mitigate tensions and combat
the prevalence and severity of hate crime in all its forms
Engagement of Children with Special Educational Needs in Accordance with the Routines-Based Model
Engagement of a child with SEN during therapeutical and educational activities is important in terms of their development. This construct can be understood as the time the child spends interacting with adults, peers and materials, in a manner appropriate for their developmental age. Routines-Based Model is one of the methods which particularly promotes engagement.
This study aims at measuring the level of engagement in certain preschool routines and its changes during the school year. The article consists of two parts; the first one presents issues connected with defining and identifying the levels of engagement, the second one discusses the studies connected with determining the level of engagement of children with special educational needs in the process of education.
The analysis of study results indicates that children in the tested group achieve the highest scores in overall engagement and engagement with materials. The highest level of engagement throughout the year has also been observed in those categories
In Situ Observation of Point-Defect-Induced Unit-Cell-WiseEnergy Storage Pathway in Antiferroelectric PbZrO3
Phase transition is established to govern electrostatic energy storage for antiferroelectric (AFE)-type dielectric capacitors. However, the source of inducing the phase transition and the pathway of storing the energy remains elusive so far given the ultrafast charging/discharging process under normal working conditions. Here, by slowing down the phase-transition speed using electronbeam irradiation as an external stimulus, the in situ dynamic energy-storage process in AFE PbZrO3 is captured by using atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy. Specifically, it is found that oxygen-lead-vacancy-induced defect core acts as a seed to initiate the antiferrodistortive-to-ferrodistortive transition in antiparallel-Pb-based structural frames. Associated with polarity evolution of the compressively strained defect core, the ferroelectric (FE)– ferrodistortive state expands bilaterally along the b-axis direction and then develops into charged domain configurations during the energy-storage process, which is further evidenced by observations at the ordinary FE states. With filling the gap of perception, the findings here provide a straightforward approach of unveiling the unit-cell-wise energy storage pathway in chemical defect-engineered dielectric ceramics
Synthesis, spectroscopy, single-crystal structure analysis and antibacterial activity of two novel complexes of silver(I) with miconazole drug
In a previous article, we reported on the higher toxicity of silver(I) complexes of miconazole
[Ag(MCZ)2NO3 (1)] and [Ag(MCZ)2ClO4 (2)] in HepG2 tumor cells compared to the corresponding
salts of silver, miconazole and cisplatin. Here, we present the synthesis of two silver(I)
complexes of miconazole containing two new counter ions in the form of Ag(MCZ)2X (MCZ =
1-[2-(2,4-dichlorobenzyloxy)-2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)ethyl]-1H-imidazole]; X = BF4− (3), SbF6− (4)).
The novel silver(I) complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and
infrared (IR) spectroscopy, electrospray ionization (ESI)-MS spectrometry and
X-ray-crystallography. In the present study, the antimicrobial activity of all obtained silver(I)
complexes of miconazole against six strains of Gram-positive bacteria, five strains of
Gram-negative bacteria and yeasts was evaluated. The results were compared with those of a silver
sulfadiazine drug, the corresponding silver salts and the free ligand. Silver(I) complexes exhibited
significant activity against Gram-positive bacteria, which was much better than that of silver sulfadiazine
and silver salts. The highest antimicrobial activity was observed for the complex containing
the nitrate counter ion. All Ag(I) complexes of miconazole resulted in much better inhibition
of yeast growth than silver sulfadiazine, silver salts and miconazole. Moreover, the synthesized
silver(I) complexes showed good or moderate activity against Gram-negative bacteria compared
to the free ligand
The Effect of Ho Doping Contents on the Structural, Microstructure and Dielectric Properties of Bi5Ti3FeO15 Aurivillius Ceramics
Aurivillius Bi5-xHoxTi3FeO15 (BHTFO) multiferroic ceramics with different holmium doping contents were synthesized by conventional solid state reaction. The effect of holmium doping on the microstructure, structural and dielectric behaviors of BHTFO ceramics were investigated in details. Microstructure and crystalline structure studies of ceramics were carried out at room temperature while dielectric properties were investigated in a wide range of temperature (T = 25ºC-550ºC) and frequency (20Hz-1MHz)
