Metformin reduces hepatocellular carcinoma risk in chronic hepatitis C with advanced fibrosis after SVR
No full textThe dataset comprises a database including 1556 chronic hepatitis C patients with sustained virologic response after treatment with direct acting antivirals. These patients have been followed up for a median of 74 months after development of hepatocelular carcinoma, death from other cause or the last appointment. Besides the dependent (hepatocelular carcinoma development) and independent variable (metformin treatment), other possible confounders to check the protective role of metformin on HCC development are also recorded.
Background: Metformin may protect against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients with advanced fibrosis after sustained virologic response (SVR) by enhancing immune response and altering tumour metabolism.
Aim: To assess HCC incidence based on FIB-4 levels and evaluate metformin’s protective effect in CHC patients post-SVR.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data was conducted in a multicentre cohort of 1,556 CHC patients with SVR after direct-acting antivirals (DAAs). Patients were followed for a median of 74 months. HCC incidence was stratified by FIB-4, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH), and metformin use. A multivariate Cox model assessed the association between metformin use and HCC risk, adjusted for confounders, and validated via Random Survival Forest (RSF) and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP).
Results: HCC incidence increased with higher FIB-4, reaching 1.8 per 100 patient-years in the FIB-4 >3.25 group. Within this group, CSPH and T2DM were associated with higher HCC incidence, while metformin use was associated with a reduction to levels comparable to those in the intermediate FIB-4 group. In multivariate analysis, FIB-4, cirrhosis, CSPH, smoking, and older age were independently associated with higher HCC risk, whereas metformin use was consistently associated with HCC hazard reduction. These findings were confirmed by RSF and SHAP analyses, which particularly highlighted the potential benefit of metformin in patients with advanced fibrosis and CSPH.
Conclusions: FIB-4 effectively stratifies HCC risk post-SVR. Metformin significantly lowers HCC risk, particularly in high-risk CHC patients with CSPH, T2DM, cirrhosis or smoking habit supporting its role in HCC prevention strategies.</p

Alas de mujer para el 180 aniversario del Museo de Guadalajara
No full textPartiendo de un proyecto educativo antecesor "Alas para el Museo de Guadalajara para el Día Internacional de los Museos", que se basaba en la creación plástica de alas de grifos o seres mitológicos presentes en Palacio del Infantado -sede del Museo de Guadalajara - para favorecer el conocimiento y apreciación del patrimonio del museo, este nuevo proyecto expositivo continúa también con la línea de investigación, pero esta vez con los objetivos 1. Fomentar la valoración y difusión del Museo de Guadalajara en su 180 aniversario, 2. Diseñar propuestas de innovación de educación artística, promoviendo el desarrollo de la creatividad y la inclusión de la expresión plástica, y 3. Conocer mujeres artistas presentes en el Museo de Guadalajara y en otros museos.
Bajo estos propósitos se diseñó y organizó una exposición artística: "Alas de mujer para el 180 aniversario del Museo de Guadalajara", donde se expusieron un total de 30 creaciones inspiradas en artistas plásticas femeninas, en forma de grandes alas realizadas por estudiantes de Educación de la UAH, bajo la dirección de la investigadora, con múltiples técnicas plásticas y diferentes composiciones en forma de alas figurativas de aves, insectos, mecánicas, orgánicas, geométricas, abstractas, indefinidas...
Del 16 de noviembre al 7 de diciembre de 2018 se realizó una exposición en conmemoración al 180 aniversario del Museo de Guadalajara en dos sedes que mantienen un nexo de unión temporal: El Instituto de Educación Secundaria Liceo Caracense -ex-convento de La Piedad-, sede original y primigenia del Museo de Guadalajara en 1838, y en el Palacio del Infantado, sede del Museo de Guadalajara desde 1973 hasta la actualidad.
Finalmente, el proyecto expositivo también pretendía que los participantes y visitantes se fotografiaran en redes sociales con las alas artísticas, bajo la etiqueta #AlasMuseoGuadaUAH. Un artículo final en una revista especializada en patrimonio, explica, documenta y analiza el proyecto en profundidad.
Este dataset contiene el cartel de la exposición y la tarjeta de invitación a la exposición, así como documentación fotográfica de la inauguración de la exposición del proyecto "Alas de mujer para el 180 aniversario del Museo de Guadalajara", en la que aparecen los dos espacios expositivos con las obras expuestas en el Instituto de Educación Secundaria Liceo Caracense -ex-convento de La Piedad- y en el Palacio del Infantado, sede del Museo de Guadalajara.</p

This dataset enables the analysis of the drivers of female followers' engagement -cognitive, affective and behavioral- with eco-friendly restaurants on Instagram and their influence on brand advocacy and the intention to visit the restaurant. As antecedents, the perceived originality and perceived enjoyment that followers derive from the brand-generated content posted by a restaurant on Instagram are considered. Additionally, attention is given to the moderating effects of followers' attitudes towards the use of emojis in posts and to past visits to the restaurant.</p
